Our…read moredriver, Jared, was absolutely wonderful--he has such a great personality and was incredibly engaging throughout the ride. We chose to do the full loop first so we could hear Jared's complete narration before hopping off to explore. It was the perfect decision! He shared fascinating details about Savannah's rich history, along with some lesser-known fun facts that really brought the city to life. The tour sparked our excitement to visit spots we might have overlooked otherwise. The hop-on hop-off format worked brilliantly for us. Buses arrived quickly at each stop--we rarely waited long--and the stops are conveniently located near all the main tourist attractions. It got a bit crowded toward the end of the day (around 5 p.m.), and we occasionally had to wait for the next bus, but overall, it was seamless and stress-free. One small suggestion: I wish the tours ran a little later than 5 p.m. It would be ideal for avoiding parking hassles and enjoying dinner downtown--there are so many delicious restaurants to try! We highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting an easy, informative, and enjoyable way to see Savannah. Thanks to Jared for making it memorable!

Needless to say, the topic of slavery is an emotionally difficult subject, but a necessary topic. Sistah Patt made it interesting and educational. Take this tour. You will be happy that you did. I also took the Bonaventure Cemetery and Wormsloe tour with Dan. I enjoyed that tour as well. It was very interesting and it ends with cookies (a stop at the Byrd's Cookies store)- always a good thing.

We loaded up and left promptly. She gave us some knowledge of the area on our way. She talked the entire way of lots of things we passed! We had a disabled person with a walker and she was very considerate and helped her get her walker on and off the trolley and made sure she was first on things and ahead of the group. She also had a cooler of free waters that I thought was very considerate! The itinerary was a bit different than the website I booked from. We went from their office to the boat ride, then lunch, then the lighthouse/beach area then dropped off people at their hotels and then back to their office. She said that the ticket was good for a couple days and that if you called them they would be there within 15 minutes and drop you off where you wanted within an area. We would use this service again!

You can tell right away she's passionate about what she does and truly knows her stuff. The way she brought Savannah's Black history to life was amazing! It wasn't just facts and dates, it was stories, music, videos, and even her playing the drums! It was a whole multi-sensory experience that pulled us right in. We laughed, we learned, and we left feeling so proud and inspired. I loved how creative she was in how she shared our history. It felt like a celebration, not a lecture. If you're in Savannah and want to connect with the soul of the city, do yourself a favor and book this tour. You won't regret it!

Rita kept it fun, exciting, great music, stories, landmarks and a lot of little know facts. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone. Our Ashanti Too Book Club was celebrating our 20th anniversary and this was a highlight. She accommodated us by scheduling a private tour for our group of 13 and at the time we needed. The bus was well maintained, it had individual seat belts, music and even blankets and fans to keep cool or warm. You will have an unforgettable experience and the price was reasonable. Thank you Rita Yates!

I can recommend Kelly Tours, but I do not recommend booking them through Trip Advisor. Just go to Gray Line Tours/ Kelly website. Kelly operates differently than the other tour companies in that they will send a shuttle bus to your hotel to pick you up and take you to the central bus station where you then get on your trolley. If you have a 10:00 tour, be prepared to be picked up twenty minutes early. We didn't get this instruction. Our tour of the historic district was very good. Our tour guide was fairly knowledgeable of the history. He was more knowledgeable of the buildings. The tour was an excellent way to get a feel for the district and to plan your route by foot. All tours offer the ability to jump on and off trolleys during the day which is a great way to cover ground. Kelly is different in that you call them and they send one of the shuttle buses to pick you up and carry you where you want to go. We didn't avail ourselves of this perk so I can't speak to the waiting time for a shuttle.

The buses were way smaller than I am used to when traveling which made it very uncomfortable as I am tall. Also on one of the local Kelly Tours the seats were broken. The drivers in all cases were awesome, but I would not be able to recommend them due to the discomfort of the buses and lack of upkeep.
