A charming farm stand on Perry's Dairy farm in Canton Center, CT. This property is picturesque and quintessentially New England. When you drive by, you're guaranteed to see a big red barn and cows grazing. The farm stand is fully self serve; you write on a notebook what you purchased and they accept cash, PayPal, check, and venmo. They are open daily from 9am to 630pm. The inside of the building is cozy; right outside, there were cows grazing. They have a variety of products. A few of the products were handmade cow/goat milk bath products, dairy products, fudge, ice cream, eggs, chicken, pork, beef, popcorn, honey, syrup, shirts, compost, etc. We purchased eggs, half gallon whole milk, and body soap. They had a $5 sale basket for handmade soaps. This is a great place to get local gift items. Most importantly, you're supporting a small business! I highly recommend it and can't wait to go in different seasons to see their offerings.

There were plenty of free on-street parking when we went. Since moving to the town of Canton, I have been meaning to make a trip. This past Sunday on Labor Day weekend, I finally made it. There was live music. The market was full of people shopping and vendors. There were produce, British baked goods, mushroom coffee and jerky, maple syrup, books, art, soap, shirts, jewelry, etc. There were plenty of vendors selling all their goodies. We visited each stand and enjoyed shopping and window shopping. We purchased cookies from Calos cookies, scones from the British stand, and maple lollipops from another stand. The Cow's Coop brought a baby cow (calf); it was so cute. After, we went to get coffee at LaSalle's and walked around the town. The weather was perfect, the vendors were friendly, I look forward to going back and supporting more small businesses.

There is just something about Collinsville that resonates with me -it has a laid back Bohemian Hippie Vibe that is hard to put into words. Maybe its the dozens of happy pooches that wander around. Maybe its the ultra friendly vendors. Maybe its the drop dead gorgeous scenery as you look over the Crown and Hammer. Maybe it's all the bicyclists and joggers that are everywhere. Maybe its all that granola and nuts and seeds and tie dye. It's like hard to explain, man..... We bought some corn, and a pizza and biscottis from Collinsville bakery. There are quite a bit of vendors here, most definitely more than when we started patronizing the Market a few years ago. Beautiful fresh produce is available from dozens of stands, plus meats, baked goods, herbs, eggs, you name it. It's a wonderful way to spend a few hours on a Sunday Summer afternoon.

I read reviews and gathered that it was a great place to visit, especially during the autumn time. The parking lot was spacious right off the busy road. They offer hayrides and there was a pumpkin patch; you can pick your own in the field or in the store. There was a garden center and farm store. The farm store had jams, jellies, apples, gourds, cookies, veggies, pumpkins, mums, hot sauces, etc. They had wheelbarrows for you to use, if you're planning to buy a few big pumpkins. They also had an apple fritter/donut/cider stand. I purchased half a dozen of apple fritters for $8; you can add extra cinnamon sugar. Those apple fritters looked like donut holes but tasted like apple donuts, it was very splendid! Overall, a great spot to stop by if you're into the small town farm vibes. There was a beautiful view of the Heublein tower on the hill and the fall foliage. It's the perfect fall activity!

Apparently they close at 4 so I wished they would advertise that that's all. Very cute selection of pumpkins. The farm stand had several apples and other products but we mainly came for the fritters. There is a parking lot for about 20-ish cars. There are a few picnic tables, trash cans, and restrooms. Across the street is the Farmington River trail in Burlington, CT. We came here on a Saturday for dinner to check it out. There were a few cars and people. Since it's new, there was an ice cream truck, taco truck, Little Axe farm stand, and a beverage vendor. I know it's still new so I see a lot of potential of this place being a popular spot and I'm assuming more food trucks coming soon!

At your favorite park, at fairs and festivals all over the state, and at a growing number of food truck parks. What's a food truck park? Well, it's pretty much like an outdoor shopping mall lined with food trucks instead of stores. We visited a fairly new one today - the River Glenn Park on Canton Road (Route 179) in Burlington. Our first impression was extremely favorable. It is very well organized, with a gravel lot, marked traffic flow lanes, and plenty of parking. They have a large restroom facility, and plenty of brand-new wood picnic tables with bench seating and wood dining tables with conventional chairs. The food trucks on premises rotate on schedule, and today we saw a Taco Shack truck, a Cowboy Butter BBQ truck, a Wiener Time cart, and a Little Axe Market stand. We both had lunch from the Taco Shack, and each went for a "Three Tacos for $13" special. They offer nine different tacos, and the special lets you mix or match any three for $13. The choices are pretty cool - Classic Beef, Chicken, Pork, Crispy Chicken, Buffalo Crispy Chicken, El Diablo, Sweet Potato, and Deep-Fried Pickle. My wife went with sweet potato, chicken and pork, while I went with pork, Buffalo Crispy Chicken and an El Diablo. I love spice, and the El Diablo promised plenty of heat with spicy rubbed chicken, sriracha, sriracha crème, and fresh jalapenos. Honestly, it disappointed me -it was barely spicy at all, and the fresh jalapenos were nowhere to be found. On the other hand, the Buffalo Crispy Chicken was great. It had a good-sized chicken tender with some hi-test hot sauce slathered inside the taco. It was by far my favorite. Now, listen up because the food trucks don't sell drinks. Instead, you need to go over to the Little Axe Market stand that sells cans and bottles of soda, along with fresh tomatoes and baskets of mums. A 20-ounce bottle of Diet Coke cost us $3.50. We grabbed a picnic table, enjoyed the beautiful day, chatted with a lovely lady who was there with her dog, enjoyed our tacos, and drank our $3.50 bottle of soda. Well done, River Glenn Park. Thanks for a very positive first visit.
