Why on earth would anyone want their child to attend a private school?
Sen. Hillary Clinton popularized an African Proverb when she released a book with the title, "It Takes A Village" a few years ago. Before the industrialized revolution most of our ancestors were raised in an environment where they were known by everybody and they knew everybody. It wasn't uncommon for a child to be cared for by many more people than simply their mother, father, and siblings. The extended family were not mere strangers sharing a last name, they were a part of the development of one another. In other words, it took a village to properly raise a child. TCS is a small village of educators, faculty, administrators, pastors, parents, and volunteers who invest in the lives of children.
With the plethora of opportunities available to the children at TCS, it's no wonder the students learn much more than reading, writing, and arithmetic. They have the opportunity to learn drama, art, music, foreign languages, sciences, and more. Perhaps my favorite program of the school is the daily assembly in Chapel. The time in chapel includes singing, a short lesson, prayer, and celebrating the big events in a child's life (birthdays, losing teeth, and others).
The best part of all are the relationships the staff develops with each child...it's priceless. After many years of partnering with the faculty of TCS, I can say that without a shadow of a doubt...it's five star school! read more
