I'm a student here, and so many things are wrong with this school. For example, the Muslims are put above everyone else at the school, the "pepperoni" isn't even real pepperoni and tastes bland. All of the kids are always screaming, getting mad at each other, fighting, and bullying. It's horrible for me in the classroom. oh and also last year, we had to read a book last year that made me feel uncomfortable. It may be the education board for that, but regardless it still has. The same happened for this year. Also, they once forced us to sit outside in the sweltering heat for a soccer game some of us didn't even care about, which I am pretty sure against the law. Talking about against the law, they have cameras in the bathroom! That's a violation of privacy! This school is a very bad place to send a person of this type to as well: White (this is real). Student's Perspective - Culture: After being an educator for over 10 years, I have yet to meet a student who genuinely loves school. Many students love different aspects of school, but for a student to choose school over any other activity, the school would have to be extremely amazing or extremely laissez-faire. There is no doubt in my mind that if you send your child to this school, they will be successful if they follow the regimen to the letter. However, school for students can start as early as 7:00 am, if parents drop off their child early but no later than 7:40. As soon as they get into their advisory class (1st PD), the early arrival kids will begin working on a journal topic of sorts while they wait for the rest of the class to arrive. 3 days out of the week, advisory is used to have meetings around school culture with students, turning every student into a law abiding citizen, for the most part, and drastically reducing anxiety for everyone of them. Students rarely experience bullying, inequality, or unfairness from anybody at this school. They are heavily monitored and the expectation is for them to be quiet in the classroom, the hallways, and in other general settings while meetings are taking place. Where as for other public schools this might be just an expectation, the teachers and leadership team do a large amount of training to ensure that the expectation is enforced. If you've never been at this school while in session, it's impressive alone just seeing everyone move from class to class. One of the few things that students do get anxiety about, though, is the way the restroom is handled for them. They are only allowed to go during the first ten minutes of every class period. If they miss that time block to ask for permission, they aren't allowed to go. There is a system in place in case of emergencies, but too often I've requested someone to come relieve one of my students to go to the restroom after the reserved block and I don't get a response, so the child sits there holding it in. It has gotten better, but it's disheartening to see. The idea behind this is, child safety, protection of school property, and equity of a learning experience for all. I got a call from the school one day because my son was sick and they needed me to come and get him. So I put on my shoes and headed toward to the school. 2.9 miles total I lived from the school. So I arrived at the school and as I was walking in to the school the Assistant Principle was walking out of the front doors. She stopped me and asked me if I had seen a little boy, I replies No and continued into the school. I looked back and saw her and another woman jogging down toward the road. I go in to the office and tell them I am here to pick up my son. They call his teacher and she said she sent him to the office, he should be in there. Well he was not. So I check the bathrooms right down the hall from the office and he was not there either. Then the light bulb went on in my head and my stomach dropped! Oh My Goodness, that way my son the assistant principle was looking for! So I immediately got in my car and headed back towards my house. NOW, this school is on a main road with no side walks, 45 mph speed zone, and semi trucks galore! I'm praying that my baby is OK. As I turn off of the major road on to another major road I see three cars stopped on the side of the road and the people standing out of their cars all looking down! My heart sank, panic sunk in, and tears started flowing. I thought the worse, please don't let my baby be hurt! I jumped out of my car and ran over to them. Thank God! My son was standing there with these complete strangers, the assistant principle, and another teacher. Apparently, my sons teacher told him that he had to go home because he was sick, my 5 year old son took him literally, got his backpack, and walked out of the doors, and started walking home. A passerby called the school to inform them that they saw a student walking down the road with a backpack on, that is how they knew they were missing a kid! A different stranger was pumping gas at the gas station adjacent from the turn he made on to the other major road and as he drove over to my son and stopped him and called the police. Thank god this was not some creepy child molester or something! Anyhow, my 5 year old son walked .25 miles on a busy roadway with no sidewalk until he was stopped by a stranger. The stranger told me he called the cops and the assistant principle said " I don't think there is a need for that" REALLY???? And then she had the audacity to look at my son and say " You know you are not suppose to do that, you could have gotten yourself hurt" HOLD UP..... Don't tell MY child he was in the wrong for going home like his teacher told him to. He was 5 and his first year in school and he did exactly what he was told. He was not told to go to the office ( in which he shouldn't be allowed to go alone to anyways) he was told to go home. The cops came we filled out a report. The man who stopped my son from walking further told me he would testify for me if I chose to sue the "h**l out of them" but I didn't pursue it. I did however go off on them for the negligence but never filed anything against them. I was told they have put in a buddy system since that incident happened and I believe that they still till this day use the buddy system. I am so thankful my son was not hurt and I am glad it taught those teachers something too. So, needless to say, I pulled my son out of that school when the year was over and never returned!

I was told we could not see video footage to confirm what happened and opted to pull our son from the class with an email confirmation that the two week notice policy would be waived and a refund would be issued for the week my son did not attend. Two weeks later, no refund and being told a refund can't be issued now and to take it up with corporate. Taking no accountability for promising a refund and will not make this right. I noticed at a Girl Scout meeting my daughter and another student from Thales couldn't read nearly as well as their peers. I decided to have my daughter assessed independently, and we were shocked to learn she was testing below a kindergarten level (she was in 1st grade) in both reading and math. The lack of academic progress made sense once I actually saw how the classrooms are run. I substitute taught at the school several times and quickly realized that the "teachers" are not licensed educators. They simply stand there and read verbatim what a book tells them to say. They are untrained employees. They are literally just reading instructions out loud, not actually teaching the students. I immediately withdrew my kids. My daughter started second grade in the Williamson County public school system and was far behind. It took over two years of RTI, summer school, and private tutors just to get her caught up to her peers.
