Lawrenceburg Technical College

Everything from beginning to end was a bad experience at Lawrenceburg Technical College. The…read moreFinancial aid side of things is the worst. When I first called the school to get more information, I was told to come in for a meeting. When I got there, it was nothing but pushing me into signing documents with little to no explanation of what I was signing up for. Just, "We got you, everything is fine, it will all work out, we got you covered, here sign this, sign that, it won't cost you anything" ... etc, etc. I was frank with them, told them I did not want to be placed on a loan, which is what they did. When I asked them about it and whether I had to pay back, I was assured that no, only if I was not in good standing with the school. It was not until graduation day, I found out it was a loan they put me in, and it does need to be paid back. When I tried to resolve it with the school, I was given no satisfaction, lied to by the very person who is listed on the FAFSA website as the person over Financial Aid at Lawrenceburg Technical College. Her name is Cynthia, and she never gave me any satisfaction; in fact, she angrily told me she has nothing to do with the financial aid side of things, and I never heard anything back from my last email sent to them. After graduation, I went to request my financial documents from the school, and that is where I discovered that Lawrenceburg Technical College had not only lied to me they had also manipulated documents and, under indirect charges, they had around $14,000. for things like food, housing, transportation, and personal which did not include fees, supplies, books, etc. LTC does not offer housing, transportation, food, or anything for that matter. None of that was ever discussed with me or shown to me until I requested the financial documents. I was also promised things during class for perfect attendance in which I never received. In fact, like 5 months after graduation, when I started pushing for it, I was told I could go buy the items they had promised me. LTC does not even deserve a 1 Star, and I would never recommend that school to anyone.

I went to school here from the 3rd grade through high school a long time ago. It was a wonderful…read moreschool that prepared me for the future. I graduated from the University of Tennessee undergraduate and graduate school and loved it but most of my graduating class went to Ivy League schools, Vanderbilt and even Cal Tech .If you are a high level student and want a high level education the University School of Nashville will provide you with a great education.

I clearly don't have any kiddos but I had to give a shout-out to the University School of Nashville…read morebecause I have toured the campus a couple of times and recently attended their annual Artclectic event and was very impressed with this top notch K-12 educational facility. The campus is beautiful especially with recent state of the art renovations and the staff that I have encountered were all very passionate about leveraging a student's, artistic, intellectual and athletic potential. As we all know education is a major issue in our country but this school appears to be part of the elite schools that offer an outstanding educational experience from grade school through high school graduation. It's going to cost you though, with grade school tuition at around $16,000 a year and high-school hovering at $18,000.... you must invest or pray to god they offer your student financial aid which is available. The good news is USN gives over $1.8 million in need-based financial aid to 18% of the students. Even attending the Artclectic event showcased how USN truly invests into it's educational model and really stands out from the pack of sub-par schools that are unfortunately part of the thread of the city.
