There is a separate evening menu that has a limited choice, which suggests that the quality is likely to be good. Don't expect haute cuisine but do expect good pub food, entertaining and welcoming locals, friendly bar staff and a fascinating mooch around the various bits of 'stuff' around the pub. The views of the coastline and breathtaking. This restaurant is a kind of smart-casual dockside bar-cum-fish and chip restaurant, with a relaxed, stylish feel. Ship related and marine objects decorate the light airy, modern interior. The floors are sanded and the furniture comfortable. Welcoming, cheerful staff offered us seats by the open windows beach side or outdoor tables facing the lake, we chose the latter. Our Labrador was made very welcome. The menu offers lots of fun fishy fresh ideas including an interesting series of small portion lite-bite stuff and, much appreciated by my wife, a quality choice of gluten free dishes. Most of us chose versions of fish and chips - see photos - which were really nice, with the batter fresh and crispy and the fish delicious. Lovely place.
This was the view from our table over the natural lake and across to the wonderful Devon countryside.

Ceilings so low even I had to duck a couple times around the many old wood beams and brick arches all over the place. Very small but intimate, warm place with lots of little nooks and cool little places to cuddle up with your special one and a few great pints. Live music was excellent, and it definitely filled the place, making it actually a bit too hot for my comfort, but that's how the English do it. Seating outdoors as well for the smokers. Small bar food menu, but also an upper restaurant part as well with full menu of your usual British food. So glad we stumbled upon this place, somewhat hidden from the main road, and will always be a place we visit when in town.
