One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever had the privilege of staying in! Even before I get into…read morethe details, just know that if you're road tripping across Texas it is 100% worth driving an extra hour or two to stay here!! While the town of Big Spring isn't much to look at, this hotel has been resurrected from the dead and made to shine brighter than ever. Seriously, if you get the chance to look through the crazy renovation pictures in the lobby you have to see just how bad the condition was when the owners bought it! Despite the age, the elevators weren't worrying at all, and the woman at the front desk recommended a high floor to us for the view. I'm glad she did because it really was beautiful to watch the sun set across the vast flatness of Texas from the 11th floor. Before I get to the room, I have to shoutout how beautiful the lobby is. Grand staircase, beautiful decor, an antique car, informative history on the walls, AND an amazing bar and a great restaurant on site too. It's awesome, and my friend and I were both impressed by the drinks we got with dinner. We were all very satisfied with our dinners and the portions were generous. Customer service was also top notch in every aspect, and that's definitely not just because they gave us a delicious homemade chocolate chip cookie (omg so good). Now to get to the hotel room... first of all, it was HUGE! Probably the biggest hotel room I've ever stayed in. Two big beds with a generous amount of space around them, a full coffee bar at the entrance to the room, a big walk-in closet space, a vanity, and a huge bathroom that had a soaking tub AND a spacious shower stall. Honestly, we were stunned by the size of the room and that was only capped off by the comfort of the beds. After road tripping across Texas all day, these were absolutely magical. We'd wanted to stay in unique places on this road trip and I'm so glad we did because Hotel Settles isn't just beautiful, it's also comfortable and very luxurious in the accommodations and food / drink options on site! Highly recommend!!

We wanted to stay in unique places and I feel so incredibly lucky that I saw this place!! The entire experience started off so nicely when Kim (one of the owners) called us the day we were arriving to ask about our arrival time so her or her husband Mark could be there to welcome us, and she also offered to make us an early continental breakfast since we were leaving before 8am the next day. It was so kind, but we declined because we were good to grab food on the road so we could get home. But that level of customer service and genuine kindness was a perfect example of our stay! Mark met us and gave us a tour of the BEAUTIFUL house, told us about the history, showed us historical photos they got from the granddaughter of the man who first built it. He offered us wine and coffee and the best banana bread I've ever had (seriously I need to email them for the recipe), and he even let us meet his puppy which made my daughter so happy! The house itself is incredible. Mark and Kim did an impossible task renovating it from abandoned nightmare to a breathtaking home that feels luxurious and so special. It really would be perfect for a small family celebration or wedding! Our favorite parts were the atrium in the center of the house that still had the 100+ year old birds of paradise plants that the original owner brought there from Guatemala, and the fact that their beautiful Christmas decorations were still up. We were extra lucky to be the only people staying there, so we really had the run of the house and got to hang out in their gorgeous living room to enjoy the Christmas decor and watch a movie together on our tablet. Everything was clean, the beds were so comfy, the amenities were awesome, the owners are SO SWEET, and Mulberry Manor is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed. We've been home a few days and my daughter is still talking about it! If you get the chance, I cannot recommend it enough!

Definitely the worst wedding food we've had. We talked about how bad it was all the way home. The servers wear cut-off blue jean shorts & t-shirts, for a wedding. They started picking up the table runners before the wedding was even over, which caused a drink that someone had left on our table to spill all over my glasses which were on the table. We were standing right there, but she did it so quickly that we didn't have time to offer to pick them up. Then when she saw that they were ours (we picked them up and were shaking them off), she just kept going like it was our fault. No apology.

We set up & decorated early a.m. for our wedding & staff were available when caterers & bands set to make the set up seamless & stress free! Inside the venue, it is beautifully warmly strung with lights from the rafters & two rustic style, gorgeous chandeliers! The main space is expansive as we easily entertained & seated about 150 guests with plenty of space to dance, eat & sip libations!!! There is a adorable back bar area to serve guests from! Outside there are multiple cocktail tables & ample space if you want to get hitched outside! A multitude of picturesque spots & inclusive of an antique red, remodeled pick up!! There is a separate cute building with a fireplace to convene as well. They set up the tables & chairs & take these down & clean up. Price point is very reasonable for inclusions. We had the wedding of our dreams & largely attributed to Cotton Creek!
