Drive over from Portland was beautiful as the Gorge is always beautiful but the scenery on this course is so incredible . If you are not having your best game the scenery make up for it. We wanted to love this place. My husband actually came last year and really enjoyed it. But this year was a different story. Tee boxes have so many chunks missing and are very uneven, much of the grass on the fairway is either dead or missing (causing pockets), and they absolutely drenched the course to the point where there were puddles, mud, and soaking wet greens. It was atrocious. I get there was a heat wave but there seems to be a lack in water drainage that really affected the game.

That was nearly a month ago. Since then, I've sent multiple emails, followed up several times, and even called. To this day, I still haven't gotten an answer to a pretty simple question: What was it? What's frustrating is not the original concern anymore. It's the complete lack of communication. My emails have been opened, I've been told it would be looked into, and then...nothing. I wasn't looking for compensation. I wasn't looking for an argument. I was looking for an answer. The crazy part is my wife and I actually enjoyed our stay, and I had recommended Carson Hot Springs to other people. But when a guest brings a legitimate health or safety concern to your attention, the bare minimum should be a follow-up. At this point, the lack of transparency is more concerning than the thing I originally reported. If the answer is "we looked into it and found nothing," cool. If the answer is something else, cool. Just communicate with your guests. A month without an answer ain't it.

I've golfed here right around 60 times in the last 12 months and can safely say it's a great out-of-the-way track with friendly staff and they take care of their course. For about the price of Glendoveer (without a cart!) you can golf here with a cart and unlimited range balls. Deal...I'm telling you. In fact, I kind of wish I didn't say anything.

Girl golfer here…read more.. You cannot go wrong placing a golf course in the Gorge. This visually stunning par 3 course is challenging and fun! Not only that, you can play golf, fling golf (a Shark tank cross between golf and lacrosse), disc golf, or their putting course in the almost obnoxious Pacific Northwest beauty of the Colombia River Gorge. Staff is very friendly (Guy in the golf shop and the ranger, whose name I didn't catch--super-friendly!). There are cocktails in cans that you can purchase before heading out. We played the golf course and the putting course. It offers challenges in both keeping your ball out of the woods and water and with the fast turf greens. It was a lot of fun and you can't miss out on the scenery (did I already mention that?).

It is not an easy course! Even my husband, who is an avid golfer says so. It is beautiful and despite what you might think, you won't get views of the Gorge here. But you will be ensconced in gorgeous Pacific Northwest trees and hills that will take your breath away. This is an 18-hole course and it appears that some holes share a green with other holes (though, I've only played 9, so I can't say for certain). The fairways are challenging, in that they'll take turns or be quite narrow, edged my foliage or marsh that makes finding a wayward ball challenging. (However, if you have a ball finder, you could come away ball-rich!) they also are dry and patchy, adding to the challenge of the course. The greens are especially challenging because they are not clean and smooth. There are different varieties of grass (weeds?) on them and patches of dry ground. The staff is friendly and the people who golf here are casual and very friendly as well! All in all, I recommend this challenging, beautiful course.

The greens are weeds that are mowed short with wide, open bare patches...very little grass. Tee boxes are gouged up with chunks of turf gone and 4" high grass. The last time I played here a couple of years ago, it was in decent shape. Absolutely to be avoided now.
