Went to The Counter tonight and couldn't believe how packed it was. They haven't even officially opened yet. My favorite part was the service. Our hostess was friendly, our waitress Tammy was patient, kind and attentive and the bartender was personable and made a great mule. We'll be back! read more

We did the custom burger section and it was excellent. Burger cooked just the way asked for: "medium side of medium rare" and that's the way we like it best. Parm fries spot on cooked and very tasty. Beers were really cold in a good way and well served. The service was friendly and excellent. Extra points for being enthusiastic and energetic close to closing. So glad they are open until 10. One person walked in at 10 pm and was ordering as we left. The ambience is sooo much better than the previous places that were here, Burger-something and Newport Ribs. The clean, well-lighted look is much more inviting and welcoming. And all those nice monitors with the spacious covered outdoor patio! The place is only a week old so have some patience for them to work the kinks out. Try the build-your-own burger if you want it cooked just the way you like. We have always enjoyed this offering from The Counter. We are glad to have one closer than Irvine! read more

Food was honestly really bad. Probably worst food experience with a new restaurant. Service was good... if that helps? Great looking venue. Might be good for grabbing a beer if it's not too packed. My wife and I decided to try this place, as it just recently opened. I ordered the BBQ Bacon Burger (medium rare). It was on the veryyyyyy rare side. Fries were soggy and tasted stale. I ordered 4 chipotle aioli sauces and received one. They charged me extra for the others - which I didn't receive. My wife ordered an Old School burger medium well and it was seriously raw, I was afraid that she even took a bite out of it. Burgers were not good. 0/5 Fries were not good. 0/5 LOL They couldn't even deliver the sauces we ordered. 0/5 I'd rather have In-and-Out vs. getting sick at this burger place. I can rely on In-and-Out to serve us cooked meat. read more

We've been coming here nearly every Saturday for over a year! The burgers are absolutely amazing, friendly and adequate service too! One server, Matthew, has repeatedly gone above and beyond to assure great service, even if he's not our server at the time! If a manager or owner of this store happens to read this, definitely give this employee a big raise and seriously consider him for a promotion! read more

Ordered the counter burger with no bun or fried onions. Patty was supposed to be cooked medium. The 1st dish they brought, had a bun so they took my entree back. They brought me the correct order but my patty was cooked rare at best. When I asked the server, she said their burgers are cooked more rare than usual & they were trying to get met entree to me. Umm, ok. Not good reasons for a rare patty. Ate the edges that weren't as pink and left this undercooked portion that of course, I was still charged for. My friend suggested they advise people in advance of the way the patties are cooked less than they way they are ordered. Most of the staff were really nice but it would have been great to have my food cooked so I could eat it. read more

The Counter - Burgers Near Me - Ladera Ranch, California

Rochelle is the best bartender I've ever had.!!! Awesome service!!!! If you come here ask for her.

We hit this place last night, menu is mainly burgers salsa and sandwiches. It was busy so the foot took a little bit longer. We asked different cookeness on our burgués and all of them came medium well. The burgers are good size . Onion rings are too thin so not my thing. We got chicken fingers too. All an all it was barely ok. Not sure if going back read more

This place is very affordable. I sat at the bar , the bartender with short dark was a hard worker. The fries in the chili cheese fries were not good that's why I'm giving 4 stars, but I will be back to try the wings :) read more

Great food! Killer burger and sauces, but most importantly amazing service. Shout out to Jane who's probably the most thoughtful server I've had in a long time! Jane's the best, and more than the food I'd return for service like hers. Thank you! read more

Ate here tonight and everyone loved the food. Nice to sit outside on a warm night. Chicken was juicy with a nice crust. The sliders were plentiful and well done. Of course it's Ladera so there were a bunch of checked out parents letting their kids run around and scream but if you are gonna eat out in Ladera you gotta expect the kids being uncontrolled (looking at you Capo Girls softball team 8U or so - you really are clueless and uncaring). read more

We did not have a good experience with the management here. Got out food and drinks, service was good, we had a BOGO coupon and unfortunately management would not honor it. We ordered a custom burger (which is more expensive ) and also a signature burger, (which is less expensive) apparently the fine print said that it was only for custom burgers. So we ended up paying full price. The manager was rude, and so was I. We will be taking out business elsewhere in the future. read more

Great atmosphere...you have the choice of sitting inside or on the wonderful patio outside. The food is very good (not fancy) and the menu is limited (mostly burgers) but...they are good at what they specialize in (burgers). The chili as a side dish is sublime. Good beer selection, overall a great spot (esp for lunch sitting outside). read more

I just left the Counter in Ladera and it was absolutely delicious. My burger was cooked perfectly medium well like I asked for and the tator tots and onion strings were good and had the right amount of crisp. The staff was friendly and it was clean. My server Jess was super friendly and attentive and was there whenever I needed something. The manager Rochelle came out and said hi to me and asked me how my meal was. It was nice to be in a restaurant where the Mgr actually came out on the floor and checked on the guests. She also helped out in the bar. Will be back soon for sure! read more

My mom and I always come here for lunch and get their lunch special, which is consistent and delicious. We also get tater tots on the side which is So Good, nice and crispy. Salad is delicious. Our server Alison always has great energy and remembers us. I feel like the portions are generous and prices are very reasonable. The outdoor seating is spacious and a great way to enjoy our beautiful weather down here. read more

Wednesday hump day and we decided to treat ourselves. It was my first time at The Counter, yum! We were seated right away. We chose to sit inside because it was a bit chilly tonight but the patio was so peaceful and inviting with the fire and lights strung on the canopy, it was a tough choice. Loved the nostalgic 80s and 90s music playing inside. Who loves "I Can't Wait" by Nu Shooz. LOL We ordered the Beef and Blue burger, the Honey Dijon Chicken Sandwhich and a kids cheeseburger. Food arrived quickly and everything was correct. Salad was fresh, my onion straws came with BBQ sauce and ranch. My chicken sandwhich was juicy and tender. The Beef and Blue was also juicy and the bacon onion jam along with the danish blue cheese made for a delicious tangy and savory mix. read more

We had games at the gym next door and were on a break...headed to The Counter. We had a large group on the patio. It was full of heaters & TV's to watch Sunday football. We ordered bloody Mary's and beers...burgers wings kids meals etc. The Jañapeno burger was amazing. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful! I added an egg. Yum! Fries were hot and delicious. The service was excellent & staff was helpful & friendly. I def recommend this place. read more

Food and service are good but it's always freezing in there! I enjoy a burger on mixed greens. I miss the pesto sauce and goat cheese that used to be on the menu. Bundle up and enjoy! read more

We love this place. The $5 happy hour is perfect. The la run is basically a mai tai. The custom burgers run around $15 and are cooked to perfection. We e been twice in the last week as requested by the birthday boy in our family. Tonight we were pleasantly surprised by the happy hour. Although there was no hostess when we arrived we just sat down inside and waited. The wait was short under 10 mins and we had our food within 15 mins of that. It was a quiet, chill Wednesday afternoon. But we noticed it started to pick up when we were leaving. We really enjoy the outside or inside seating and the service is always super sweet. read more

First time here .. was excited to celebrate my friends birthday! Bartender was a 10/10 but my burger was cold .. should have sent it back but didn't want to make my friend wait. I'll come back and try again but disappointed in this first round. Again , bartender saved this experience! read more

I was excited to try this new place in ladera. So disappointed my burger was raw! And i asked well done since i noticed the previous reviews. We asked for 4 chipotle Aioli and only got one. Got charge extra for it!!! The fries portion was a joke lol.. ill be going to Eureka instead. read more

The service in the Ladera Ranch location was terrible. They got our order wrong and the waitress wasn't very kind. Better service in Irvine and Santa Monica. read more

I'm happy they decided to open a location here. Before WFH I would go to the Irvine location with colleagues at least a few times a month. Very solid burgers, beers, frys, shakes etc. BBQ sauce, Bacon. The 1/3 is the perfect size. You can't go wrong. read more

Dirty poor ambiance . Food ok. Our service was good with help and a small push. Clean the place, clean the tables fix the floor, read more

My family and I love The Counter. We came to try the Ladera location. The staff was absolutely wonderful. Jessica and Sunny were very helpful. Rochelle was fantastic. Very good food at very affordable prices. Place itself is nice and clean with casual and relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing burgers! I love everything about this place. The burgers are juicy and delicious and the service is even better! I will definitely be coming back. read more

I've been here 3 times now and the food and service has been great. The burgers are juicy and super tender. The bun to patty ratio is perfect and the ingredients are fresh. The shoe string fries have great texture and flavor. All in all the food came out hot and in a reasonable amount of time. Once you get eating, it's difficult to stop it's so goood. They have an indoor bar and seating as well as a spacious, outside shaded patio, featuring music and outdoor TVs with table heaters. Come give this place a try! THANK YOU TO ROCHELLE FOR THE GREAT SERVICE!! read more

The food continues to be above average here, as it was when it was BLK Burger for years. Service was good besides a mutual mix up with being quoted Happy Hour prices for our beers on a Sunday and being charged regular prices. (Happy Hour only M-F). One thing that I just don't understand after going there multiple times over the years is the location NOT HAVING SHADES ON THEIR WINDOWS. We were there at 5 PM and it was all but unbearable for half the table sitting next to the window. It was a real hot day and we wanted to sit inside to beat the heat with our party of 8, which, due to the space available inside, limits where you can be seated. Please spend some money against the business and have pull down shades placed on your windows. read more

Fun atmosphere. Friendly, professional staff. Simple but good tasting food. Plenty of options to please anyone.

Friendly service; Fabulous mahi mani salad- generous portion of fish, delicious salad

We frequented the old Irvine location on occasion, and we're happy to have this new location close by. Might try once more, but we were unfortunately disappointed. We wanted so badly for it to be a great new go-to. The food was mostly the same, except all of our burgers were undercooked. Asked for medium well and got very pink. Appetizer fries and onion strings seemed slightly smaller on portion. Service. Everyone was nice, but it was if they weren't trained on how to be servers. They were missing the normal service checklist. Strong greeting, suggest a drink or app. Explain or ask if we understood the way the menu works, check in after food arrived to see if we needed anything or how it came out, etc. When you spend 90 bucks on 4 burgers, I need to feel much better about the experience or otherwise. Why bother? read more

Just came here with our kids basketball team after a game. My wife went to ask the hostess a question about a table and she responded with an attitude and then walked away. Everyone working here had a look of disdain and disgust maybe because they aren't used to seeing so many Asians at the same time. When we got up to leave they looked relieved and we're smiling and laughing amongst themselves. I hope the general manager reads these and addresses this with the staff that was working today (10/15/23) at 1:30PM. read more

DELICIOUS! Those Parmesan fries are sinful. We've been twice now and will return again... and again!

Burgers are awesome and they have a good beer / alcohol menu. Very welcomed addition to Ladera Ranch. Finally a good and reasonably priced burger spot. read more

Great Burger , loved sitting in the outside patio. We were a large group and service was good. Only issue I had was our plates were not cleared when we were done. They ALL stayed on the table until we left. I saw lots of people walking by our table with empty hands who could have easily picked up our dishes. Call me picky, but we probably would have stayed longer but I don't like sitting with a table full of dirty dishes. read more

Wasn't too impressed when we went there today for my birthday. We asked for all burgers to be well done and my kids were very pink. Edible but not what we asked for. We were charged for an upgrade to sweet potato fries but we asked for regular fries so it was their error that they brought sweet potato. We asked to sit outside but they had a big party coming so couldn't accommodate us. Inside the music is really loud. Food was decent but not sure we will rush back. Shoe string fries were well seasoned but i would much prefer regular size fries. read more

Great service and atmosphere. Love the Bison burger with onion straws! The patio has a very nice vibe.

Pretty good burgers. Fresh ingredients. The place was crowded. Pricey, but so it is today.
