I had lunch today at Famoso…read more I love love love pizza. I built my own with pepperoni, Italian ham and cherry tomatoes. It was a delicious pizza! The crust was thin, soft and moist in the middle and chewy and charred along the edge. The sauce was good and there was lots of ingredients on it. Alex was very friendly and chatty. This is a chain and there is one not too far from me in Toronto. I'll be checking it out!

As we were shown to our table in the lounge, I noticed something was off in the air, but didn't put it all together yet. The odor went away, so I thought it was nothing. We ordered drinks and a Chicken Caesar Salad, Chicken Tenders and a Beef Dip. Other than only getting 1/2 a sandwich instead of a full Beef Dip, the food was excellent. HOWEVER, what spoiled the evening was -- when the bartender, who was our sever, returned with the food, SO DID THE ODOR! I asked our table, "Is that HIM"?, and they all nodded YES. I've smelled lacrosse dressing rooms that weren't that bad. I get it, some cultures don't "believe" in deodorant, HOWEVER, when you work in the restaurant service industry - YOU SHOULD! Instead of staying for the game and ordering more drinks, we ate and left. It was gross! Won't be going back

I customized it by adding mozzarella and feta cheese but come to think of it the cheese tasted more like cheddar and mozzarella instead....Hmmm well either way it was delicious. Fantastic location. Fireside Bistro is located in a residential area in the core of Regina. The…read morerestaurant is in an older house which gives it a great local business vibe. The service was prompt and courteous. I ordered the cinnamon bun pancakes. The dish was delicious and decadent. Portions are quite good and the flavor was great. The issue here is it is missing some variety in dishes for those who are vegan or vegetarian. The dishes rely on heavy ingredients such as lots of cream, oil or sugar. Overall the experience was great and would definitely come back.

I've had two disappointing experiences at this restaurant. The first was a few months ago. I was…read moreexcited to finally find a place in Regina offering risotto as a main course. Unfortunately, what I received was nothing close to risotto--it looked like mashed potatoes with cream cheese. When I asked the waitress what type of rice was used, she didn't know and had to check with the chef. She returned saying it was Jasmine rice. For anyone who appreciates authentic cuisine, risotto should be made with Arborio rice, cooked al dente, and prepared with the right ingredients. Calling that dish "risotto" was misleading. Despite that, I decided to give the restaurant another chance because it's close to my workplace. Today, however, I had an extremely uncomfortable experience. I had made a reservation for two yesterday and requested specific dishes (soup and salad). This morning, due to work commitments, I asked the other person to cancel the reservation. Shortly after, I received a call from the owner. His reaction shocked me--he was rude, aggressive, and argumentative, even as I apologized. Instead of trying to understand the situation or find a solution, he kept escalating the conversation. When I tried to mention customer service, he was completely dismissive, so I ended the call. I overlooked my first bad experience and kept going back, but after today, I will never return. Think twice before visiting--if this is how the owner treats customers, imagine how he treats his staff.

First time getting pizza in Canada. I wasn't really impressed…read more Crust was okay and cooked properly. The toppings were weird... pepperoni was more like slabs of spicy ham. The tomatoes were mushy and tasteless. And the cheeses did not taste like real cheese. Now I'm from Wisconsin originally so I'm picky, but this was plastic tasting and even had a plastic texture. Pizza wasn't to my preference. Restaurant was in need of some updates. Place looked like it needed a good hose down. I will not return.
