Overall the experience was great and would definitely come back.

Unfortunately, what I received was nothing close to risotto--it looked like mashed potatoes with cream cheese. When I asked the waitress what type of rice was used, she didn't know and had to check with the chef. She returned saying it was Jasmine rice. For anyone who appreciates authentic cuisine, risotto should be made with Arborio rice, cooked al dente, and prepared with the right ingredients. Calling that dish "risotto" was misleading. Despite that, I decided to give the restaurant another chance because it's close to my workplace. Today, however, I had an extremely uncomfortable experience. I had made a reservation for two yesterday and requested specific dishes (soup and salad). This morning, due to work commitments, I asked the other person to cancel the reservation. Shortly after, I received a call from the owner. His reaction shocked me--he was rude, aggressive, and argumentative, even as I apologized. Instead of trying to understand the situation or find a solution, he kept escalating the conversation. When I tried to mention customer service, he was completely dismissive, so I ended the call. I overlooked my first bad experience and kept going back, but after today, I will never return. Think twice before visiting--if this is how the owner treats customers, imagine how he treats his staff.

This quirky and vibrant restaurant has a prime location in downtown Regina. It's also very family friendly. And the staff are very attentive, which makes me very happy to see. I ordered the Bacon & Buttermilk Waffle ($18). It was good but very sweet. I was in love with giant chunks of bacon IN the waffles. In addition, the presentation was very nice and the flavours worked great together. However, as a natural savoury breakfast lover, I'm glad I went out of my comfort zone but I don't think I would order this again. I'm happy to report that my family members that ordered other sweet items were saying how excited they were to come back again! They loved it and can't wait to try something new next time. Needless to say, my family and I will definitely be returning.

For food, my boyfriend ordered the BBQ Pulled Pork Burger ($21) with French onion soup ($7.5). I ordered the Bacon Mushroom Swiss Burger ($22) with Truffle Fries ($3), a white sangria ($10.5) and crème brûlée ($8) with strawberry compote for dessert. Prices are before tax and tip. The BBQ Pulled Pork Burger and french onion soup were alright. The sangria was absolutely delicious! I highly suggest it. I absolutely loved the mix of peach, pear and orange juice. The crème brûlée was extremely delicious. Best in Regina. Seriously ! And the Keg charges the same price for a THIRD of what Lancaster is offering. I also think their recipe at Lancaster is better. The truffle fries were decent. They were cold unfortunately but I was with a rather large group so I'm not going to fault them for it entirely. I actually think they would have been awesome if they were cooked a little warmer, a little crispier and didn't come with the sauce. I prefer a garlic, truffle and Parmesan flavour for the type of fries. The burger itself was actually pretty good. If it had been warmer, I think the patty itself would have been moister. That being say, it tasted fresh. Honestly I was wondering if it was mixed with bison because of the flavour. I throughly enjoy a gamey flavour and this burger had hints of it. Honestly, this burger is very close to being the best burger in Regina that I've ever had. I want to return and get a genuine sit down dinner experience with no more than 4 people. This place has the potential to produce the best burger in the city!

Food (3.5/5) - Menu has a good selection of appetizers, salads, steaks, seafood and other items. - Pepper Steak Sauté - one of their signature dishes. Pieces of beef tenderloin sautéed with onions, peppers, & mushrooms. Finished with a red wine reduction, & served on a bed of rice. It was ok... nothing special imo. Decent cuts of tenderloin with little fat and the sauce was ok although bit on the bland side. - Side Beef Barley Soup - not a bad side and taste and consistency was good. - Shrimp Cocktail - not what I was expecting and was not good tbh. The shrimps were on the dry side and seafood sauce was very average. I would have preferred a basic cocktail glass of fresh, tender shrimp. Service (3.75/5) - server was friendly and understood the menu well. Slight delay in between dishes and getting bill at end. Atmosphere (4/5) - it is an interesting layout with an old school steakhouse feel with touches of British & Canadian upscale artifacts like the paintings of past prime ministers. Overall (3.75/5) - Overall a more upscale dining experience for Regina. Maybe I should have tried the steak as I thought the food was just average... no better or worse than the Keg.

This was my first trip to Regina and man, am I glad my wife and I came here to eat. Everything from…read morethe food and cocktails to the service to the general decor and vibe of this place were superb. My wife was celebrating her birthday so we indulged in a chef curated four course meal with wine and cocktail pairings and everything was an absolute hit. For our meal, the courses were structured with a few appetizers for the first course, a pasta dish for the second, a fish entree (I requested no red meats) and then a dessert to top it all off. Our appetizers included the house whipped ricotta, the heirloom tomato and compressed melon salad and the seared albacore tuna. I have to say, I've never had melon as good as the melon in the tomato and melon salad. The depth of flavor they achieved with by compressing it with oils and herbs was remarkable, I would come back for that alone and I normally don't like melon. The seared tuna was exceptional, as was the whipped ricotta. All of this was paired with a light sparkling citrus cocktail, which I unfortunately cannot remember what it had in it, but it was my personal favorite of the night. For the pasta course, we had an agnolotti pasta that was filled with what I believe was a delicious ricotta filling and a light tomato sauce, paired with a Cabernet Sauvignon. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the sauce was fresh and herbaceous and it was the right amount to leave you satisfied, but not feeling too full. The cab sauv wasn't over oaked, like most California cabs, but still had that traditional peppery cab sauv taste that paired so well with the pasta sauce. Our main entree was the la ronge walleye paired with a Sauvignon Blanc. The walleye and potatoes were delicious, however I did feel like the fish was overpowered by the spring pea velouté, which was unfortunate but personally, I'm not a massive fan of peas. However, if you like them, this is a great option and the quality of the walleye was top notch. The dessert course was a pistachio & coffee semifreddo with boozy cherries and the cocktail I would describe as sort of a play on an espresso martini, but way better. Both were fantastic! I was really able to detect the pistachio, which I assumed would be masked by the coffee, but I was pleasantly surprised. On top of that, we were also generously given an order of the madeleines for my wife's birthday and we absolutely adored them. They had a light citrus note to them that really enhanced the flavor. Our server was also excellent and very kind. We told him we were from the US and it was our first time in Regina and he gave us a bunch of recommendations for things to check out around the area. The four course meal and cocktails were a wonderful value for the price, I would highly recommend it and I'm excited to come here again!

It was a cold day, but I really wanted to go out for dinner. I'm glad we did! My boyfriend and I…read moreboth ordered the Dill Pickle Burger ($23.99). But I specifically got chippers with garlic aoli and he got coleslaw. I also got the chocolate almond torte ($12) to go. We had a fun time guessing the decor theme. Spoiler: It's Vintage Industrial. I'll start off with the negatives. My truffle aoli was warm, I would have preferred it cold. My guess is that it was freshly made, but the mayo was opened as brand new. I only tasted mayo. The plates are nice, but because the burger patties are specially smash patties, they a lot of grease which unfortunately pools and leaks off the plate. Without a rim to stop the grease, I had to put my napkin down to stop it from leaking off the plate. The Gravelbourg Dill Pickle Mustard only really tasted like mustard. I would have preferred fresh dill sauce, heavy on the fresh dill. I didn't taste any dill as the mustard overshadowed it on top of all the other flavours. As for the coleslaw, my boyfriend is a big fan of coleslaw but found that it tasted like yogurt. Now as for the torte... I felt it was very over priced, the almond extract flavour was too strong and the layers weren't even. But there are a lot of positives ! Our server was extremely friendly, everything is 15% off regular priced items in January and the food was good! The chippers were phenomenal. Seriously, perfect seasoning with the thickness. I wanted more. The burgers were massive, neither of us finished them. The patties themselves tasted better than more than half the patties in this city. Good quality. There was a generous amount of pickles on this burger, which was exactly what I was looking for. And the fresh pretzel buns are unique and delicious. I loved these buns as they brought more depth to the flavours and they were great quality. I would recommend this restaurant. However I am concerned that their menu is too vast... But if they made it smaller and narrowed their focus, they have the potential of being extraordinary.
