One of our favorite places with friends to lunch and we always had a great server, although I don't…read moreremember her name. She always knew what we wanted to drink before we ordered it and was always very attentive and eager to please. We went for lunch on August 13/26. We were the only table there. Our regular server greeted us with a big hello and a big smile and sat us at our table. Then, a new server came and she took our order. She was very pleasant. I ordered my usual full size Caesar Salad and friend ordered Yam Fries and a full size Garden Salad. We were very disappointed in the size of the salads. I use to get the grilled Caesar which was 1/2 of a head of romaine and 2 pieces of garlic toast. They stopped serving this and just made regular Caesar Salad, which was probably still close to a half a head. This day, we received a very small small portion (I don't think it was even a 1/4 head) and only one piece of garlic toast. My friend received no garlic toast. The prices were the same as before. By the time we received our order, there was another table, so 2 tables in the restaurant. Our server didn't come to check on us. We had to call her over the first time we needed more drinks. The second time, I wanted to order another entree (Brie & Berries) as I was still hungry and my friend had to go find her. The third time we had to go find her so we could get our bill. During this entire time, the manager and another employee were sitting at a table in the same area, but both were totally ignoring us even though they saw us having to go hunt down our server. A good manager should have noticed this, especially when he was sitting just a few feet from us. How was the food? It was very good, as usual. Will I go back? Yes, I will give it another try, but will not order any salads, and if service is the same, I won't be going back again.

The chips would have been good had they not been doused in salt. I like salted food as I think salt adds to the taste but not to the degree that the food has almost a metallic taste. I may have enjoyed the fish had it not arrived soaked in grease. There's no excuse for that. Every Chinese restaurant in Regina puts out deep fried items that are far superior. They pay attention to draining the grease and care about how their food presents, Joey's obviously doesn't. If, like me, you enjoy fish and chips, I recommend you avoid Joey's and order from somewhere else or deep fry them yourself. You'll have a much better meal.

So awhile back one of the bartenders (a young blond) banged a bar stool against my side when she…read morebrought it back to the bar. She obviously had a bad day but usually you apologize for that (especially to an innocent customer). Told management, didn't get an apology, and haven't been back since. I was completely nice and professional when I told the manager too. Trust me as someone who has bartended alot of customers would have made a BIG SCENE. Never asked for a discount of a gift card (as scammers do) it was just about courtesy and respect. I had gone here for years and spent a lot of money (and never had any issues or bothered anyone). That's how you treat regulars? Wanted to let it go but I just needed an apology, that's it. Do the owners think this is acceptable because some of the clientele there is rough? Do they think it's appropriate for staff to basically hit customers who are minding their own business and not even say sorry? It's silly that after taking to the manager and sending an email I got no apology or response in the latter case. Any respectable chain or restaurant would have done so. That's why I posted this, because they think this is fine.

Wow, a great surprise since I am always amazed that the best food can be hidden in simple strip malls but hey! this is Canada and the best is often modest and understated here. We all chose one thing and then shared it all as a group and so yummy. The spring rolls were lovely and had a wonderful soft wrap that I hadn't seen before, even in New York or other large cities. Good service, and for dessert (so to speak) I had a cup of their coffee which was so good - strong drip coffee with sweetened condensed milk at the bottom. You had to stir it up to see it but, gosh. A little bit of heaven for sure.
