Good food but expensive prices, and service is reminiscent of European restaurants. We came across this restaurant and thought their outdoor seating looked ideal. Unfortunately it turned out every table was reserved except for the one next to a group of 3 ladies. We ended up sitting there and regretting this decision as our table was only about 2 feet away from them and we got to enjoy their coughing and conversation all night, as if we were at the same table. We just wanted to relax and enjoy a nice dinner and we couldn't even hear each other talk, that's how bad it was. We ordered: Guinness ($5.50) - this was good, hard to mess up. Tropical Daiquiri (~$12) - supposed to be a blended drink of fruity alcohol. I ordered this because it was really hot and sounded appealing. Unfortunately it was like drinking a thick fruit smoothie, and I couldn't taste any alcohol at all. It was really filling like a smoothie too and overall just not what I was looking for. 1/5 Smokey Duck Pizza ($20) - Smoked cheese, shredded duck, red onion, chorizo, chimichurri sauce, and sundried tomato. This was great, really flavorful and huge. Very stringy cheese though. 3/5 Burger (~$20?) - I forget what was on this but it was basically a massive juicy burger and it was fantastic. 4/5 So service was very laidback, we had to keep getting their attention when we wanted something. When it came time to pay the bill we had to ask for the bill, and then we had our card sitting there on the table for about 10 minutes until we finally gave up and actually got up and went inside to find someone. Super annoying when you're sitting next to a table of people talking loudly and over one another. I wouldn't come back based on our experience.

Cornstore is one of the top restaurants in city center cork. The food and drinks are top notch and the place to go when you are looking for a nice fancy meal with friends, family, or even a solo outing. I found Cornstore from other reviews on yelp and was drawn to the seafood dishes, delicious looking desserts, and as the fact that they have cocktails!!! The main course that I ordered was the pan seared salmon. It was delicious and had a light cream sauce that left my tastebuds delighted. Now what sets this restaurant above the rest is cocktails. It's not common to find restaurants with cocktails in the area so this was a welcomed delight. There were limited cocktail options but none the less, great crafted options. For dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake which was delicious as well. I left happy with the experience and with that Cornstore is a must in center city cork!

Fish (chips not pictured but they had a delicious seasoning on them)

The food was amazing! I got the fillet and my husband got the fish and chips, we got the beetroot appetizer as well. Service was exceptional. Our waitress was very attentive. Definitely recommend

Very fresh fish! Yum! Outdoor heated seating available Food was tasty, very fresh -- YUM. Would pass on desserts though - SEA BASS (€24, yay): veggies quite salty but sea bass was perfect, enjoyed the potato mash thing as well - CHEESE PLATE (€10, ok): big portions here though the spiced apple chutney was a definite paS - FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE CAKE(€7, pass): wasn't a huge fan of the texture, a bit too sweet as well TLDR; a bit pricey but worth it for the very fresh seafood

    Flourless chocolate cake. Wow!

This restaurant was amazing. We had a group of 7, called that morning to make a reservation, had no issues. The service was impeccable and the food was incredible. If you are in Cork and want a nice restaurant worth every penny you spend, then you must eat here.

    Sunday Roast Platter

I can't speak for any other part of the menu but we came on a Sunday afternoon and had the Sunday lunch roast platter. It was phenomenal. Everything came out with great flavor and I didn't need to salt a single thing. Not even the potatoes (two varieties, roasted and mashed). The Yorkshire pudding was to die for and the veggies were perfect cooked. The meat was moist and tender. An absolutely perfect Sunday roast! Would highly recommend.

Major props to The Cornstore for accommodating my party of two on a weekend night. The night before, I had arrived late to Cork and didn't have a proper dinner. Despite living through the pain of only eating drunk pizza while sober, I didn't consider dinner in advance yet again. Fortunately, the sweet hosts at the Cornstore took my name and number, and soon thereafter, our party was seated. We were in the middle so we got bumped around a bit, but they were still very nice and generally fast. I had a delicious and perfectly juicy burger as well as a local cider on ice. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite of my meal and every sip of my cider. The environment was awesome as well! I wouldn't recommend taking the risk I did. Be sure to make a reservation here instead!

Pan Seared Salmon with New Crushed Potatoes, Sweet Pepperanatta, Pea and Bacon Buerre Blanc; Cornstore, Cork, Irleand

We dined here our first night in Cork, Ireland. I really enjoyed the atmosphere. We were a party of eight with reservations. Everyone enjoyed beer, wine and cider before ordering our delicious meals. I had the Pan Seared Salmon with New Crushed Potatoes, Sweet Pepperanatta, Pea and Bacon Buerre Blanc which was quite delicious and cooked perfectly. Others at the table enjoyed Baked Cannelloni of Butternut Squash with goat's cheese, pine nuts, spinach and figs with sundried tomato pesto; Gnocchi, and Chicken Breast, Mushroom Tart, Ginger Glazed Carrots with a Pea Bacon Burre Blanc. I can tell you that the Mushroom Tart was fabulous. The presentation, service and flavor of the food was much to my liking. I would recommend Cornstore to anyone wishing to enjoy great atmosphere and delicious food.

There's a front bar where you can grab food, there's a back bar with a smoking area that sometimes has a DJ, and an upstairs that feels more like a proper cocktail bar - and probably more areas I've yet to explore. The food smelled delicious and I would've totally tried it had I not eaten before. I explored around a bit and ultimately hung out upstairs at the bar. The bartender that night was so friendly! We talked about everything from art to travel to politics. She was the best and made a mean cocktail. Not to mention, the entire place is decorated fantastically. It used to be an old pharmacy and ties in a lot of that history into the decor, including a bar made of old pharmacy ledgers. You could spend so much time just looking around at all the details and exploring each room. I hear it gets pretty lively here on weekends, especially with the college kids, but this particular Monday night was fairly quiet. I would definitely return if I'm ever in Cork again!

It made me feel very uncomfortable and people go to bars to relax and unwind, not to see and hear divisive political issues. Really disappointed to see a display like that in an otherwise excellent pub.

The second night I had an appetizer of seafood chowder and the John Dory fish. The cheese cake was unique, , very satisfying taste of cocoa, and the crunchy and gritty texture really felt like Ferrero Roche. For the other dishes I found something interesting. The prawns and crab sandwiches tasted standard, but the oily sauce (prawns) and the sweet and sour puree (crab sandwiches) had exquisite flavor that made one want to finish them all with a piece of bread (which I did). On the other hand, the John Dory was nicely done, texture spot-on, juicy and savoy flavor, but the white sauce looked broken and watery, and the taste was a bit on the bland side. In general I enjoyed my experience, but I wonder if they could match the quality of the sauce and the main ingredients better :)
