An absolutely fabulous, relatively new establishment in the heart of historic Ludlow.
The interior is clean, fresh and very comfortable, casual in atmosphere.
We just happened upon it for dinner, arrived right as they opened and had an absolutely wonderful dinner.
Starting off with a bottle of Pinot Noir, from Romania, it was excellent. We had water brought as well. It's so nice as now they readily offer water around Europe.
We started with some Japanese dumplings for an appetizer. They were delicious with a soy dipping sauce. Some nice unique greens, similar to watercress, surrounded it.
For my main I chose the Minted Lamb Cutlets in a cranberry sauce. Ed chose the Sea Bass. Both of us were quite pleased with the choice.
My cutlets were perfectly prepared and succulent, good quality and delicious.
You get to select two sides from the menu and we both chose the "mixed" vegetable medley and the au gratin ("Dauphinoise") potatoes.
Again, excellent complimentary selection for both main dishes, and delicious.
It was impressive to see some vegetarian options too.
We usually skip dessert but everything was so good we selected a berry crumble and ice cream to share, and again it was absolutely wonderful. The crumble was nicely warmed.
What was impressive was the care of preparation of each dish, with obviously very fresh ingredients and the beautiful plating and presentation of each one.
These folks know how to run a quality restaurant.
Our server was delightful, engaging, helpful and ever so professional. Everything was served on time with a smile.
We watched her ever so strategically navigate the stairs with the food as the kitchen is on the upper floor.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Go and have a top notch experience in casual dining. read more
