We had a delicious Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and 2 different types of Tarts. The White Chocolate Mousse was also incredible! The chef even popped out of the kitchen to visit us and check on our food. I would definitely come back again if possible. It is in a courtyard setting which used to be a pub. There is an alley with the bar one side and the main restaurant on the other side. Couldn't get into main restaurant as it was fully booked. So was offered a table in the adjacent Globe Bar which serves Thai Tapas and acts as a stand alone bar. As we are both disabled the waiting on staff offered us a ramp up into the bar. We ordered our meal at the bar and was offered Thai Prawn crackers with a chilli dip for £2. Shortly after arriving and tucking into the Crackers our meals arrived. These were very well presented on square plates. My wife ordered a Thai Green curry which she found to be a bit too hot to her liking, I ordered a mild stir fry with chicken and cashew nut so we swapped. My curry was indeed even too hot to my taste but netherless it was very tasty and chicken was very tender and not dry. My wife's carer ordered a similar dish to myself with prawns and muscles. All the meals came with ample helpings of rice which was included in price of meal which is very good as it is usually charged for seperately. It was all very nice. We have been to upmarket restaurants in central Birmingham and this is 10 times better. Would definitely go there again as the food was very good and would recommend it to any of our friends. One downside is their access, as they do not have a wheelchair accessible toilet, although the staff are friendly and helpful. And as the food was so nice it didn't really bother us. We visited there in the evening, but would go for lunch there next time. For 2 courses for £10 you can't really complain. If you have not been before Ludlow is a beautiful town and well worth the long trip even just for the scenery. Clee hill gives you very good views.

It came highly recommended by our host at the B&B we were staying. The café is adorable! They have outdoor seating, but it was a bit chilly and damp (what else is new?), so we opted for the cozy warmth of the indoors. It's a relatively small space- it probably seats 25 to 30 people. It's a popular place and it seemed the tables were constantly full (so make reservations). We ordered 4 entrées to share- 2 plates of Gnocchi (with Italian style pork, fennel and garlic sausage ragu, and a green salad); a beet salad with avocado and caramelized onions (which was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!) and to round things out, Tagliatelle (which had asparagus, tomato, anchovy, chili and green olive sauce). Everything was delicious. Continuing the theme of being indulgent (aka greedy), we followed that up with lemon polenta cake (with Greek yogurt) and their version of a pavlova. Both desserts are light and tasty! The Green Café did not disappoint! It was a stunning start to fantastic food weekend! Even though I am based 3.5 hours away in London, I will definitely be back and highly recommend that you venture to Ludlow for this very affordable and incredible restaurant!

The evening menu was a set price for either 2 or 3 courses, we went for the two courses (£20), and judging by the portion sizes we were served, neither of us could have hoped to manage three courses, to say the portions were generous was an understatement! Plumping for the main/dessert option, we picked from a fairly comprehensive choice that included confit of duck, rabbit cassoulet etc. My wife went for the Coq au vin, a generous bowl of perfectly cooked and seasoned chicken, with accompanying crisp garlic potatoes, a stunning main course. I went for the seafood and chorizo paella, with a haddock fillet, again enough for food for two people, with generous portions of squid and prawns. After such quality food, we both could have easily stopped there, but the nature of the deal, means you have paid for two courses. When ordering the staff were very friendly & helpful, they were also wonderful with my daughter who had some four-year old questions about some of the meals & offered to make adjustments to the dishes if required. The food was delicious, we were visiting mid-week & chose a selection of the sandwiches which were all generously sized (despite being from the 'light' menu) & very fresh. We were sat on the second floor & so had an enjoyable view over the rest of the square, the entire bar was well laid & tastefully decorated, with a relaxed atmosphere - certainly somewhere we'd eat again on a return visit to Ludlow.
