This recently-opened restaurant by the River Severn takes the place of a long-established Italian eatery. Booking for twelve of us on Tuesday evening proved little problem, although parking four cars presented something of a challenge.
The menu was fairly simple with a range of starters, salads, pasta, pizza and grills. Many of us chose grilled king prawns with a rocket concoction and this was good, although we would have preferred to have had an individual fingerbowl for each diner! The main courses were well-received with trout, carbonara and meatballs with pasta getting special mention. The cooking was good and, for a small establishment, to get a dozen dishes on the table, all hot and fresh, at the same time they did very well. The wine list was good about half a dozen each of white and red and inexpensive. The pinto grigio had an extraordinary vanilla bouquet but tasted OK. We weren't inclined to have a second bottle of that. With wine (eight bottles, I think), some desserts and coffees, the bill came to £320.
