NOTE: I have an extensive email trail to document everything contained in this review. I worked extensively with business owner, Tim Tyler, for more than two years getting my laptop upgraded and various issues resolved. In August 2018, he agreed to provide my niece a laptop for a good price, $350, which included Windows and MS Office, and all packaging and shipping costs. He claimed the laptop was damaged in shipping. I do not know if this is the case or not, as he never provided me a tracking number initially. Because we had, what I thought, was a good working relationship, I trusted what he told me. It wasn't until January, 2019 the laptop was finally delivered to my niece. And then it shut down on her and she had to find someone to reload Windows on the machine. After that, she and I both began receivieving messages that Windows was unlicensed and everytime we opened an MS Office application that the product was unlicensed. Tim told me over and over it was a virus. I tried repeatedly to make an appointment with him to resolve the issue. I was in Washington State for most of January and February, so would have had to resolve the problem remotely. Finally, after I returned to Louisville in late February, he provided license keys for Windows, which fixed the issue. If those license keys would have been loaded in the August timeframe, when I had my computer upgraded, we would not have gotten the messages for Windows. The message was coming up every 2 - 3 minutes and I had to close the window to proceed using the laptop. I pleaded with Tim to get the laptop to my niece, and he repeatedly said he was busy with other clients, busy traveling, and had even had some health problems. I tried for months after he'd upgraded my laptop in August to get a hold of him, and for months he was unreachable. I was beside myself. As a writer, I depend on MS Word. My laptop was frustrating to use because the unlicensed software messages popped up continually. Tim did, at threat of negative reviews, provide both myself and my niece valid licenses for Windows. The licenses he provided us for MS Office were not valid licenses. After pressing Tim over and over, accusing him of selling me pirated software, I got nowhere. He wanted to physically take my laptop to resolve the issues. I was adamant I did not want Tim to have physical access to my laptop, and that we could resolve the issue by phone. This would have been a simple fix if he had valid software license keys. He never provided them for MS Office. I have had to make arrangements for licensed copies of MS Office to be installed on both my laptop and my nieces laptop at an additional cost to me. When I purchased the laptop for my niece in August, I foolishly made a cash transaction with Tim for which I did not obtain a receipt. My fault. during the months of January and February I repeatedly asked for invoices of all the work he had done for me in 2018 and he never addressed my requests, and of course I never received that documentation from him. read more

I contacted Tim on January 22, 2019 to inquire about a motherboard for my Sony Vaio laptop. I supplied Tim with the make and model of my laptop, and he said he had a motherboard at his shop that would work, and he would be able to repair it in the same day for $60. I found the price to be reasonable, so I agreed to drop my laptop off later that week in order for it to be repaired. After dropping off my laptop, Tim said that the motherboard indeed needed to be replaced, but the motherboard he had at his shop would not work, and that he would have to order one. He priced a replacement motherboard for $130 plus $60 in labor, and that it would arrive in 2-3 days. Given that the price was reasonable, I inquired about a replacement processor as well, and he said it would be an extra $170 in parts, and that labor would not be extra. Tim met up with me at my work to receive that cash that he requested. I waited until Jan 31 to inquire about the status of my laptop, as I assumed it would take at least until Wednesday for the parts to be delivered, and it would require additional time for the parts to be installed. Tim said the parts had not been delivered, but he would let me know when they would arrive. I agreed and patiently waited until early the following week. After contacting Tim again without any communication from him, Tim said the processor had been received, but that the motherboard had not. I again patiently waited and received no communication from him. Once I was able to get in touch with him, he said the motherboard had arrived, but that it was the incorrect socket and therefor wouldn't work. Tim was supposed to supply me with the tracking information for the motherboard and have it repaired by 2-11-219. Tim has ignored my phone calls and text messages demanding back my laptop and money, even after threatening to seek legal representation. Update: As of 11-7-2019, I still have not received my laptop, not have I been refunded any cash paid. read more
