We had a iPhone emergency when weekend traveling (it fell in the mud) and used Yelp to find our rescue. The guy was really really attentive, careful and patient in saving our phone. Price was perfectly perfect for all the time he spent - and did I say he did it right there and then for us? This shop is in an odd converted building but we did figure out how to get to it. I'm a freelance writer whose livelihood depends on my laptop. The Computer Bug guru, hereafter The Computer Saint, scraped me off the floor when I brought in my laptop with a display screen that had flipped out, gently took my laptop from my desperate clutches, sent me on my way with a much needed reassuring word, and called me a couple hours later with the welcome news that he had fixed it. Hi-ho all! :-) My name is Michel Gaudet, and I have lived in Adams, MA for close to 24 years, in the same home. N.Adams, where 'The Computer Bug' is located, is about six miles north on Highway 8. I go up into N. Adams quite often, lately for some GREAT fried chicken_ but THAT is another review for later - hee hee. I believe I am one of the LONGEST known customers of Steve, the owner of the store. I was a customer for his FIRST store at 85 Main street, then he moved a few blocks to a much better location, and NOW he's done and moved a third time, but just about a mile or so from where he use to be; hope he sticks his butt in one spot for a while - LOL!!! :-D I couldn't tell you exactly how long I have known Steve and his son, also Steve, who now works with him. But it HAS been since he first opened his shop up. I believe he started doing 'his thing' around 2000, but I KNOW it was after Sissy, my late wife, died in 2004 when I got to know him, shortly after his store opened at 85 Main Street. The very first person I saw was a very lovely young woman (At the time, I was and still am an "Old-fart") who was helping out 'Dad' when he would be IN THE BACK working on something. Steve popped-out shortly, and I knew right away I had FOUND someone I could trust, with none of the BS you get from certain other folks who 'fix' computers. So, guess I have known Steve for long enough to KNOW you will not find a better person, along with son Steve. Speaking of THE SON, he isn't called 'Steve Jr.' - just 'Steve', like his dad. And, he does wonderful work restoring your old photos. He did one of my dad that I had taken WAY back in the 1970s, a black & white, and printed/developed in my darkroom. I was in a rush and didn't wash the 'hypo' out quite well enough, so back in about 2000 or so, it started 'spotting', and by a few years ago, it was looking BAD. I took it to young Steve, and he did a FANTASTIC job on it!!! I would of kissed him, but he's not cute enough. So I sort of cried a bit instead, mostly on the inside, because the result made me so happy. I do not know what else I can say about "The Computer Bug" that will tell you how much I trust the two guys. I can't prove it, but sometimes I think I have been given REALLY good pricing on some of the work done for me; can't SWEAR to that, but some of the things he has done for me would have cost THREE TIMES MORE at that BIG BOX STORE; the one with the little cars - know-what-mean, butter bean? Steve TRULY make you feel like he REALLY appreciates the faithful customer, and the way he talks to the customer is nice; like he really, really cares about your feelings. You know, I really like the guy... and his son to., who's really NOT a 'boy', but when you get my age, anyone under 30 - BOY or GIRL. Well, unless somehow proven differently - like a young fire-person or police officer, or the military :-). But young Steve really ain't a kid_ much be mid 20s or so by NOW. Seriously, if y'all need a system looked at, PLEASE go to 'The Computer Bug FIRST, then shop around a bit - YOU'LL SEE. Oh; you can thank me later. I'm easy to find. Just ask Steve. read more
