This store has, by far, the worst customer service (Sarah Obong and Lily Rivera) I have ever experienced. I have a sprained wrist and ordered a brace online. I paid for expedited shipping because I needed it fast. It arrived but it was the wrong item. I called and then had to spend an ENTIRE DAY on and off the phone with these people because they first refused to acknowledge they sent the wrong item, then they tried to tell me I had to pay 50% more for the replacement item because it was listed incorrectly on their website. Then they said I'd have to send the wrong item back, and once they received it, they'd send the correct item. Which would take weeks. Literally any other company would immediately acknowledge their mistake, and send the correct item via priority mail. That's just normal business practice. Would they maybe lose a bit of money on that? Yes, but they made a mistake and in business, mistakes are costly and not put onto the customer who's fault it was not. I had to fight tooth and nail just to get them to even accept that they even have to do ANYTHING about the fact that they sent me the completely wrong item. I am INJURED and paid for a medical device and am just waiting and waiting and they wouldn't (and still won't) send it to me. I spent hours on the phone with these people and they kept having to call me back with a new "offer". I finally lost my will to fight and told them to just send the correct item to me with normal shipping, because they refused to expedite it and I just wanted my brace and I was so tired of dealing with them. They agreed they would send it right away via standard shipping and I could return the incorrect item once I receive the new one. Well 6 days later, I still don't have my brace so I reach out. They tell me they've been waiting to receive the incorrect item back so they haven't even shipped my item!!! I cannot believe the incompetence of this company and flat out disregard of their customers. Do not shop here!!! You will certainly regret it. Update: it's been a month since I first ordered the brace and they are just now emailing me to tell me that if I take down my negative review of them, they will then send me the correct item that I originally ordered. lol wow. My wrist is now healed so I don't even need the brace any more. I ended up paying hundreds of dollars to go to the doctor and get a brace from them. Everyone that works here is good at what they do! I was seen within 15min of my appointment time and the Tech cautiously measure my legs, being mindful that certain areas were more sensitive due to my varicose veins. Went into the store in NYC after seeing Dr. Gave them prescription that the Dr had given me. I told them I wanted toeless stockings as Dr recommended and they measured me. Paid at cashier and when I got home I realized they had given me wrong compression stockings. I asked two times for open toe with two different people. The prescription was definitely marked toeless compression stockings by the Dr. I had to go back the next day to exchange but they did not have in stock. I feel they tried to sell me what they had in stock and was not sincere. Still waiting for toeless compression stockings to be sent to me. On july 25, they (now called compression health)charged me $49 shipping for overnite delivery of a $40 item. the item arrived 4 days later. instead of embarrassment and contrition, they tried to bargain me down to the price of 2nd day air. when i refused, they refunded $43 (Less 7 for standard shipping). On August 10, i ordered 3 items which their website said were in stock. on august 14 they said the items were on back order and not expected until august 18. on august 19, they said the items were on back order and expected on august26. their phone person tried to explain away the company not disclosing the out of stock status during the purchase prcoess with the excuse "what is is online is automated," as if this lame excuse eliminates legal responsibility to truthfully represent what is being sold, which responsibility includes item availability. They then offered a "take it or leave it refund option, which ignored the 16 days opportunity they cost me to obtain the items from a different seller at a fair price. read more

I was recently was diagnosed with lymphodema, my doctors at Weil Cornell gave me a prescription for compression stockings and recommended I get them at The Compression Store. To be honest, I was a bit nervous. The idea of "what if" and "what will it be like" kicked in. That being said, the whole idea of wearing a garment like that was really off putting and I wasn't looking forward to it. But I did it, I finally got around to going to the store and know what? It wasn't as bad as I thought. The store was bright, cheerful and welcoming. There was a lot of different colors and styles of compression garments. The staff was great! Everyone was wearing masks and practiced safe distancing. A very nice lady named Megan helped me out, she took me to a private office in the back of the store to get measurements. Megan explained the process and showed me the some of the stockings. It was so easy! One of the best parts of today, was finding out a GREAT way to put stockings on. (I wish I knew this 10 years ago!) In all, getting fitted for compression stockings isn't bad. It's not uncomfortable and it's not anything to worry about. The people who work here are great. A bit of wait as no one was at the front desk upon arrival. Once acknowledged, Arnica was quite helpful. Avoid this company at all costs ! Their prices are no better than anybody else is online and their customer service is the worst I've ever experienced whether it be online or at a brick-and-mortar store. I placed an order and went to cancel it less than 30 minutes later calling their customer service line. They couldn't even find the order after I gave them all the information that was available to me, ie: order number, customer ID number,transaction number, email address, name. Assured me on the phone when they got the information they would cancel this order and send me an email, surprise no email ! So I contacted them the following day to make sure the order had been canceled they told me it had been I asked for an email confirmation and what I got was a confirmation that the order was still placed and they would notify me when the order shipped !! Apparently I was invisible. Human contact impossible. Waiting for a long time to be helped while there was only one customer in the store. When that customer finally left after trying to check out several times but getting pushed into more merchandise (everything full list price) and they were finally gone. After all that, I asked for compression gloves and the person behind the counter said, "Oh, they have to measured and we don't do that on Sundays". So, she would not sell them. This is why we read articles on why free standing retailers are going to be a thing of the past. I'd rather buy multiple pairs at amazon and keep returning them till I get the right pair. read more

These folks are perfectly pleasant, but they are not efficient, and they are price gougers. I went to them to get something to wear around my head and neck to reduce my lymphedema. They "measured" me and ordered the garment. When it came, I tried it on and it was too small around my neck. So much for professional fitting. They eventually ordered an extender and informed me that it had arrived, and I should come and pick it up. I took the time and went to the store at lunch. "OOPS - it's not here! Can you come back? Two weeks later it finally came. I confirmed that it had arrived, and went to the store. When I arrived they were trying to bill my insurance, but were having trouble doing so. They had already billed my insurance for two garments. The extender was a piece of velcro as big as my hand. Unable to figure out how to charge the insurance company, they wanted me to pay out of pocket, and and wanted $30 apiece for two of them. Appalled at their avarice, I refused and walked out. I will make one myself. I wonder how much they paid for the extenders. I am sure they made a bundle on the garments they sold me. I guess it just wasn't enough profit. read more

They have a dressing room at the store where they measured me for stockings - resulting in a perfect fit - and kept my information for reorders over the phone. After waiting literally for weeks I finally get an appointment for fitting orthotics, and after making an impression of my feet I was told my insurance won't cover it? Transacted entirely over phone/web/email as I knew what size and model I needed. Very easy purchase, took all my info (prescription, insurance, etc) over web upload and email, friendly service (Malky). They submit to insurance for you. Of course none of this should be groundbreaking but for some reason medical supply stores are usually AWFUL to deal with (eg my local store that couldn't look up the sigvaris model number and wouldn't deal with insurance) so this was a breath of fresh air. read more

I purchased a custom glove that cost me $336, out of pocket. I had to send it back 3 times for shotty craftsmanship. 1st glove was so tight it turned my fingers blue, and caused my hand to swell more. The 2nd time the pinky was sewn out of the side of the finger next to it and the pinky was the longest finger on the glove, it looked freakish and was obviously made incorrectly but they sent it to me like that anyway. The 3rd time the panel that was sewn in on the original order to control swelling on top of my hand was left out altogether. By this time 3 months have passed and I never had the opportunity to wear the glove which I needed to control my hand swelling. I spoke to Megan (my fitter) about a refund. She told me to give her a few days to contact the vendor and she would refund my money. I tried contacting her after waiting an additional 2 weeks for my refund and she was avoiding my calls at that time. They never refunded my money and the only way I got my money refunded was to call my bank and dispute the charge after explaining how Meagan was avoiding my calls. I will never recommend this store to anyone and I will be letting my lymphodema therapist know that they should be taken off the list of recommendations to other patients. They are liars and crooks. I can't believe that a company that carries compression garments for people with medical issues would take advantage of them and steal their money. I hope they close down and go out of business. They staff was horrible and very uncaring. They were very rude when I tried to get info about the vendor and refused to put me through to their supervisor, to resolve this. I wish I had read their reviews before I went to them because there were plenty of negative reviews all relating to this store stealing other people's money, like they tried to do with me. My experience with this store was horrible. I gave them 1 star only because I couldn't write a review without doing so, but they don't even deserve 1 star. read more

Skip this store. Poor service. Careless execution. Rude, distracted staff seemingly unfamiliar with their products. I was sent a compression sock that was not the brand, color or style I ordered after spending at least an hour in the store to be measured and to carefully discuss what I needed so nothing would go amiss. I asked for what I wanted by specific brand name, color and style and even pointed to what I wanted on a well-labelled display. After a detailed discussion of pricing, I agreed to pay more to get the color I wanted and was assured that the product would be customized to my specifications. What arrived was short vs knee high, an ugly color and a brand I'd never heard of. And it wasn't custom, it was off the shelf. The company refused to send me the correct item I ordered or return my money. I was told i could switch colors--but the stocking was short vs a tall sock I require for my edema, which was actually something the sales girl told me. The third person who got on the phone with me tried to tell me that this was what I had ordered. I even got hung up on. I could have just gone to the web to order and done better.
