First time at the Comedy Vault and it was a success. Similar to other comedy venues, there was a 2 item minimum. We ordered a couple of drinks and snacks. Due to the minimum, we felt that the snacks menu is limited especially for a 7:30 show. The mozzarella sticks should have been warmer so that a modest cheese pull could have been completed. The spinach artichoke dip was average but it was nice to see some fresh veggies included as the side. The drinks were solid and fairly priced as well. The staff were prompt and brought things items out in a reasonable time. Seating is tight. There is minimal room in between tables and chairs. This is a more intimate venue and you may share a table with other patrons. Not a big deal for me as we're all there to have a good time. The openers were great and the main act was no exception. I would easily come back but would choose to dine elsewhere and save my 2 items for the drink menu.

Let's get this show on the road

A very neat place to see a comedy show. We had tickets in advance for the early afternoon show to see Kevin Nealand. There was a two drink minimum which was explained to us upon being seated. We ordered our first drink right away (I think you could also get a food item to count toward the minimum). The waitstaff were really hustling prior to and during the show, it was excellent service. Since we didn't have VIP tickets, we had the choice of sitting along the wall (nope...it was terrible, there were wooden posts in front of some of those seats) or on the left side of the stage which were great seats. We chose the left of the stage and were not disappointed. It has good audio in the place, comfortable yet a bit crammed seating. It was a sold out show so I assume they were packing in as many people as possible. There were some bar food items on the menu which was nice to offer in case you needed a snack. The items were the average mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, beer nuggets and fried pickle spears. Also noted there were nachos, spinach dip, veggies and hummus, and chicken bites. We already had a meal prior, so we just got drinks. They had a huge selection of drinks, from wine, craft beer, signature cocktails, nonalcoholic drinks, wine, seltzers, mixers, domestics and imports. If you can't find something to drink here you are too picky! The only, onlllllyyyyy thing that completely ruined our show was one very loud and obnoxious woman shouting and laughing like a sick hyena directly behind us. Seems there is one in every crowd... but THIS time was BAD. EVERYone turned around to stare at her repeatedly, and unfortunately the more people turned around to look at her the louder she got. The poor waitstaff really couldn't do anything about this disruptive behavior ... I mean, it IS a comedy show. It's too bad though, couldn't hardly hear the punchlines. This building used to be an old bank years ago. The bar is located inside the old bank vault, hence the name of the bar is "The Vault" -- VERY cool!!! I would come back to see another show for sure.

First time going to a comedy show, love that it's local and we don't have to go super far. Got there before show time because their website does state first come first serve seating. Got a good seat around 630 and staff was welcoming overall. Our waitress took a long time to get to our table while we saw some tables around us getting served, I asked the general manager who seemed a bit annoyed but she shared our waitress was new and all tables get seated at the same time so it can cause some bottlenecks. All good, we waited until she got to us and enjoyed the show. Drinks and food were food, I'd say average bar snacks but don't plan for an actual dinner if you're hungry. The overall feel was chill and they are super serious about hecklers and people acting foolish which is great to see. Someone did actually get kicked out during the show which shows they're not playing games! Will definitely be back!

My husband and I recently moved to Winfield and was so excited to learn we had a comedy club so close to us! Even more excited to see one of our favorites, Dave Koechner, was going to be there! This place is just amazing! It's small and intimate - love all the colors and lighting. Great artwork all around! Every employee we encountered was so friendly, and the wait staff is just awesome!!! I wish I knew our waiters name, but he was just so nice, good vibes, and great service! Whoever was serving the left side next to the stage, shoutout to him! Honestly most food served at comedy clubs we've been to (improv in Schaumburg and zanies in Rosemont) is just ok. So we ate before the show, but my friend wanted mozzarella sticks. They were so good! They even mixed some Parmesan cheese in the marinara sauce! Yum! We will definitely try more food in the future now. I love that they have a mocktail list and craft sodas! Gives non drinkers some good options. Dave Koechner was HILARIOUS and AMAZING! My husband and I have been to a lot of comedy shows in our time, and Dave easily went into our top 3 favorite shows. He interacted with the crowd, and the joke about how his 4 out of 5 kids were conceived, is one of the best jokes we've ever heard in our life. His opener, Rob Maher, was equally as hilarious! Any comedian who makes jokes about eating ass immediately goes into our favorite list lol. They made such an awesome duo together. I just loved this venue and we can't wait to go back!!!

Comedy clubs in our area have vanished since covid. So when the Comedy Vault opened, we were thrilled to have a new outlet close to home. The other night we finally made our way in. The inside is a lot bigger that I thought it would be. We were the first people here and got the front and center table, which made for a great experience. It's worth noting that you'll be seated here, and may not get the table/seats that you want, so arrive early! We saw a pair of comics including a local guy that put on great performances. As we were sitting front and center, the headliner comic talked to us and our friends a bit, which made the experience all the more better. Drink-wise..they make just about everything here. Come in thirsty with an appetite for comedy. Cheers.

There's been bad reviews in the past but he truly does not care about how he treats the people that spend money at his establishment. I wish I could leave a better review, but our experience at CG's was absolutely unacceptable. The manager/ owner Glen Martino completely mishandled a situation with my family while one of my family members was getting sick in the bathroom. Instead of showing concern for a guest's wellbeing, he assumed they were dining and dashing, yelling curse words and slurs in the process at my female family members. This lack of professionalism not only disrupted the show completely and then throwing the rest of us out even though they had our cards for the bill during this whole process. To make matters worse, the manager physically assaulted my brother during the commotion which stopped the show in front of the rest of the guests. This was supposed to be a fun family night out, but it turned into a nightmare because of the manager's (Glen Martino's) hot-headed and rude behavior. It's shocking that someone like this is allowed to run a business. I highly recommend avoiding CG's Comedy Club. Save your money and spend it somewhere that values and respects its guests. Glen Martino should be ashamed of his behavior, and honestly, he should be fired if he could be. This was hands down the worst experience we've ever had at any venue. 0 stars if possible would not recommend.

We had to silence our phones and make sure to buy 2 drinks each. We were a little late for the opener was performing. They sat us at the middle front table. I liked the way you light up the menu to get a waitress to come. We each had a tropical cocktail then a seltzer. Comedy was great. We were at the later show. At the end, we were talking to one of the comedians and the workers kept pushing us out which was a little rude. That's the reason for minus 1 star. Other than that we had a great experience.

They put 50 kids in a gym with counselors that are not of legal age themselves (14 year old children). No structure! Chaos! Selling junk food to kids. My daughter was there the first day and it will be her last time at Improv Playhouse. Our 12 year old daughter wanted to take an acting summer camp. We called Improv Playhouse, a lady explained that our daughter should register for a version of the camp called showstopper, which is intended for 4th-9th grade instead of broadway bound which is intended for 1st-3rd grade. The lady suggested that we read more about their programs. We went on the website and found the Improve Playhouse channel on YouTube. We watched the video Improv Moana Camp (Link provided), which featured a group of about fifteen 4th-9th grade children taking acting classes and putting on a Moana Production. We read the mission statement. My daughter liked it, and said that is what she wanted. The camp was $755 for 10 days (two weeks), ran at the middle school. We thought we did our homework. We were expecting 4th-9th graders, groups of about 15-20 children, and acting activities. On the first day of camp, as we are walking in, all kids walking in are kindergarten through third grade. My daughter got nervous and said all kids are little. I told her that they probably have multiple camps running. Greeting the children were very young counselors. Most counselors were 14 year olds from the same middle school. They brought all the kids into a gym where they remained the entire day (9:00 am - 3:00 pm). There were about 50 children. They did not separate the children by age, there were no acting classes/activities, kids were not even taken to the cafeteria to eat lunch, but had to eat lunch on a dusty gym floor. There were no chairs, kids had to sit on the floor the entire day. They were selling junk food and candy to children at lunch. When my wife picked up my daughter, she was very disappointed and said It was very chaotic, unstructured, and a waste of time. She said it felt like the park district camp and is not what she was expecting and what we saw on the improv playhouse channel. Right away my wife asked if we can cancel the rest of the camp and asked to talk to someone in charge. Counselors went to get someone. When my wife explained that the camp was not what my daughter expected and we would like to cancel it, Mr. James said we can but we need to email the office. My wife emailed the office right away (administrative manager, Rachel Kwiecinski), but Mrs. Kwiecinski replied that there will not be refunds given. My wife called her and explained what was going on and asked her to refund the money, but to be prorated. Mrs. Kwiecinski said she will have to talk to the bookkeeping and will try to get a prorated refund. A couple of minutes later, the Creative Director of Youth Programming, Miss O'Leary called and said that there are no refunds. My wife asked her again very nicely to double check, and that it was not what was advertised and it was not for the age group that I paid for. Later that evening, the owner David Stewar emailed my wife saying they are an accredited organization and refunds will not be given, he also accused my wife of being disrespectful. My wife was very respectful to everyone she talked to, did not raise her voice or said anything disrespectful. My wife did not even ask for the full refund, which we should totally get because it was not what was advertised. In addition, he said that the video was from a local community house even though it was on their channel and suggested by their staff. According to his email "That video was from a small Highland Park workshop held years ago at a local community house, an entirely different format, group size, and production model. Our current camp format is a full-scale 10-day performance experience." Honestly, I am not totally sure what the difference is.
