I came here on a Friday night, tickets were available and glad I snagged one while I could even last minute. The headliners that performed here before the main show were pretty funny, but I didn't get a chance to write them down since you can't use your phone during the show. Michael Ian Black was somewhat funny, he had some lame over drawn jokes like the subway story, but overall, it was a great experience. I had some wine, so unsure if food is served here, but they were nicely chilled and satisfying. Will come back when in the area.

Getting ready for Nikki Glazier!

This venue is so much fun and I'm so glad to see them thriving in the face of the pandemic. My four friends and I went out for a girls night to see Nikki Glaser and were not disappointed! The venue was cute and intimate and Corona procedures were put well in place with masks being required, reduced capacity and social distancing. On this 12th anniversary show, we were wowed by both the ambiance of the venue and speed of the weight staff. I highly recommend this venue to fans of comedy and those looking for a fun and safe night!

The absolute best way to get a pick me up is to spend a night at this amazing club. Open mic night on Wednesday is a great way to spend a night with some friends, or go see a show on the weekend for a fun date! The food here is really great comfort food--most of (if not all) the choices are fried in some way or another, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The fried pickles are really great, the breading is nice and crisp (not soggy like some pickles) and has good texture, plus the pickles are juicy without being messy. The beer and drink list is pretty standard, nothing too special but you can find your favorite domestics and some imports as well as spirits and wine. There's also a boozy root beer float which sounds like it'd be worth a try! Come out and get some laughs and yummy fried food for your 2 item minimum at this small town gem!!

Sad to say that I had never been to The Comedy Attic before, but was stoked to see that Tiffany Haddish would be performing most of the weekend. I was blown away that they were bringing such a rising star to BTown, but once I was inside the venue and saw all the posters for the folks who've graced The Comedy Attic stage, this place is pretty much legendary. Tiffany Haddish was AMAZING and so was one of her opening acts. I forgot her name, but she was hilarious. The MC was ok and one of his jokes just sent me into a bad space. It was just so offensive to me, but it is what it is. Service was a bit slow. My cheese sticks were meh, but who comes to a comedy club expecting exceptional food, so I didn't really care. They have to make there money somehow. The Meet & Greet was well organized and appreciated! The wait staff took forever and a day to bring back our credit cards. A lot of us were super anxious to get in line for the meet and greet, but one of the staffers was stuck trying to get all of the cards out alone. She was so sweet and trying so hard. Initially, I had an issue with my ticket and the guy was uber helpful and responsive. I was really impressed. All in all, I had a GREAT experience. This place is now on my radar and I can't wait to go back.

Only been to a few stand ups. First one in Bloomington and I couldn't stop laughing. Wasn't even a big name or anything.

She and four friends (a group of five) walked in on a Thursday night and were told by the bartender she wouldn't serve them as a group of five because she was "the only one working." Oddly, she said she would have served them if they were a group of three and a group of two. They offered to come up one by one to order instead. They did just that--individually bought beers--but when one of her friends (a Black man) walked back outside within the rails of the establishment, the bartender followed him, grabbed the beer out of his hand, and poured it in the street. She claimed it was "past the rail," even though other groups in the exact same spot were drinking without issue. When they asked for clarification, she eventually handed another friend ~$7 cash to give back to him. The whole situation felt discriminatory, especially since the group was diverse (including Black, Arab, and LGBTQ+ friends), respectful, and well-dressed professionals. Meanwhile, other patrons were not treated this way. To make it worse, when one of them asked a simple question about whether the former owner still ran the place, another customer started yelling at her, saying "everyone knows [owner's name], that doesn't make you special" and the bartender did nothing. What should have been a normal, fun night out turned into an incredibly uncomfortable experience.

During my college years, a good portion of my Bloomington memories are from the Bluebird. Fantastic bands, good friends and a somewhat aggressive number of drinks were the common theme multiple nights a week. Now that I'm OLD(er) the visits are less frequent, but when the right bands are in town and my calendar isn't slammed with adulting, I still find the Bird to be my favorite place in town. The original Bluebird was about half the size it is today. Several years ago, they bought out the restaurant next door and added a large additional space, leading to a pretty big bar/nightclub with a 'bar area' that includes a nice full bar, booths and tables, and the 'live music' portion which has a big stage, plenty of room for big crowds, and a warehouse vibe that is second to none. When you arrive, you'll start to see pictures of the amazing acts that run thru the Bluebird when they're just on the cusp of being 'huge' - from REM to Miranda Lambert to Gryffin, just about every genre is represented and it's nice to say 'I saw them with a few hundred of my friends' after you give ticketmaster your kidney to pay for their giant stadium shows. Reasonable drink prices, good people behind the bar, and the best bands currently playing the area, you can't go wrong with a night at the Bluebird. I wish I was still young and able to do multiple shows every week, but for now I'll just appreciate having it in my backyard so I can attend with the mood hits . Best bar in Bloomington. Probably anywhere.

I tried the sour tart drink everyone talked about and it is a wonderful drink if you like sweet drinks (which I do). We got there right at 7:00pm when they open and there was no cover charge. Drinks were affordable. I think the only thing holding me back from giving a five star review is the size. They need more space and more games, it was ok the first hour but when it got busier it felt like everyone was on top of each other. The bartender was great in suggesting drink options. Bathrooms were clean. Atmosphere was fantastic! If you like old arcade games and just a fun and inviting place to hangout late at night this is the place for you! It makes me sad but I won't be returning until the games are properly serviced, I can get drinks anywhere else.
