Gan is amazing and very kind! She focused on my areas of needs. I got the Thai massage w/ Cupping and must I say that was one of the best Thai massages I've gotten. This isn't for the weak, but if you can handle it, it's so worth it. You'll feel so much better. I got destroyed but in a great way leaving feeling like jello. Looking forward to coming back soon! I have been seeing Garn at The Collection Massage for a while now and she has genuinely made such a difference in my life. I came in dealing with real pain and mobility issues and the improvement has been real. I can feel the progress every time I leave. What sets her apart is that she actually cares. You can tell she is genuinely invested in her clients getting better, not just getting through the session. So many massages I have had in the past felt fragmented and rushed, like the therapist had one eye on the clock the whole time. With Garn it is the complete opposite. She goes above and beyond every single time and the work she does feels intentional and connected from start to finish. She is also really flexible with scheduling which has made it so much easier for me to stay consistent and keep seeing results. I also like the little treats and beverages she has at the end. It's a nice touch and something to look forward to after a "hurts so good" Thai massage. She does listen to feedback though so don't be afraid to speak up about what feels like it is too much. If you are dealing with pain or mobility issues and want someone who truly cares about your progress, go see Garn. She is the real deal. read more

I was in town for a conference that day and before flying back home I wanted to treat myself to a massage. I took an uber to one and they had no openings. So I went my trusty yelp and looked up massage facilities. The Collection popped up. I called and requested a 90 min massage. It sounded like she was on her way out so I was very appreciative that she was able to get me in on such short notice. Boy was I up for something else. It's definitely not for the weak but I felt like a whole new person after. I usually like my massages with a lot of pressure and Gan was able to do that, even to the point where I asked for less pressure haha. She dug into all my tight muscles and could feel all the areas that needed work. Im a couple days post massage now and my body feels so good and less tense. If I'm ever in town again I am definitely stopping by for her to revamp my body. 5 stars all the way. read more

I had my very first Thai massage at The Collection Massage with Gan, and Wow wow wow, what an experience! It will definitely not be my last. Gan is absolutely amazing. She takes the time to check in about pressure and makes sure you're comfortable throughout the session. The reviews were right, you can tell she's the real deal: skilled and knowledgeable! Gan did warn me that I'd be sore afterward, and she wasn't kidding! But it's the good kind of sore, the kind that reminds you something truly worked. I walked in feeling tight and tense, and by the end, I felt incredible; completely loosened up and rejuvenated. If you've been thinking about trying a Thai massage, do yourself a favor and book with Gan. I can't recommend her enough, and I will absolutely be coming back! read more

Gan is hands down the best massage therapist i've ever gone to. She is so knowledgable about the body, is intentional about checking in on pressure, and paying attention to areas you ask. I like a lot of force and she's so strong and able to really apply pressure to pesky knots. I highly recommend her and am so glad I found her. I will be a regular. read more

Before saying how great the massage was, I also want to say that Gan was super nice, friendly, and welcoming. As a nonbinary person I've been anxious about taking my clothes off and getting a massage, but Gan made me feel perfectly comfortable. There is a reason Gan has such incredible reviews. The 90 minute massage I received today was incredible. Thai massage sometimes pushes me right to that "good hurt," a deep sort of stretching, massage, and pressure that leaves you feeling like you've really done something that feels great and is also deeply therapeutic for your muscles, tendons, and overall wellbeing. I will absolutely be back. read more

Gan is great! I have had multiple massages with her and they have all been amazing. I usually have sore muscles from exercising and work, she does a fantastic job releasing all that built up stress. I also brought my mom here and she is older and sensitive but my mom said she enjoyed her massage and Gan was gentle enough. Gan is kind and takes her time! Make sure you book an appointment first because she is appointment only! read more

I have been going to Gan for Thai massage for about five years now. With confidence I say that she is hands down one of the best massage therapists out there--not just in San Diego, but California. She works the knots out of my body and afterwards I feel like I'm walking on air! If you are in need of a strong and effective therapeutic massage, try Gan! (Also her prices are lower than some others because she works for herself). Her space is always fresh, cozy and comfortable. I love Gan!!! read more

First time massage with Gan and it was AMAZING! I prefer deep tissue (painful) and Thai massage. My body was very tight and knotted and she worked out all of it. Definitely will be back. read more

I first started going to Gan about a year ago. Since then I have gone probably 12 to 15 times. I first went because I had a knot under my scapula that had been bothering me for a couple of months at that point. I just could not find any way to get to it on my own. After two visits, it was totally resolved. Since then, I have had numerous complaints and knots in different parts of my body and she has dealt with each one. I had never been one to get massages frequently, but I now swear by Gan's work. I've also referred several friends and they have all also become regulars. Trust me, If you are on the fence, try one visit. Gan is an excellent masseuse. She does just the right amount of pressure for the right amount of time to release the tension, and she adapts to the client's needs. In addition to that, she is very friendly and a joy to converse with. Truly 5 stars! As someone who often has different mild aches and pains all over, I think I'll be going to Gan for many years. read more

I will definitely be back! read more

The best massage in town. She knows what she is doing. I had a really back back and neck pain and she did magic in only couple of sessions. I've been going to see Gan for past five weeks. I have been doing two hours a week for each session. It is amazing how much better I'm feeling after spending this time with Gan. Thai massage is known to be pretty aggressive, and many people think it's too aggressive, but Gan is amazing, she listens to you and knows when she needs to back off if it starts getting a little painful and she's continually stretching me as she is massaging me. I love what she's doing for me!!! I have referred a bunch of people to her that have gone to her and have a similar opinion. I would recommend anybody to give her a try! read more

Massage was amazing and Gan was on spot on knowing where to apply pressure and where to be more gentle, she also gave good advice to stretch more for my body have less tightness. read more

I am a retired Massage Therapist after 25 years- now a psychotherapist. Gan is one of the best masseuses I have ever experienced. She is amazing with her ability to connect to myofascial tension and recognize how deep she can go without creating more resistance from the muscles. I have had multiple sessions over a few months in addition to PT to work through previous musculoskeletal injuries that had been ignored for many years. She is amazing! She does not work too deep too quickly, yet can meet the tension where it resides, but gently working the muscles to allow release. Best work ever! read more

I have gotten Thai Massage all my life, Gan is Best Thai Massage therapist in San Diego. Gan does the traditional Thai massage stretching, and deep tissue. If you're tight and sore Gan will have you feeling brand new, relaxed, and young again! read more

THE BEST DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE IN SAN DIEGO!!! I heard about The Collection Massage & Spa from a friend who used to see Gran at a spa in Bird Rock and followed her when she opened her own practice in Hillcrest. I get a lot of massages. From the high end NY Bliss and Burke Williams Spa stuff to the low end Chinese foot massage joints, here and abroad. I work a lot on the computer, I have knots all over my upper back and simply I hate when I get a weak massage. So when I heard about Gran I sought her out. Gran - hands down gives THE BEST DEEP TISSUE MASSAGES IN SAN DIEGO! I feel like she's my little secret and I was conflicted when writing this review because I didn't want everyone to know. But, I feel like it would be selfish of me not to share. She gave me a one hour Thai and Swedish combo massage and zeroed in on every knot in my back. And I felt so amazing after 100% revitalized! The tension and stiffness in the my back was relieved and could move again with ease! read more

See all

This was my first time getting a massage with Gan and it was amazing. She got out my knots in my back and even though I normally can't handle Swedish style massages because I'm a light-weight, Gan went very slow then artfully worked my trouble areas. I will be returning next week. read more

Gan is incredible. If you are looking for a real Thai massage, look no further. Gan has relieved a lot of tension that I didn't even know I had. I am now a repeat customer. She is very nice, quick to respond to texts and easy to schedule with. I highly recommend Gan! read more

I had a fantastic massage here! I've had Thai and Swedish massages before and my back is sooo much work, (tight and knots) I don't always leave feeling like all of the knots are gone, but she really worked out every last one! Gan is a masseuse extroidanair!! Of you are tight and need a good rubdown.. she is your lady!!

I had the pleasure of getting a massage with Gan. She is very sweet and is sure to focus on your troubled areas. I went for a 60 minute massage and left feeling sore but relieved. Since this is my first massage in a few years, so my body is very tight and the soreness is expected. She does a Thai and Swedish combo massage, resulting in a good balance between stretching and relaxing. I'll be returning soon :) read more

First Thai massage ever today & it was mind boggling!! It was intense, intriguing, crazy, but really cool! The massage had some Swedish strokes and a lot of stretching with pressure manipulation of bunched up spots on the muscles. The techniques and positions were a completely new take on massage for me- a breath of fresh air. It really was invigorating and relaxing at the same time because the intensity forces you to breathe and focus on staying open, relaxed and present- that's the meditative part I keep hearing about haha! I'd been hearing how great Gan was from the girls at the salon, so I thought I'd give her a try. Glad I did! Yes, I'll be booking again- Gan really knows what she's doing. I can see this being great for those of us who make time for the workouts and weights but not the stretching and rolling we know we need! read more

Gan is no joke. She's incredibly strong and has a wicked sense of humor, so she'll force troublesome (like, years-in-the-making) knots out of your muscles, but you'll sort of smile through the pain. 10/10 this woman is magic. read more
