Okay, so, I haven't done Yelp reviews in a while, but I absolutely adored this cute little spot hidden in Santee and felt I needed to say something. First off, the service was great. The barista in front was more than willing to answer all my questions, and she made her own suggestions based on what I told her I liked. She was very friendly and courteous, and I definitely appreciated her patience with me since I know I can be a difficult customer when it comes to coffee. Side note: I partially blame the fact I used to be a barista so I'm pretty particular about my drinks. Anyway, the atmosphere of the place was nice. It was very spacious and open, and most importantly, there were a lot of plugs! I went there to study, and from the looks of it, so did a lot of other students. There were pairs there who sat and chatted, which is great, but it does seem like students like hitting this place up to avoid the stress bubbles that are university libraries. As a student myself, I personally prefer coffee shops over libraries any day anyway, and I was super grateful that the coffee shop wasn't clustered or jammed packed together to fit everyone. Whoever came up with the design was super considerate of personal space, and that is a big plus in my book. Not to mention, Allen Stone was the music playing! This was one of the first coffee shops I didn't even bother putting my headphones in because I already loved the music playing. Okay, and finally, the coffee. Wow. I enjoyed it. I was being conservative with getting whole milk because the drink was new to me, but I want to go back and try the drink with almond milk. One thing that did make me sad was the coffee shop did not carry oat milk, which is one of my usual go-to's, but the standard options were available! I liked that the drink wasn't exceedingly sweet. I can't do super sweet drinks and am usually the type of person who gets everything halved if I order a special drink. I do feel like the coconut combined with lavender was a solid decision on whoever created the drink in the first place, and I really enjoyed the floral hints. As for the bowl, the peanut butter added an extra (necessary) texture, and the fact that there were blackberries on top was wild to me! I also liked that the option of agave was available instead of just the standard honey. There are multiple sizes available for the bowl size, but the small was sufficient for my hunger at the time. I would go back. I probably will go back. I had a pleasant experience and do not doubt I will have more the more I go. read more

There are better coffee shops around. I don't really understand the way they explain their signature drinks on the menu. I got the lavender coconut.. k, does it have caffeine in it? Is the milk coconut or is it just flavoring? Stoner server looked confused & annoyed at my question. I Asked if it can be less sweet and it tastes like straight up milk. Didn't even ask me if I wanted a milk substitute so I'm pretty sure I was drinking whole milk. I think their drinks cater to sugary instead. I threw my drink away after a couple sips. The only good thing about this place is that there is plenty of seating with decent furniture. I'm going to stick to the simple coffee house - better service, better drinks. Their Acai Bowl is great! I had it today since it was perfect for a hot day. I enjoyed the creamy consistency (I detest the sorbet textures that other acai bowls have) and the toppings were great. It was $8 for a medium-sized bowl which is pretty expensive. That is the only downside. read more

I like how different the furniture is arranged and the lovely decor. There's not very much seating but it's cozy and just the perfect lighting for a place to study. They have a bunch of signature drinks to choose from. You can either get it iced or blended, which doesn't cost extra. Recommend: BLENDED FUNKY MONKEY It contains a heavy drizzle of mocha around the cup (my favorite part), coconut, and banana. I was afraid the banana flavor would be too strong but every ingredient in this drink is just right!! Another plus: they were playing fix my eyes by for KING & COUNTRY. I used to take my dry cleaning to a place that opened late, closed early and, because they sent the cleaning to a plant halfway across the County, couldn't offer same day or next day service. I liked the staff, but I wasn't in need of pleasant company. I wanted my suits pressed and my shirts laundered quickly, and since the nice people worked a different schedule than mine, I found a different dry cleaner. I have a similar problem with Coffee Corner. By the time Coffee Corner opens, I'm already two or three cups into my day, so they've missed my window. The coffee itself is just ok. The best espresso drink they've served me required a three-person consultation to decide how to make it. Some of Coffee Corner's workers are nice, but I know more reliably nice people who sell better coffee earlier in the day. Also, Coffee Corner (like Carlton Oaks' Kaffee Meister) seems to be an occasional meeting place for Bible study and other religious purposes. I mention the fact believing that, while Coffee Corner would never intentionally make a non-religious patron feel unwelcome, some people might find walking into such an environment awkward. I came to study and ordered a mexican mocha it was really bad usually I can suck it up and finish a bad drink but it was just undrinkable. I took one sip and immediately went back to the register to ask for a replacement but unfortunately they said all they could do was 50% off a replacement drink. The staff was nice about it and I know they are probably just following some policy set by higher ups so I don't blame them but it just seemed unreasonable. Considering I've been to many coffee shops it's never been a problem to replace something when it's bad especially when you barely drink it. I kindly just asked staff to throw away my drink as I was not about to spend more money on a replacement drink that I might not even like. The ambiance wasn't bad however the seating was wasn't comfortable either i couldn't be there for more than 30min before it started hurting to sit on their couches so personally I wouldn't recommend if you are looking for local cozy coffee shop with great coffee. read more

This is my go to coffee shop when I'm in San Diego.... I have been coming here for years ... last week was probably the worst service I've gotten ... idk if they have changed staff or what it is. They took my order which isn't cheap my coffee usually ends up being $7 which I don't mind paying for at all I asked for coffee ice cubes which the lady made my latte then tells the girl that's working with her please add the coffee cubes to this latte if you want me to do something in the back ..... well my drink sat there with no one looking at it for 4 mins ..... then the lady without reading the cups dumps a bunch of regular ice cubes in there .... Not to mention the coffee cubes are .50 extra .... She calls out my drink and I let her know she put the wrong ice cubes .... I kid you not she took my cup and started to take the ice cubes out with a spoon instead of making me a new drink .... Hello the whole point of the coffee cubes is not to dilute the freaking drink ! HUGE fan of The Coffee Corner! My wife and I were craving some coffee and acai bowls during our recent vacation and this placed satisfied our every need. We didn't have a ton of time to spend there, but it'd definitely be a place that I would go if I needed to study or meet up with a friend. They had a decent amount of comfortable seating and everything was priced very reasonably. Their customer service was outstanding.
