I have owned these boots for 18 years. The soles finally went. Dropped em off and can't believe how good they look. Thanks for the work.

I took my vintage Louis Vuitton bag here to get the strap fixed. I was given a week for pick up, came back and he didn't start it due to a busy-ness so he told me to come back in a few days. When it was time for pick up, I was very impressed. He did an amazing job repairing the strap on my purse, see photos. He matched the original straps and it almost looks identical. I wished I had a before picture of the broken strap. I would've gave 5 stars, however; the ETA was delayed. Hopefully it won't happen again. Overall: Customer Service - Good Quality- Good Price - Great, Very reasonable Would I go back - Yes

Occasionally get my work boots resoled and found this place as I was driving by, they did a great job and gave me advice on keeping my boots looking good. Pricing was fair and boots were ready at the time they had told me. Had a great experience, chatting with the owner and his wife, I learned that they've been working on that same corner for 31+ years and immigrated to the US from South America. Overall would definitely recommend to anyone who needs the leather work or boots.

for those minor things like putting that plastic piece on your heel back on or shining, this place will do. For major work, don't bother.

Ocean Avenue has really evolved with the influx of Asian, mostly Chinese, families, that reside in the Ingleside. The condo project with the Whole Foods Market and Philz Coffee probably sparked the change to a degree. Back to this business, I searched on Yelp for a place close to home to repair my most practical and favorite piece of luggage (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=cW_maSKmgOcT-qSrOWgU3g&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). When I last used this about a year ago, I tried to roll my bag from the SFO baggage claim carousel to get my car when I noticed a rattling noise as I walked. I didn't think much of it till I got home when I saw the problem. The wheel were cracked into pieces, likely from my hard handling when it was packed to capacity. As a result, I sought someone to help with this. Johnny had to find the right parts which took a while. Finally, I was glad that he replaced wheels (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=OsyfsFP4hkC5p1a1lfjeyA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) in time for my next trip. Johnny is very nice and personable but, if you are in a rush or a bit OCD about broken possessions like me, you do need to stay on top in getting updates on the work. Do call and leave messages if he doesn't answer or you stop by when the store is closed.

Pricing felt a bit on the higher side for what it was, though. Turnaround time was okay, not super fast but not painfully slow either. Customer service was kind of neutral--no attitude, but not exactly welcoming either. Overall, it's a solid "if you need it, it works" type of place. Not bad, not great, just average.

It took me 5months to pick it up because I coming from San Jose couldn't make the time to go but I was finally able to and Mr. Odsy himself told me that you can ship the shoes to him and vice versa for $10 about to San Jose, all you need to do is call to arrange! That's so sick and modern. I'm definitely gonna be back for more worn pairs.

The worst of them 'lost' my shoes and were unapologetic about it. So after I bought some really expensive leather shoes at Community Thrift (love them!) for a couple of bucks that needed stretching, new soles and some love I decided to try out the place with the 5 star Yelp review ...Odsy. I called them and described what I wanted. After talking it was clear the work was not gonna be cheap, but considering I bought the shoes for a song seemed like a decent bet. Well wow they delivered!! Odsy gave them all of the love for what, in the end, I would say was a very fair price considering the quality of the work. Turn around was about a week which I thought was pretty fast. If you have some nice shoes that need some help I absolutely recommend this place. Oh yeah..and they are super lovely people. :)

I needed to get my boots' soles replaced and was thinking about completely swapping the soles too. Mak provided me a reasonable quote for the rebuild and was also very knowledgeable in the shoe care tips he shared with me. He said he would complete an entire rebuild of both leather boots' soles within the day, and I was able to come before closing time to pick them up. I accepted and left my boots and contact information. Separately from my experience with the shoe repair, a couple came in after me to do a watch repair as I was leaving. Within seconds, Mak was able to identify the problem and said it'd take 10 minutes to fix. Talk about someone who knows their craft very well! He sent a text less than 2.5 hours later letting me know they was ready for pickup. I came before the store closed to pick them up. The boots' soles were revitalized, I put them on and walked around the store with them. I was very happy. Mak is awesome, gets your shoe repair done quickly with reasonable prices, and I will absolutely going to Mak for any shoe repairs I may have in the future!

I thought this time, if I give a month deadline it would be fine. Month goes by and no texts, no updates. They don't pick up calls so there is no way to check besides going there in person. When I finally lugged myself there, they couldn't fine my shoe! They looked for ~15 minutes and when they finally located it, obviously no repairs have been made. At that point I was just thankful that my shoes weren't lost forever and left. Or maybe it is, but I'll never know, because nearly two months after drop off, and one month past the due date, they still hadn't started to replace the heels on my boots. When I showed up in October, eager to support a local business, a customer was reading them the riot act because they had lost his shoes. Should have taken that as a bad sign. But I liked how charming the shop looked, with various western belts and saddles adorning the rustic, adobe stuccoed walls, and shoes and boots piled high on every surface. "Surely they have a system," I thought. Maybe they do, but it didn't work in my case. Since they don't answer the phone, I wasn't able to easily inquire about the status of my repair, or maybe claw my way to the front of the queue. Today I finally made my way there in person, expecting the work to be done and...nope. Nada. I have no idea how things are organized here, and it took him a while to even locate my shoes. He said he hadn't gotten to them yet and could have them done tomorrow, but I just didn't believe that would happen, or that the rushed work would be up to par. I took my boots and left. So again, maybe he's great, and the homespun environment is worth the hassle, but I wouldn't go there if you actually need your shoes fixed in a reasonable amount of time. Pros: * Quirky local place, which I assume is owner/operated * They have a 15-minute green curb drop off zone out front...very convenient, but ultimately a waste * Located on a beautiful block in the Castro, closest shoe repair to the Mission Cons: * They over-promise and under-deliver. If you're too busy, just decline the work...I can respect that, and adjust my expectations accordingly * Lousy/zero communication * For some reason, they have a bench blocking customers from entering the store that was set up for COVID, but I guess they prefer that vibe. I personally avoid businesses that do this sort of thing in 2025.
