This was the worst experience I've ever had with a shoe company. He was very short and rude from the beginning. When I went to pick up my boots he just had them in a pile and it dropped them on counter. I didn't inspect them well when I was there because I just wanted to get out but when I got home I realized that when he was cleaning my boots he damaged them. Very disappointing experience. I brought in a coat and a bag for repair, and the results were unacceptable. The coat was not stitched properly along the seams -- the work was cheap, sloppy, and looked completely unprofessional. As for my bag, I was told it couldn't be fixed, yet I was still charged the full price! I left feeling frustrated and taken advantage of. Genuinely the most insane experience I've ever had at a small business. I always opt for supporting small businesses when I can but this was the most unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of purchasing a service from. I brought in (very) old shoes with broken straps in hopes they could be fixed. A no would have been fine but instead I was returned with subpar work that resulted in me needing to take yet another trip out of the way to the store after 1 wear. This is fine mistakes happen and I know they're very old. I am charged again which I also don't mind because it is more labor. Upon pickup the 2nd time there was a large spot of glue dripping down the side of a canvas part of the shoe. I asked if he could fix that because it ruined the outside look of the shoe. He took it back begrudgingly and I'm assuming sanded down and completely tore up the material of the shoe. Upon my dislike for the work he had done (not once did I yell, raise my voice, or Karen even a little bit) because he had now ruined the material on the shoe he started screaming "Bye! Bye! Get out!" In my face. I wouldn't leave because ??? He just ruined my shoe?? He then asked how much I paid for them. I told him and he took my shoes out of my hands, threw them in the trash, took the amount I said out of his cash register and slapped it on the counter while yelling at me to get out. All because HE messed up by doing a sloppy job in cementing my shoes and allowed it to drip all along the side. All of this happened in a matter of less than 5 minutes. NEVER do business with this man he is unstable and unprofessional to say the least. He returned my shoes after asking multiple times and I left as fast as I could as I felt extremely unsafe as a young woman. All of this happened in front of other customers as well. Absolutely shameful! In December, my daughter started Police Academy and spent $400 on 2pairs of leather boots. We took them to this Cobbler who told us he could bring them up to a shine for $80. When we got them back we noticed they looked like they had some sort of coating on them that was chipping and for which we couldn't polish. We then drove to a well respected shoe shiner in Roseville who told us the Folsom Cobbler had sprayed them with some substance that's fake shine and for which chips and can ruin the leather. The Folsom Cobbler came close to ruining $400 worth of boots, as it took the Roseville person quite awhile to strip the substance off that Folsom applied. The leather took forever to condition and get to a true shine by normal means of hand polishing. The Folsom Cobbler was deceiving as he said he would "shine the boots", never telling us he was going to simply spray a substance on them versus doing it the right way! We will never return to this Cobbler who we had seen several times before for basic repairs. We are also telling everyone we know not to ever trust this business to polish shoes the correct way. We could talk about his general unfriendly demeanor with most patrons, but we won't go there. read more

I have a pair of motorcycle rain boots that had its heel destroyed. The other Cobbler down the street said it was impossible to repair. Coming from Los Angeles where I had an amazing cobbler, it was odd to have one say something was impossible because cobblers are magicians to me. So I tried this shop instead. Leon is very straight forward and blunt, but that said, that's what you need in someone fixing your beloved shoes... Since early 2000s, every time I've gone into this shop with a question or issue for possible repair, this guy acts like he's being bothered. I once simply asked if he could shorten two of my gun leather belts and showed him the belt. He didn't say anything, just took my belt in hand, asked me how short, and when I pointed out the marks I made, he simply took out a leather cutting blade and cut it straight across and handed the belt back to me. Almost to say, ok, what else do you want to bother me with? I thought he was going to "cut and finish" it with necessary finishing stitching. Like I said, all the times I went in to ask about something, he acts like he doesn't want to be bothered, like he wants to just get rid of you. I'm surprised he's still in business. I respect and try to patronize local businesses but he obviously is very selective on who he will give service with a smile. Me? NO SMILE, NO NOTHING. read more

Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. This was my second time I have tried to do business with them. The first time they could not repair the heel, that's fine, but the second time was a different story. This time the shop attendant was curt, and made me feel like I was bothering him. I walked back to my car feeling very defeated, and then I asked myself, "why am I patronizing this rude human being?" I walked back in, said I changed my mind and took the shoes back. Not far away is another business with a very similar name, and I believe the rude businessperson is in business because people think they are patronizing the kind one who actually knows how to treat people. Took my new shoes here to get a good initial shine. The shoes were cleaned well, and edge dressed..... but not really shined Had to take my shoes to the Denver Airport and the guys in the B concourse made them look like glass. Maybe get shoes repaired here but don't ask for them to really be shined. read more

I'm not giving this place a 1 star because Of the job that was done on my shoe. I'm giving it a 1 star because the owners attitude, customer service and unethical business conduct. I was getting ready to go out of town for a business trip and discovered that one of my dress shoe, the bottom of it had gotten unglued over time on just the right shoe ( the heel was peeling off) the left she was perfect. I had stopped in here the day before and ask for a quote, he said it should be around $18-$20, I said, ok I'll bring it in tomorrow morning. I brought the one shoe in the next morning and immediately he said this will cost $40. I mentioned the quote yesterday and he said it's a very tough job to glue this back. And he would have to do both shoe. I showed him the other shoe and said, I only need to do the one because the other one is perfect. He grab the other shoe and as hard as he could, he peel the sole off of that one!! Ruining it on purpose so that I had no choice but to go with him and have him fix both. I was furious but because I was leaving out of the country that evening, I had to do it. I or anyone of my friends will never come back to this place again. read more

I took my Hermes belt to get fixed here because when I called he said he could do it. I left it for a week and when I got it back the stitching was not stiched back properly and some parts were kind of ripped so when I go to wear it with my dress pants it's rough putting it on. Thank you to The Cobblers! The owner operator who worked with my husband to find a solution for his difficult to fit permanently injured ankle. We spent $900 on custom work boots that he still couldn't fit over the injured foot. A full length zipper was installed and now the boots go on without any trouble. Recently went there and rang the bell for service upon entering. The gentleman saw me and I lingered by the products for feet wall then sat down by the door. I was the only customer there. Another 5 minutes went by. Finally he acknowledged my presence and I explained that Dr. Hook in Folsom recommended this shop. I explained further what I needed done with the orthotics and he abruptly interrupted me to say he didn't so such work.
