This was the worst experience I've ever had with a shoe company. [[HIGHLIGHT]]He was very short and rude from the beginning.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When I went to pick up my boots he just had them in a pile and it dropped them on counter. I didn't inspect them well when I was there because I just wanted to get out but when I got home I realized that when he was cleaning my boots he damaged them. Then after damaging them he never polished them at all. Horrible business!

    Drip from the glue

Genuinely the most insane experience I've ever had at a small business. I always opt for supporting small businesses when I can but this was the most unprofessional person I've ever had the displeasure of purchasing a service from. I brought in (very) old shoes with broken straps in hopes they could be fixed. A no would have been fine but instead I was returned with subpar work that resulted in me needing to take yet another trip out of the way to the store after 1 wear. This is fine mistakes happen and I know they're very old. I am charged again which I also don't mind because it is more labor. Upon pickup the 2nd time there was a large spot of glue dripping down the side of a canvas part of the shoe. I asked if he could fix that because it ruined the outside look of the shoe. He took it back begrudgingly and I'm assuming sanded down and completely tore up the material of the shoe. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon my dislike for the work he had done (not once did I yell, raise my voice, or Karen even a little bit) because he had now ruined the material on the shoe he started screaming "Bye! Bye! Get out!" In my face.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I wouldn't leave because ??? He just ruined my shoe?? [[HIGHLIGHT]]He then asked how much I paid for them. I told him and he took my shoes out of my hands, threw them in the trash, took the amount I said out of his cash register and slapped it on the counter while yelling at me to get out.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All because HE messed up by doing a sloppy job in cementing my shoes and allowed it to drip all along the side. All of this happened in a matter of less than 5 minutes. NEVER do business with this man he is unstable and unprofessional to say the least. He returned my shoes after asking multiple times and I left as fast as I could as I felt extremely unsafe as a young woman. [[HIGHLIGHT]]All of this happened in front of other customers as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Insane.

Quick repair. I had the caps replaced on the heels of my good boots. They looked better than before. Cost was $22.

He did a nice job on my purse strap. The price seemed very reasonable to me. It is nice to have my little yellow purse back.

I had a pair of gold braided gladiator sandals that needed a repair. Once summer hit, I remembered I had them. I was excited to wear them, but alas, I had forgotten about the repair needed.- I called Roseville shoe repair and I don't remember exactly what they said, but they were very kind and something. They said it made me laugh out loud. I knew in that moment I was in good hands. On my way to work I stopped in to drop off the sandals. They are in a little sort of strip mall just next to Douglas and I 80. He said Yep, I got you, pick them up Friday! Friday came shoes were ready $20 and I was out the door! I just feel like the world has gotten so obsessed with instant gratification and everything online that place like this restore my faith in humanity. It feels just like a little family of business stuck in time. I hope all my shoes stay in good shape, but I know when they need a little work, I know exactly where to go!

3/2/2026: DOH~I forgot RSR is closed MONDAYS--I wanted picking up two repaired tote bags!…read more 3/6/2026: I picked up my two repaired tote bags, i.e., both will last for no less than FIFTY YEARS OR MORE! Aside, after retrieving my two tote bags, I immediately began using the black tote bag for carrying purchased shopping items while the Gianni Versace shopping tote carried my personal items. Preface: Slavik, the owner of RSR, i.e., Roseville Shoe Repair replaced the main zipper for the Gianni Versace tote bag, re-sewed/reinforced the exterior seams, reinforced the interior silk compartment's lining seams, and replaced the interior tote's compartment zipper. In addition, Slavik replaced the black tote's warped, old zipper--replaced tote with a new zipper and sewed via attaching two new black leather tote handles due to the original handles were literally disintegrating. FYI and BTW: What are the reasons the inability throwing or recycling either tote bag away? Why waste money, energy, and time repairing two "worthless" tote bags, eh, Shirley? WELP . . . Because the Lancôme black tote bag was the tote bag my Mom gave me along with the largest Lancôme skin care and make-up collection in production for my birthday present seven years before she passed away, i.e., the black tote bag possesses tremendously endearing, sentimental value. Moreover, the Gianni Versace tote bag was a sample tote created from the Gianni Versace's Future Shopping Tote Bag Collection before Gianni passed away. Anyway, the tote's marketing premise was to be sold as an upscale, shopping tote but, the tote abruptly stopped its preproduction creative and manufacturing processes which was unfortunately never manufactured nor distributed due to Gianni's demise~so sad . . . Anyway, I received the Gianni Versace shopping tote bag as a birthday present from Samonnim, a Seoul, South Korean Designer Bag Owner I know who worked with Gianni Versace. Backstory: Samonnim was designing the shopping tote bag on behalf of Gianni Versace's Future Designer Of The Shopping Tote Bag Collection. Therefore, the Gianni Versace shopping tote bag also possesses an extremely high, sentimental, historical value as well as an awesome birthday gift from Samonnim's heart. Finally, Slavik: Thank you so very much for repairing the main compartment zipper for my Sven Leather Backpack Purse, the Lancôme black tote bag my deceased Mother gave me, and also, the Gianni Versace's Shopping Tote Bag which will never be designed nor replicated!!!! All bags you repaired for me are PRICELESS! Besides, I highly recommended all VA Mather/McClellan Hospital Primary Care Physicians and VA Employees have their orthopedic shoes, purses, etc., repaired at RSR, i.e., Roseville Shoe Repair.

Clearly, this was a result of horrendous workmanship because I take care of my boots like a responsible adult. When I tried to return them or at least get some sort of resolution, I was greeted by *Nicolas*, the manager, who was so rude and condescending, I thought I was in a bad sitcom. Instead of offering a solution, he wanted to argue with me like it was my fault these boots fell apart. Let's talk about how disappointed I am. My family has spent easily $1,200 at this store in the last three months, and *this* is the customer service we get? I guess that means nothing to Red Wing, because clearly, Nicolas was too busy with his attitude to help me. If this is the standard of service they pride themselves on, then maybe it's time for a company-wide reality check. I'm done. No more money from me, no more visits. I'll take my business elsewhere where they actually *care* about quality and customers. Red Wing, do yourself a favor and retrain this manager because his attitude alone is enough to make me never want to step foot in your store again. These boots weren't cheap, and neither is the frustration I'm feeling. Terrible, just terrible.
