The manager was juggling helping a pretty full store like a pro, was upbeat and friendly, and astonishingly knowledgeable about leather shoes and boots and the Red Wing brand. Today I bought my first pair of Red Wings, the Iron Ranger in black. I usually wear an 11.5 generally speaking and have B- or C-width feet. I was certain I was an 11 since they are known to run long. IT felt huge but not too bad and I was almost going to get them when the manager said to try the 10.5 pair. He said I'd be surprised; they are much smaller in volume but barely shorter. Lo and behold I put them on and they fit and looked a million times better. I have them on breaking them in as I write this. I forgot to get the guy's name but I made sure to shake his hand. I recently purchased a pair of Irish Setter boots from Red Wing, and after just 15 days of use, I noticed a huge hole exposing the safety toe. Clearly, this was a result of horrendous workmanship because I take care of my boots like a responsible adult. When I tried to return them or at least get some sort of resolution, I was greeted by *Nicolas*, the manager, who was so rude and condescending, I thought I was in a bad sitcom. Instead of offering a solution, he wanted to argue with me like it was my fault these boots fell apart. Let's talk about how disappointed I am. My family has spent easily $1,200 at this store in the last three months, and *this* is the customer service we get? I guess that means nothing to Red Wing, because clearly, Nicolas was too busy with his attitude to help me. If this is the standard of service they pride themselves on, then maybe it's time for a company-wide reality check. I'm done. No more money from me, no more visits. I'll take my business elsewhere where they actually *care* about quality and customers. Red Wing, do yourself a favor and retrain this manager because his attitude alone is enough to make me never want to step foot in your store again. These boots weren't cheap, and neither is the frustration I'm feeling. Terrible, just terrible. read more

'Manager' Nicholas has no customer service skills. I was sent by another location to pick up boots for my husband. The other store checked the inventory and said they had 6 pair. Nicholas began by lecturing me that the other store SHOULD have called him first, that I would be lucky if they had one. They don't keep all of the stock on location. They have a storage unit somewhere. Like I was stupid and I should know this. Without checking what I needed or if they had them he was very condescending and basically said they didn't have them. I asked him to stop multiple times. If it was an issue, then should be having that conversation with the other store. Not a 20 year paying customer. Unprofessional. Unkind. Horrible customer service. Another guy helped me and apologized for his behavior but it was uncalled for. When I asked for his name, he laughed and said I 'could figure it out'. Looks like I did. Great service! Love the shoes! Ours were in back order for a while and they kept us updated and promptly called when they came in.

They ended up replacing my boots because they did not sale me extra wide with box toe boot. They back dated my warranty on the boots they replaced. Bottom line their boots are not worth what you pay for them. They only come with a year warranty on them. When you spend $300.00 on a pair of boots the warranty should be longer. Will never buy red wings again better boots out their for have the prize. Overpriced on everything in there store. read more

The service provided by Katelyn was excellent. The knowledge she had was phenomenal....she's actually an expert and I believe it. So, customer service was excellent. The quality of the shoes are also excellent. If you are looking for hunting boots or work boots, this should be your go to place. Yes, you will pay a nice shiny penny for quality boots. I brought a pair of work boots to red wing which were in impeccable condition and they just needed to be re-soled. When I arrived to pick up the boots I noticed that there was a large chip in the leather where the leather was hanging off. Also scrapes that weren't there when I dropped them off. The killer polish job that had taken a long time to achieve was gone. The boots looked terrible...with a new sole. Total waste of $85...if I knew that they were gonna thrash them I would have rather bought a new pair. Their stance was that they cannot guarantee what was there or was not there since the boots are worn. That is understandable...but the fact that they thrashed my like-new boots is not. I have no idea what they did while they were re-soling them. I will never go back to that store. read more

This review is for tge blue collar guys out there that seem to plow through their shoes. For years I was going through two pair of work boot a year because I would only spend $60 on them. About six years ago there was a deal at work that red eing was offering. I went and reluctantly bought a psir of steel toe wirk boots for at the time I thought was a massive amount of money, about $180. Well that pair of boot are just now starting to were out. I saved a tone of money over the last six years on shoes. Although im sure they're a lot more now and im dreading spending the money. What can I say, some lessons are hard to learn. :) read more

My husband and I arrived with the intention of buying one pair of work boots, and we left with two pair of boots and four pair of insoles- 2 for me. Not impressed. Don't waste your Money. I paid $200 for a pair of boots and only got 6 months out of them. The stiching started to come loose on the back of the boots and the soles were completely shot. I do HVAC for a living and I'm pretty hard on boots but this is ridiculous considering they're supposed to be the best. I've purchased just about every brand of work boot and the quality and durability of Red Wings is sub par at best, especially for $200. I even went back and paid $80 to get my boot resoled. Guess what? The sole started the peel of the boot 7 days later ! What a joke! I went back to get a refund on the resoling and I was told there is no refunds after they've been worn. It was their mistake and they wanted me to drive the boots to their shop in Roseville. I needed them back asap, but I wasn't going to waste my gas or time and sit there while they fixed them again. Why should I have to deal with that headache when it was their mistake in the first place? Not even a "Sorry about that sir" or "How about a discount on your next purchase or a free arch support?" Nothing, just terrible customer service. I was clearly unhappy and the Manager didn't even try. I was bothering him because I was unhappy with their crappy work. Go figure.
