    Whitefish sandwich with truffle fries
    Kim R.

I almost didn't go because of all of the reviews. So good I did! The food was incredible. I had the whitefish sandwich with truffle fries and a pizza to take hiking with me the next day. The bartender was so nice and personable. (I think her name was Lindsay) The location is amazing. I'm not sure where the bad reviews come from but it was not my experience here.

Table near the stairs, waitresses talked to tables through the railing??

Came here for dinner around 7! Nice place on the water. We were at outside (beautiful view) but we were sat against the railing which disrupted the atmosphere for us. Unfortunately eveything that we ordered had terrible timing. We waited a while to be greeted and put everything (food and drinks wise) in at once. My friend waited over 30 mins for a greek wrap because of a "kitchen mix up" which as a server I totally understand, but I was finished with my meal by the time she got hers. Server was nice but not attentive and everything just took too long. On the plus side the bar put out a great strawberry mojito but every other table seemed to be waiting a while as well. Patio full of noisy families with young children and seagulls circling/snatching food. Pizza was tasty and app was hot. After waiting for a single box for 15 minutes we asked for the bill and decided to pay cash. The fastest our waitress returned to us was when she came to collect her tip off the table. We eagerly scurried out. As a local, won't ever return.

    Tiramisu

The moment my mom and I stepped into The Club we were greeted by a lovely hostess who gave my mother and I a nice view by the sea. This was our first visit to St. Ignace and to The Club. Our server Isabella was attentive and knowledgeable about the food. We started with non- alcoholic versions of the cocktails available - mulled cider and Mackinaw Wave which were great. Kudos to Chef Noah for the local whitefish and the maple miso salmon. Both were delicious and excellent. Unfortunately while we didn't take pictures of the meal. The Tiramisu was the best we've tasted! It was light and delicious. We will definitely be back for more!

MAPLE GLAZED SALMON,Seasoned rice and green beans.

We stayed at the Breakers resort and after a 12 hour ride on the motorcycle we just wanted to walk to dinner so The Club at Breakers was the choice. We wasn't disappointed! We had the honey badger for an appetizer, it was so delicious toasted baguette topped with brie, pepper jelly, caramelized onions, then drizzled with house made truffle honey! Amazing. I had the maple glaze salmon seasoned rice and green beans . Very delicious the salmon was done to perfection for me, it had a little crispness to the edges but not dry ! The rice was very good and the green beans where good. Not a lot of flavor but still good. My friend went with the HONTE SUR BRIE (SHAME ON BRIE) sourdough bread, chicken, bacon, brie, swiss, arugula, cherry preserves, truffle mayo served hot and toasted along with fries and it was amazing as well ! Typical I don't go for a dessert but we decided to try the WORLD'S BEST MICHIGAN DONUT soft, pillowy donuts bathed in butter + cinnamon sugar with french vanilla ice cream. That took our experience over the top!! All around was a great experience. Our server was super nice and attentive she brought drinks without being prompted and checked on us the right amount of times even tho they was a little busy! My two dings were they didn't have the Brussels sprouts that I was wanting to order and our table was right n front of a large AC vent and it got a little to chilly for us !! Other then that. I recommend you try them out especially if you are staying at the resort!

This bar is at the top of the Grand Hotel. You do have to take two sets of stairs to get to it. I didn't see an elevator that would get there all the way up there. But if you're able, get there. There are two levels to this bar so maybe the first level is attainable with accessibility and then the top level might not be. Check ahead. This bar is absolutely gorgeous!!! There is a large or dare I say "grand" Chihuly glass chandelier hanging from the center from the upper section to the lower section, so it can be seen from both floors of this small but beautiful bar. We walked into the lower level first and the bartender immediately turned to us with a great big smile and welcomed us to the bar and asked if we wanted anything to drink. The wallpaper on this bar is light and beautiful and big windows look out over the ground towards Lake Huron. I was mesmerized immediately. Then we went upstairs to the upper level and there are 180° views of equally big clean windows at a beautiful sunny day outside was just breathtaking. We sat at a table and a server came over quickly and offered us cocktails and welcomed us to the bar. The service was kind of like being at Disney with impeccable service. I had the Machiatto Martini, and my aunt had a glass of rosé. The macchiato martini had Van Gogh double espresso vodka, Dorda sea salt, caramel, Dorda double chocolate, Frangelico, Amaretto, and Baileys. It was visually, stimulating and delicate and sweet and rich, as expected. I may try to make these at home - ha ha!! The views were spectacular and there was light acoustic guitar music playing on speakers, but not too loud and just a nice place to be in the moment at this magical hotel and have a cocktail either to end the day or end your time at the hotel. I'll never forget it.

He even wished my mom a happy Mother's Day before taking our order, which was a nice touch. We started with the Street Corn Nachos as an appetizer, then ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a grilled portobello mushroom sandwich, both with fries on the side (an additional $4 each). This was an excellent place to bring my mom since she's vegetarian, and the restaurant had plenty of vegetarian-friendly options. The food was excellent, especially the nachos -- the queso was amazing. The restaurant also gives you a lot of customization options, like swapping chips for fries for an extra $4 or adding protein to the nachos for an additional charge. That said, while the nachos were really good, they were still $18 without any protein, which honestly felt overpriced for chips, cheese, and vegetables. We came during lunch service, and overall the food, service, and view made for a great experience. However, it is definitely on the expensive side. Most entrees seemed to range from around $20-30. Still, if you're willing to spend a little more for quality food, generous portions, and a great atmosphere, it's definitely worth visiting.

I just wanted a little (big) glass of red wine and something sweet to cap off the night, and I left satisfied. Key lime pie was the special dessert of the day, so that's what I got. I can't pass up a special dessert that's here today, but might be gone tomorrow. The kitchen didn't just give me a slice of pie: They dusted my plate with powdered sugar in the shape of a horse! It's these little touches that make all the difference, and you can tell that they're not horsing around here. (Or maybe they are?) My glass of Cabernet was great, and I was told that the beer was great, too. They were very busy, considering it was the end of the season. Nevertheless, we got a seat right away, and the service was great. If you visit Seabiscuit Cafe during the evening, you'll see that it's a cozy little spot with dim lighting, where you can relax and have a meal (or just drinks and dessert, like me).

They were able to seat us right away, but wasn't a fan of the seating arrangements: booth seating for eight persons including two seniors with mobility issues. It was especially cold in the corner and the TV was right above us! I kept thinking the TV would come down on us and what a safety risk it was. Also, it was super cold inside especially where we were seated. We asked for some hot water and had to follow up on it since I think our waitress forgot. Seating aside the food was quite good. They have a decent selection of signature cocktails to choose from. Portion sizes were generous and easily shareable between two persons (sensing a trend here in Michigan). I enjoyed the Crab Louie salad and the sweet potato fries. In summary, the seating arrangements could've been better, but the food and drink made up for it.

Authentic Jamaican Flavor in St. Ignace!…read more We were so pleasantly surprised to find Jamaican food in St. Ignace with the addition of Kingston Kitchen at the Inn--and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Nick was our server and he was both attentive and genuinely friendly. Even though he was clearly busy, he still made us feel right at home. He offered some excellent cocktail recommendations--my wife especially enjoyed the Old Fashioned, which isn't even usually her go-to! We also tried the Ting with a Sting and the house punch--both were tropical, flavorful, and fun. Do yourself a favor and order the cocktail flight--such a great way to sample several unique drinks. For dinner, we had the jerk chicken and ribs, and both were seasoned perfectly. The rice and beans were especially delicious, and they serve this amazing "fruit ketchup" with the fries that totally surprised us--sweet, tangy, and addictive. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. It's a little more remote - just shy of 2 miles so up to a 1.5 hour carriage ride if there are a lot of stops. Some experience notes: *The wellness center with sauna is 24/7 as well as complimentary smartwater bottles in the fridge with the workout equipment. *They have an adults pool and family pool. *Resort-like programming all week with complimentary s'mores, pumpkin painting, pilates, tours, etc. *I appreciated that they reached out the week of my arrival and gave me ferry information and asked when I was planning to arrive, etc. They also kept in touch via text all throughout my stay. *There's a general store with homemade ice cream - I had the pumpkin cheese and mango ginger sorbets. Delish! We stayed in the double queen water view at Summer House, which made for AMAZING sunsets from our balcony - like wowow. It was also really quiet entire time despite there being a wedding! All the staff was wonderful but these two made our stay especially wonderful. My husband and I got a picturesque view of the bridge, a heated pool, sauna, absolutely breath taking bathroom, comfy beds and enough space to rest. We ate at both restaurants and ordered from each bar. We ordered room service the first night, which was so fast. We even ordered a second round. Staff made sure our first meal was good. We told them we simply had to try more food, it wasn't that we needed to order something else. Listen, I'm picky and a foodie. There is something here for everyone. The first night, we had the smash burger, French onion soup and garlic knots. Everything was wonderful. The second night, we had entrees at The Straits. My husband got the pistachio crusted cod whereas I had the short rib. Both were technical to perfection. The mashed potatoes were like silk. We'll be back and only staying at Stonecliffe now.
