It's very difficult to find a great clock repair shop, and this one is fantastic. We have a family heirloom mantle clock, 79 years old. It needed a good cleaning and tune-up. We made the worthwhile trip to Turlock. Keep in mind that you may need to wait for quality service, drop the clock off and be patient. Once our clock was back home, it's running like a champ. Not inexpensive, but you do pay for quality work. We also sought a repair on a cuckoo clock, and Gary was honest with us. He spoke of the clock's value, cost of repair, and the fact that we could get a new Black Forest clock for a lower price (which we did). Gary referred us to the source. The owner came out and got my grandparents grandfather clock up and running again. It's a family heirloom to us since my grandparents are now gone and sadly, It's been sitting in our dining room, not working for over a year until we came across The Clock Doctor! We made an appointment, he came on on time, put the clock back together, balanced the weights and what ever it needed, and now it's working again! We just moved into the Modesto area and discovered that one of the weights in our Grandfather clock had pulled away from the screw that holds it to the hook. Our grandfather clock had stopped working, after reading reviews I decided to call and was given a quote over the phone. Scheduled an appointment, he arrived on time removed the parts from our cabinet and said he would return in a week. Called the day before to let me know his arrival time and was on time again, reinstalled everything and our clock is working perfectly again and has a two year warranty. YELP not GOOGLE showed many reviews with a similar assessment! I dropped off my 100 year old clock Nov 2020 and was told it should be ready in 6 months. I ONLY left my cell# and this imbecile calls my Daughter, my Wife and myself in the past two weeks{FEB 2021} leaving rude messages and demanding and bullying for credit card payment over the phone. PEOPLE, understand that he still has my clock and I don't even know if it is fixed! I called him today{Feb 15} to address his intention and he hangs up, COWARD! Other posts show that customers similarly paid $495 for repair and two warranty, Guess what, the clock isn't fixed and you keep bringing it back until warranty is up! Sounds like a SCAM to me! I almost fell for it! It has been promptly reported to the local authorities and FTC.Gov. DO NOT GO HERE! This is over due for an audit and shut down! read more

gary the clock doctor gets five stars because he certainly deserves the best rating available. he made a house call in rocklin (he goes all the way to the bay area) to repair my grandfather clock. the pendulum was bent when we moved here a month ago and it was amazing to watch a true professional like gary complete this repair. he was precisely on time and repaired the pendulum and oiled the clock all within an hour or less. the other shops that i called around sacramento and roseville were more expensive and their work did not include oiling the clock. he adjusted the pendulum mechanism and balanced the clock plus re-positioned it on the carpet perfectly. it keeps absolutely perfect time (same accuracy as my iphone) and the three chimes work better than ever before. he has been repairing clocks in his shop in turlock for a long time and he truly has perfected his craft to a very, very high level of excellence. needless to say he comes highly recommended by me. read more

They repaired my $650 George Nelson wall clock for under $20 dollars. The motor in my clock was replaced which costed $12 and for labor I was charged less than $8. I was able to walk in without an appointment and get my problem fixed in about 20 minutes. I would highly recommend this clock shop. read more
