We found this little cute restaurant, The Clinkscale, and were extremely surprised: the food was incredible, the jazz ambiance took us back to the 1920s and the service was great. Came here for an early dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. Mike was accommodating and was able to help me make a reservation before the Halloween weekend crowds showed up. We started with cocktails. I got the Arizona Mojito which used prickly pear. That was a nice sweet change for this drink. We ordered the filet and scallops for dinner and decided to share each plate. So I'm from the Seattle area and have been to many a 5* restaurant. I have to say this meal rivaled the downtown Seattle steak and seafood restaurants. My compliments to the chef. The filet was cooked to perfection, medium rare, and it came topped in an herb butter in a sizzling cast iron skillet. The scallops came with a cilantro lime couscous. Man that was so delicious!! The scallops were seared to perfect tenderness and complimented with a green sauce that may have had some type of pepper in it. We finished the evening with an order of beignets and they brought out a flourless slice of cake for my wife's birthday. We had to get some coffee too to finish this all off. And now I understand why people love brunch here. The taste of a restaurant's coffee tells you how good their breakfast is. So with that, we will find a way to come back for brunch another day. The Clinkscale is well deserving of all the 5-star reviews that it has. I've been traveling to Sedona once a year with my family to our timeshare since I was a baby and now that I've grown and now have a timeshare out here, Sedona still holds a very special place in my heart. A week in Sedona however isn't a complete trip without a day in Jerome. There's not many places in Jerome that I haven't been to, but today was my first time in the Clinkscale. Now, I had been to the previous establishment dozens of times and always enjoyed my food and beverages, but after today can say that the Clinkscale has taken it a step higher than even the previous establishment. Today we were immediately greeted and waited on by Joe. We were offered a table, or seat at the bar and we chose the bar. My girlfriend and I each had an Eagle Rare old fashioned and they're were exceptional. For food, my girlfriend had a grilled cheese and roasted tomato and poblano soup and I had the club sandwich. Aside from the drinks being divine, the food was also incredible. Joe's customer service and bartending skills were all top-notch and I am definitely looking to another visit here this week before we head home. Everything about Clinkkscale was outstanding. We didn't think we could get a table without a reservation, but it worked out on a Wednesday night. We started with their specialty cocktails. Delicious. Firstly, if you have not been to Jerome, it is a quirky little town. The restaurant is right on Main Street and looks small from the outside but is pretty spacious when you enter. Our server was really nice and attentive. We were seated almost immediately and our drinks came out pretty quick. I ordered the Chicken Milanese. It was so good! The chicken cutlet was juicy and the pasta was delicious. For dessert, we all split the beignets. They were a really sweet and tasty way to end the meal! Top notch! We went in with an appreciation for the fact that it was a restaurant in a smaller community located near the top of a large mountain. There was a decent waitlist of 45 minutes, but they had an efficient check in process and were able to call and text us when our spot was open, allowing us to continue enjoying the nearby shops while we waited. The service was on point especially with how busy it was. The bartender was kind and took time to answer menu questions thoughtfully and made the awesome suggestion to substitute avocado for the brie on a sandwich to avoid a lactose intolerance concern. Every bite of our food was delicious from the greens salad to the crispy shoe string french fries. The espresso martini was delicious, and the overall atmosphere was warm and inviting. For a few years now we keep coming back to Clinkscale... and every time we do, it just keeps getting better. In our last visit recently though, we decided to not just eat there, but we stayed at the hotel. I must reiterate, it keeps getting better. Eric and Michelle Jurisin purchased and refurbished this historic 1899 building to a wonderful glory it is today! We stayed in the Victoria Room with great beds, nostalgic furnishings, yet with modern amenities - a terrific bathroom. Hardwood floors, themed furnishings, and everything is to the patron's convenience. I wanted to stay in the 'Spooks, Ghosts & Goblins' room, but my wife wouldn't have it! They told us that when guests decide to accommodate themselves in the 'Haunted Penthouse', which has the best views of the valley, they tell us it's at their own risk! This was an incredibly comfortable stay. Not to mention, since it's in the middle of town, you're close to everything, not that this town is that big! It gave us a very convenient opportunity to visit almost every gallery, bar, winery tasting rooms and shops. In extension of my previous review, I cannot reemphasize the restaurant's magnificence. This time we had the opportunity of having both breakfast and dinner here! At breakfast we'd already previously had their magnificent French Omelet that included a tasty country-style ham, along with the right amount of mouthwatering gruyere cheese and nicely spiced hollandaise sauce and a fab and tasty Chicken Fried Steak my wife says is to die for. The Lemon-Ricotta Pancake is the best pancake ever! Coffee's good, and Mimosa's are even better! They make one of the best, if not the best Espresso Martini in Arizona! They serve one of the meanest, tastiest and most delectable Shrimp & Grits, the 'Grilled Shrimp & Parmesan Grits'. The grits are nice and thick like some Mamas used to make yesteryear, the shrimp is perfectly cooked, tender and juicy -delectable, and the parmesan gives it an incredible finishing touch. This is a must have for Shrimp & Grits lovers. My wife went for the Double Stack Flat Top Seared Bacon Cheeseburger with incredibly superb bacon, superb cheese, perfectly medium, with house-sauce and brioche. My Sister-in-Law went for the Chicken Milanese with an incredibly tender and juicy chicken breast in parmesan crumbs along with lemon drenched arugula with an incredible orecchiette pasta which was mouthwatering. We finished off with an order of scrumptious and sweet house-made Beignets to try with our nightcap in our room. Everything we ate, the ambience we comforted in, the service demonstrated and the whole atmosphere was a delightful, incredible and memorable experience. Though it tends to be a little on the loud side due to the high ceilings, the solid rustic décor, and hard woods and metals, it is tolerable, enjoyable and entertaining - might I say, old fashioned. I must reiterate, it is plain and obvious the owners have a lust for fab cuisine and the service with which they provide it. This meticulously restored restaurant and hotel exude the detail oriented and fastidious demeaner and desires of the Proprietors. I will repeat myself by stating that The Clinkscale will be our stop for lunch or dinner whenever we visit Jerome - which is quite often. This is a must visit for anyone coming to Jerome, whether in need of accommodations, or great food, or both. This is a wonderfully great place to stay and eat! We started with the steak and Bleu cheese bruschetta- the steak was tender and just melted in your mouth, grilled onions and Bleu cheese rounded off the appetizer to perfection. I had the Cauliflower burger with truffle fries. This was hands down an amazing burger with goat cheese, garlic aioli. Unique and delicious. My friend had the lemon ricotta blueberry pancakes. It was not too sweet but sweet enough to not need syrup. Perfect paring of flavors, our other friend had the fried chicken and biscuits. I didn't try it but he said it was definitely delicious. Stopped by here first time. It was cold out and we saw the had grilled cheese and tomato soup. This is not your average at all. It was sooooo good. Blend of cheeses inside and there was cheese grilled on the outside like a crust yum. The tomato soup had pablano in it. We split it and were both more than satisfied. This place was great. Went here after hiking at Deadhorse Ranch not far from here. After lunch at haunted burger we decided to stop here based on its old timey look. Joe was a great bartender. Very attentive to the people at the bar and even giving samples of his cinnamon whiskey. We are currently still in Jerome and I wanted to make sure this review got left!! What an amazing restaurant AND hotel. We were passing through to Sedona for our anniversary and reserved dinner and a room based on all the reviews! It DID not disappoint. We arrived early after a long travel day (Wednesday) and the manager on duty around 1pm was fabulous. We sat at the bar and had drinks (I got the Serrano Mango margarita ~ spicy and perfect!, and he got the local beer flight and loved it) and their Parmesan truffle fries while they so graciously got the room ready EARLY! The garlic aioli is A MUST!!! Within 30 min they had the room ready, we checked in and crashed till our dinner reservations at 6. The manager on duty was just as epic, put us right at the window as we watched the storm roll in. There were so many options to choose from but I picked the steak and blue cheese bruschetta for my dinner (PERFECT COMBO) and my husband got the double burger with you guessed it, a side of aioli, and he got the soup as a side so I could have it! The tomato poblano soup was amazing, the pepper really stands out and is not spicy. He had the black walnut manhattan for dinner and it was prob the best he's had he said. I know this was a long one, but if we EVER are back in AZ we will be stopping to try more! read more

Really good dad move because the food was fantastic and the service was amazing. It is in downtown Jerome and it is popular, do expect a wait, but being downtown allows you to browse shops and take in the mountain views. Parking can be an issue, but drive around and a spot will open up. But the food? Cauliflower Bites - I don't think words can describe how FREAKING GOOD this dish is. I am vegetarian but my son, who is a carnivore loved this dish too. I will dream about this when I am back in florida. Ceasars Salad - very tasty, pretty awesome but I was not thrilled with the croutons. Chicken Milanese - my son thought this was AWESOME and rated it up there with the cauliflower bites. Tort Max and Cheese - this dish surprised me with its simplicity but with such a rich abundance of flavor. Peach Bread Pudding - RIDICULOUSLY good. On BUDGET - have the cauliflower bites as your meal (a lady an an adjacent table did this and she said,"And I don't like cauliflower). There is also a grilled cheese and tomato soup option that looked good. Want to SPLURGE - head for the filet mignon and pair it with a salad and dessert. You will pay for it, but you won't mind. A few things I DID NOT like - $.95 for our take out desserts (we were full) - 3.50% charge for using a credit/debit card. Something I really DID like: - They use a website called WAITLIST, which shows you what number in line you are and how long you have waited. This has been on my list since it opened. The sangria was great with a peppered vodka and jalapeños. We sadly weren't that hungry when we came but we got the truffle Parmesan fries which was so good. Fantastic late afternoon lunch for four hungry friends. A small town so far away from a major city I didn't expect such fresh, flavorful and delicious food. Each of our (4) orders were so yummy and perfectly plated. We ordered fish tacos, grilled cheese with tomato soup, a double bacon cheese burger and generous Clinkscale club sandwich Our server was so helpful and nice. Every employee seemed happy to be there. This place is AWESOME! We have been here for 14 Sunday's in a row now - so I can speak to the perfect consistency in their food. To me, that's one of the winning things that make a great restaurant... simply fantastic. The food has always been superb. It's fresh from the kitchen, healthy portions and full of flavor. A greasy spoon, this place is NOT! I am working my way through the menu and I have not had anything bad. The avocado toast is probably my favorite. It's light, and has protein enough for me. The taco bowl is wonderfully delicious and filling. We always enjoy the buffalo cauliflower with our breakfast and that's a treat. The service is absolutely perfect and the way I enjoy being treated when I'm out - like I'm family. Shawna is the server we have had the most and she is one of the best servers I have ever had. I know it's setting a high bar but she is truly the best. And also as consistent as the rest of the restaurant is! Some mornings there is a line to get in, so get there early. We had a leisurely breakfast on a Monday morning. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, the brunch menu was interesting and the entrees were very good. We had pancakes and a breakfast sandwich. The pancakes were moist and creamy, made with ricotta and garnished with blueberries. The syrup was lightly spiked and rich. The breakfast sandwich featured chili glazed bacon on fresh bread. The Jerome water is very good, by the way. The dining room is intimate with appropriate decor for the age of the building with a nice view. read more
