Color Me Mine does not disappoint. I have been here like five times or more now. Today was special…read moreas it was the first time my youngest child came to paint an item. My family got here when we they opened. Conner explained how to clean the item and how many coats of paint to put on the item so it stands out. He was attentive and very kind. Was willing to refill all our paint in our trays multiple times and never had a disgruntled attitude. He was the best helper we have ever had. He was fantastic at helping other adults and children around us as well. Was a experience to remember. I recommend this for 3 years old and up, just understand that it could take you 45 minutes or you could be like me and take 3 hours.

I hosted an event with Scarab Creative Arts last year, which is where I met Hannah, of Rose ceramics. She's teaches pottery classes here and she's also an amazing artist herself. I signed up for the six-week intermediate classes from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The cost is $275 and includes everything; clay, supplies, and all firings. All you need to bring is an apron and an open mind. The class style here is free from; just get your clay and go. Hannah walks around and checks in on your progress and helps with anything you need. If you've never sat in front of pottery wheel, I highly recommend taking the beginner class for more of teacher/student model set up. There are other classes offered here beyond pottery like painting, stained glass artistry, and even a few classes for kids. They do host events from time to time in their gallery and have a gift shop where you can try to sell your pieces. I'm excited to see what the future has in store for me when it comes to my pottery. I might just end up becoming a member here!

Went to the Art Fair put on by the Mono Arts Council in Mammoth today and was grossly dissatisfied…read moreand disappointed by the classless Art Center Director Dani Guthrie. This is a dog friendly event and when a stranger approached my dog, said nothing to me, and started petting her, I asked them to please ask before touching my dog. While I was still within two feet of her, Dani started making fun of me and talking crap with someone who had approached her information booth. I told her I could hear her and she just looked startled and did not apologize. Despite giving her a chance to be professional, she chose to continue to make this an unwelcome place while standing in a professional booth. Poor judgement and disgusting behavior for a family event. Will be complaining to her employer.

I joined a photo walk with Lucas from the gallery. Since I was the only participant that afternoon, he went above and beyond -- taking me to several iconic Yosemite locations where Ansel Adams created some of his famous images. He even gave me a glimpse of the photographer's home attached to the gallery. Lucas was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge, and it made for an unforgettable experience. Shoutout also to Ian from the gallery, who was prompt, friendly, and professional in his email communication before my visit.
