We got most of our influence and technique from the more experienced individuals (which were strangers) so it was very awkward. The knowledgeable clerks can help you with almost any question and they're willing to order you things they don't normally carry. I've had specialty paint ordered for me before! The prices are comparable to other speciality art stores and the fact that I'm supporting a local shop is super important to me! Allard's also offers classes and there's usually student art on display to show off what students are learning! Located near the old Trader Joe's on Blackstone it's a spacious building filled with art!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience at the college. I came in expecting…read moreto have my highlights completed properly, but because of time shortage, my hair was left unfinished. On top of that, I experienced significant hair breakage after the service, and my hair is now not in good condition. This has been very upsetting for me because I trusted them with my hair and did not expect to leave with my hair breaking like this. I was told to come back to complete my hair, so I made the effort to return, but my hair still was not completed. At this point, I would rather have my hair done by a professional outside the college, but because my hair is already damaged and not in good condition, I am hesitant to have another chemical service done right away. That is why I keep asking them to fix it. When I say "fix it," I mean simply complete whatever they originally started and left unfinished. I am not asking for anything extra or unreasonable, but unfortunately they do not seem to understand what I am trying to explain. I am also paying for this service, so it is not like I am receiving it for free. As a paying customer, I believe I deserve basic respect, kindness, communication, and professionalism. Unfortunately, when I tried to explain my concerns, I felt that I was treated very rudely, which made the entire situation even more upsetting. I understand that this is a college where students are learning, and I respect that, but there should still be proper supervision and care when working on a paying client. I should not have to repeatedly ask for the work I already paifor to be completed, especially while also dealing with hair breakage after the service. I am not trying to create a problem; I simply want them to understand that I am asking them to finish the work that was left unfinished and to take my concerns about my hair seriously. I am very disappointed with how this entire situation has been handled, and I hope management listens to my concerns, takes responsibility, and provides a proper resolution. Paying customers deserve to be treated with respect and should feel heard and cared for throughout the entire service.
