I was Helped quickly (getting the paperwork I needed to do campus visitation). The only thing that makes Clovis West tough for me is that there isn't really a centralized location for the kids during lunch time. As is, the students are spread out all across campus (with lots of secret nooks and crannies or young lovers to suck face). On a more serious note, though, I'd have to imagine it is a security issue. But hey, it's friendly and clean with a good sense of school spirit. Oh, also, it's hard to figure out where visitor parking in; so I park on the road (pretty far from the front office).

They bring students together and promote a positive learning environment. They have a great leadership program, great academic options, sports, band, clubs and many opportunities. It's not perfect as no school or person is but they are working towards the greater good and a great Highschool experience for all who attend Clovis West.

I like that it's a smaller class size as well because it ensured that every student really understood how to do proper compressions. First of all, if you are new to homeschooling, it can get quite expensive, but I'll talk about that…read morelater. I hated home school. Personally. My classes were beyond what my mom was able to teach me, so I basically taught myself. My kids have not passed me yet, but I think the time will come. In the meantime, my wife has taken on the role of mom and teacher. Mountain Home is not like the charter school I was enrolled in, that shall remain nameless. But it is named after a nearby forest, not Sequoia. Hint: It rhymes with Zierra.... Anyways, school for me was pretty much me and a book at home. My kids, however, can either stay home, or enroll in classes at the school, like puppetry, Spanish and computer. There are other options, like cross country, if you attend the Oakhurst location or want to drive your kids up there. They also do field trips. Field trips! My wife likes that she can select the curriculum, and in no time, my kids were doing work 1 and 2 grade levels up. She also gets access to supplies, and can use her teacher status to get discounts at certain places. Now, as for the cost. My kids no longer eat free breakfast at school, my wife supplements their courses with ABC Mouse, which isn't free. Then, my son takes piano lessons - $20 a pop(this is a good deal btw). Then, my kids needed somewhere to play at home. $170 for a backyard swingset. My son also wants to do cross country, but I'm not driving up to Oakhurst for that. So we enter him into races around the town every other month-$10 per race. And finally, family passes to the zoo for "field trips." Of course, you don't have to do all these things for your kids. If you don't care about your kids being bored, or fed, then it can be extremely cheap lol. I have friends that don't even teach their kids. The kids only do their work just before it's due. But they are also behind in math because they don't do any. Anyways, Mountain Home is so popular, there is a waiting list, and they are looking for a larger Fresno location. I'm so glad I picked mountain home school charter. They have been so helpful and really show care for each child and family individually. The communication is frequent and supportive. The enrichment classes are fun! You get the benefits of a public school, like picture day and a year book. While also being able to cater to your child's educational needs. Our teacher, mrs.patterson, has been so helpful and such a delight. My daughter always has so much to talk about when she leaves enrichment class. I have two toddlers that go to Fairmont and they love it there. They wake up every morning and ask…read moreif it is a "school day." When we walk into the school the director greets us every morning and genuinely checks on the children. Once we walk through the main entry, there is a wide open green field and 3 play grounds in sight. It is always a breath of fresh air and every thing I ever dreamed of for my children. I really enjoy that walk to class and every morning we pass through the preschool garden and check on the preschool chickens. The classes are small with two wonderful teachers assigned to each class. These are trauma informed educators that took the time to understand and work with one of my babies that just needed a little bit of compassion and understanding. Any obstacles we have faced have been handled with love and problem solving. Any parent that has experienced the heartbreak of loving a child that just needs grace, will understand how thankful I am to have found Fairmont and all the educators there.

We first enrolled with Grade Potential Tutoring in Austin, Texas last year. The tutor assigned to…read moremy daughter was excellent--she enjoyed working with her, and I believe the sessions had a positive impact on her grades. When summer arrived, we decided to pause tutoring services since our schedule becomes much busier due to frequent out-of-state travel. I notified Grade Potential that we would not be using tutoring services during the summer, requested that billing be stopped, and indicated we would resume once the school year began. However, I later noticed continued billing from Grade Potential despite my previous notification. Assuming it was an oversight, I contacted their office and spoke with a representative who reversed the charges. I believed that resolved the issue and that we would restart services when school resumed. To my surprise, while reviewing my credit card statement later, I discovered several additional unauthorized charges from Grade Potential. I contacted them again, and while the charges were again reversed, I expressed frustration and requested that no further billing occur unless we were actively using their services. When the new school year began, our previous tutor was no longer with the company, so we requested a replacement. The new tutor was excellent as well. Unfortunately, her visit reminded me to review my account again--at which point I discovered three more unauthorized charges made during the months we were not receiving services. I contacted the company a third time to request refunds and expressed my displeasure with their billing practices. I was referred to a manager named Taylor, to whom I explained the situation. Taylor offered to refund only two of the three unauthorized payments, stating that their system required at least one charge to keep the account active. This explanation is unacceptable. Their internal computer system should not result in customers being charged for services not rendered. I made it clear that I expected a full refund and explained that we would continue only if the issue was resolved. Otherwise, we would terminate our business relationship. Taylor was dismissive, spoke over me during the conversation, and was generally unprofessional. As a result, I decided to discontinue doing business with Grade Potential Tutoring. This is disappointing because the tutors themselves were excellent. Unfortunately, the company's billing practices and poor customer service overshadow their good work. I will no longer be using Grade Potential Tutoring and would advise others to proceed with caution unless they are comfortable being billed for services they did not receive. I have since contacted my credit card company, explained the situation, and was promptly reimbursed for the unauthorized charges.

The director and the owner lady (her picture is seen here as owner) are fake frauds. They smile and say all the correct things until they no longer like you. When attempts were made to work directly with the teacher, it seemed great, but not to these two ladies, next day I was asked by them to meet so they could tell me bluntly we are going to dismiss you and your child from our center, sign here, let's go collect your child's items. Okay bye! A household with two working foster parents. This was a foster child. Oh yeah, It was a no go to have a county social worker visit child at the site...huge red flag. Can't begin to express the hardship they made me go through when asked if my child could be given albuterol for asthma. Christian compassion?! What a joke. I pray their ministry is better than the practice of their child care center. God bless this place, for they know not what they do.

Our daughter…read morehas been attending Refuge Christian Preschool since November 2023, and I must emphasize that both my wife and I are very protective--some might even say too protective. In fact, I am often referred to as a helicopter mom. Initially, we planned to homeschool our daughter because we believed we were the only ones who could ensure her safety and care. However, as she grew older, we noticed her longing for more social interaction, especially since her sister is significantly older, and the only time she was really able to socialize with children her age was during Sunday classes at church. So, we decided to look around and see if we could find a place that felt right. After some research and a few school tours, we found Refuge. The school administrator, Lisa, was absolutely welcoming and wonderful. Based on our impression, their mission statement, and feedback from our daughter, we decided to enroll her. Fast forward to today, I must express how completely satisfied we are--actually, satisfied is an understatement. We are beyond pleased with the amazing people dedicating their time to our daughter and all the kiddos! The level of love from the director, Ms. Dina, and teachers Ms. Jodene, Ms. Alexis, and Ms. Natalie is something every parent prays for when leaving their child in the hands of someone else. They are excellent at communicating with parents, go above and beyond to make the kiddos feel safe, and the special events they create are truly magical. I am the kind of person who is an overthinker and can usually point out anything that is not right, or tend to correct things that are not being done as I would do them when it comes to our children. But with the nurturing teachers that our little girl has and Ms. Dina overseeing it all, I can honestly say there hasn't been any cause for concern. I actually feel a sense of ease dropping her off at school every morning, and for me that is definitely saying a lot!!! Some highlights for us include the growth we've seen in our daughter, the excitement she shows when she tells us about her day, and the scriptures she learns and recites. There are so many amazing things I could say about Refuge, Ms. Dina, Ms. Jodene, and Ms. Alexis, but the best testament is that our daughter genuinely loves them, and that means everything to us! We've been happy with many decisions we've made, but enrolling our daughter at Refuge is by far one of the best!

I was given very detailed information about what the program would entail and was able to see a class in session before enrolling. As my son completes pre-k in a few weeks, I have to give a shout out to Ms. Mayte and the team (especially Ms. Seena and Ms. Miriam) for all they have done for us. My son started the school year pretty shy and apprehensive and has blossomed into a bubbly and social preschooler. It's been an amazing thing to see. The school gives us regular updates throughout the week on the Brightwheel app and anytime I've had any questions or needed some time to chat, I would hear back from his teachers promptly. We get photos through the app as well that are always exciting. Sometimes it's a snap of playtime, a celebration, or completing a milestone and receiving kudos. Along with the basics of letters and numbers, my son has gotten to learn about different cultural holidays and has loved telling us what he's learned. He always seems to be doing a new activity and doing the half day program has definitely been the right choice for our family. Ms. Mayte took the time to really get to know our son and has been instrumental in all areas of his development this year. I can only hope that he will continue to have great teachers for the rest of his academic journey!

We truly appreciate everything she have done for our kid and feel very fortunate to have her as our child's teacher.
