If you are looking for a photography class to help improve your photos and better become acquainted with your camera, then this is the class you want to take. I was looking for something small so I wouldn't have to spend all day and months on end in a college course. Jonathan and Carlos have impressive knowledge of photography and are really helpful at explaining how to improve your photography. I found this group through Amazon local at a discounted rate and it was more than I bargained! I attended the introductory to digital SLR workshop yesterday at La Quinta in Fresno. Jonathan and Carlos are an effective teaching duo that made the class interesting, interactive, and enlightening. I take pictures for leisure and prior to this class, I had no idea how to use the manual setting on my camera! These guys have made me so comfortable with manual that I don't even use the Automatic setting on my dslr. Thanks guys; great experience! read more

I attended the studio lighting class in August and wanted to say thank you for putting all of the pieces together for me when it comes to lighting or at least put me on the right path. Kudos need to be given for the content and pace of the class, I didn't feel we wasted any time and we were always learning or taking pictures. I'm looking forward my next class!....THANK YOU! Took a class about 2 weeks ago and learned so much! Didn't know I was committing a crime using auto on my DSLR but that's at an end now that I know what I'm doing . The best part is u can tell Jonathan and Carlos enjoy photography so teaching it isn't a burden. Will be waiting for their 2018 dates to sign up for a photoshop class Definitely 5 stars! read more

I attended the Intro class because I wanted to learn and really understand how to operate my digital camera on other settings other than Auto. This class was exactly what I was looking for to start me on the right track. Jonathan and Carlos used their expertise knowledge to clearly teach how each of our cameras function. I'm not one to post reviews, but this was such a great course I decided to. Bottom-line - more than exceeded my expectations. If you want to learn about your DSLR in a short period of time, this is the class for you. I am fairly picky and was wishy-washy about dedicating 7 hours to this course on a Saturday. I bought it as a groupon and I went in with the mentality that I would just leave if it wasn't a good use of my time. Well, I stayed the whole time and learned so much. I had just bought my first DSLR camera two months ago and have a lot of interest in photography and very little knowledge. I also have very little time as a working mom with four little children. A weekly college course just wouldn't fit my lifestyle. This class was FANTASTIC. Best bang for your buck. Great use of my time. I left there feeling like I understood photography fundamentals and understanding the camera I just bought. I feel confident in experimenting with my settings and actually understanding what I'm doing and figuring out if I like the results. I actually know how to move forward and learn. I still consider myself a novice, but now I know what to do! Carlos and Jonathon have a practiced presentation that teaches you the basics, then gives you examples for application, and then allow you to fiddle real-time with your own camera and use them for questions. I will most certainly keep my eyes open for their future courses. I have absolutely no criticism for this class. Wouldn't change a thing. (and that's rare for me!) read more

These guys, Jonathan and Carlos, know photography and what it takes to create images that are eye-catching and thought provoking. My wife and I have taken the Intro to Digital Photography workshop twice. On both occasions, we walked away having learned new aspects of camera settings that could be changed to create images that were more reflective of the actual scene or subject being photographed. On our second visit, we invited my wife's sister and her husband to join us. All of us walked away with a much better understanding of the camera's capabilities beyond 'AUTO'. Our most recent workshop focused on Photo Editing and 'workflow'. They emphasized the importance of organization of the image files in a repository (PC, Mac, External hard drive, Cloud, DVD) and backing-up the images for piece of mind and security. As always, they focus on the specific situations of each of the class participants and answer any questions that might result from the material covered in the class. Even though we had used Photoshop and Elements in the past, we realized we had only scratched the surface of the application. We walked away with many helpful hints and a greater understanding of the power of the applications. We can't wait to try what we learned on some new images that we intend to capture very soon. We are looking forward to future workshops and hope to be able to participate in the Advanced Digital Photography workshop very soon. Hat's off to Jonathan and Carlos! read more
