Nice little spot. Very quintessential old Texas dance hall. Nice family came and brought it back to life.

We did receive a partial refund for her services but you can not redo someone's special day. Let me preface this by saying she is very friendly this is not a personal attack just my personal experience. 1. She arrived late on wedding day 2. We had to ask where vendors were 3. Grooms lunch was late 4. She did not direct photographers 5. We had previously asked for assistance with clean up during cocktail hour and after dinner that was not given. 6. She spent a good amount of time behind the bar. 7. We found out we were her first ever wedding as it was happening. Which should have been discussed before we hired her. 8. I did not see her for most of the evening. Nor did the guests. I missed so much of the wedding because I was acting partially as coordinator. This is time with my family and sister I can't get back, I am truly disappointed and we did not receive day of planning services as described. Had we known that this was her first wedding we would have never proceeded with hiring her through the venue and would have found an outside professional.

Tell me why on a regular Tuesday at 1245pm with nothing going on that the one beer I bought cost me $6.50. Thats crazy! There are other bars that definitely dont charge that much for one beer. At one time cotton was grown here until a boll weevil infestation wiped out the crops. Anyhow, I could hear live music emanating from this dance hall. Some of our family entered the hall because they needed to use the restrooms. We waited while listening to some good, live country music. I could see it was a very relaxed, casual, & family oriented gathering place. Then I found out this dance hall is one of the oldest in Texas! My husband and his family have fond memories of being at dance halls. This was so interesting to me because it's such a different culture from mine. We didn't have dance halls in the Philippines or California. There is a bar you pass by to get beer and other spirits. I don't as told that locals & visitors will leisurely hang out here. There are photos of notable people who have played music here.

The service was great, dance lessons were free (women in free on Saturdays) and line dancing. We reserved a table for 10 and I expected fully to pay but they were super sweet and reserved it for free. They even asked me and recommended a table for my group since it was my first time there. All my friends had such a blast (we had about 20 people there) and a lot of us didn't have any previous line dancing experience. The front bouncer / security even made an exception for my best friend joining after the game bc it was my birthday celebration. I wish I remembered everyone's name bc they all deserved shout outs but overall 10/10 ambiance, 10/10 service and 10/10 DJ music. I was able to bring cookies and my friends brought chips and salsa and mini Bundt cakes. They're super lenient about bringing food bc they don't sell any.
