My husband was so excited to see that they carried the Lexington Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. It was very good! We also tried the Thirsty Planet Thirsty Goat Amber from San Marcos. Wowza! It was delicious! It was a fun place either way lots of beer options, domestic beers as well. Pinball machines, too!

This business is more of a taphouse with lots of guest taps and lots of bottles and cans to go. Many of them are from local breweries or Texas breweries so that made this a great stop when we are hanging out in the hotel room and wanting to share a beer. It can be misleading coming to places like this that they are a brewery that makes their own beer but I saw no sign or indication of such a thing here. But since we weren't local there were plenty of brews to try that were local. I got a great Pecan Porter that was very tasty and a nice beer to unwind to despite it being a bit warm outside (which is usually when I want light beers). The place was fairly busy but Bastrop is a bit of a touristy town and the location of this place is right downtown so it makes sense. Anyway it was a good experience coming here!

I'm fairly certain everything is from frozen. There was a weird herb taste to everything...maybe rosemary? The steaks looked like they had fake grill marks on them and mine was a little tough. No "flame kissed" taste. Actually very little beef taste. I literally ate 3 bites but that weird herb taste was so off-putting that I took it home to "fix" it because at nearly $40 I wanted to try to salvage it. Same odd taste in the macaroni and cheese. It's a taste like you find in frozen diet dinners. I didn't even bother taking the Mac/cheese home. My husband had the chicken fried steak and it was okay. He finished it. I tried a piece and it had a hint of that same weird taste to me. No bread or rolls were served with the food. The iced tea was good. The back quiet room was nice. We won't go back and we're glad we didn't take guests for our first visit.

This time we went for breakfast. Since I don't eat meat anymore I was pretty excited that they had a few options for me. They have pancakes, French toast, Migas, eggs, and potatoes. I chose 2 fried eggs and a pancake which are huge by the way. I also got hot tea but I was a little disappointed they only had herbal tea but I did appreciate they had a decent amount of options. My husband got their breakfast sandwich he really enjoyed it. It was a croissant, with egg, cheese, bacon and he got sausage added. They have a small but mighty staff and make everything to order so it may take a few minutes to get the food out but it is worth it because it is fresh and hot. We will definitely visit again when we are in town.
