I've been coming here on and off for about 5 years. I recently went in this past Friday night to…read moremeet my friend for food and drinks. I ordered at the bar like always, and the bartender took my order and then walked towards the kitchen. Now I know they usually give you your drink right then and there, but they were busy and I assumed he was going to take care of something else first, which is completely fine! What I didn't expect was this other bartender, who was on the complete other side of the bar and didn't communicate me with at all, was actually filling my drink. I didn't realize that, because he didn't tell me, so I turned to walk back to my table. This rude bartender thought I was abandoning my drink or something, and used his big boy voice to yell "YOUR DRINK!" so loudly that everyone at the bar stopped to stare at me, and some were laughing. Now I didn't know that intentionally embarrassing your patrons is how you guys do business, but ok, whatever makes you feel important I guess... The original bartender who took my order came by and checked and on our table later in the night, and he asked us something that neither my friend or I could hear, so I said "I'm sorry, what?" and he rolled his eyes and walked away. Alternatively, a few months ago, my husband and his friend came here and they received the complete opposite treatment - free drinks, conversations with the bartenders, and were welcomed. I never come into a restaurant/bar, especially a small business, expecting anything for free, that isn't my point at all. I do however expect basic manners and respect. Based on our very different experiences recently, there does seem to be a hint of misogyny going on here. This place used to be cool and friendly, and food has always been great, but the men who work here completely ruin it. It's really disappointing.

The patio is really nice, and I truly enjoy sitting outside when it's not too hot. Inside, the restaurant is small, cozy, and lively, with a great mixture of vintage style and homestyle charm. The menu is unique, with great options for brunch, lunch, and dinner. I highly recommend the Frank Sinatra "My Way" Chicken--it's excellent! I've also had the turkey burger, which is very good, and the French fries are amazing. My friend ordered the Salmon Benedict and needed a Paleo-friendly adjustment. They were very accommodating, which we really appreciated. And, of course, I had a mimosa, which was great! One thing I've noticed both times I've visited is how hardworking, friendly, and upbeat the women on the staff are. The service has been consistently great, and everyone makes you feel welcome. Parking: Street parking is available and really isn't too difficult. Some of the spaces closest to the restaurant have a two-hour limit, but there is also residential street parking nearby. The New Deal has a fun, cozy neighborhood atmosphere, great food, and friendly service. I definitely recommend giving it a try!

After letting them know that it was still showing valid on our Open Table account, they kindly accommodated. We especially appreciated that they honored our request for an indoor table. We ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and Huevos Rancheros. We found both quite delicious. The husband kept scraping the bowl to get every bit of that yummy gravy. Portions were just right. Mindy ended up being our wonderful server. Despite the incredibly busy morning, she remained friendly and engaging. We watched her provide the same level of service to every table, while pleasantly managing the constant flow of walk-ins hoping to dine without reservations. It was a great experience overall -- we look forward to coming back! Street parking was tough to find. The Chase bank at the end of the block is closed on Sundays so we parked there without any issues. After brunch we explored the immediate area to find a couple nice thrift shops. Cafe 89 is right next door if you're craving an ube drink or dessert. We ended up at Porto's and braved the madness there for some Mother's Day sweets to take home. :)

Ended up also getting a burger with fries. Adding 2 beers our meal was a little over $50 - great deal! Went there to watch the World Cup and there were tvs both inside and outside. I was the one doing the work, and I want to spend my visit relaxing, not battling an app. Plus, we still needed the wait staff for questions (they were very nice), so it would have been better to just have them take our order and be done with it. I can say food was very tasteful. I really enjoyed my waffle. It was so yummy. I can say it was one of the best waffles I had. For ambiance, this location has a very lovely ambiance and decoration.
