I was blown away by how attentive and friendly they were despite being super busy. For the environment, the place felt a bit loud and crowded - which for one was a testament to how well liked it appeared to be (we are visiting from out of state) and how they had to make very creative use of the space as they must cater to so many in a smaller space. It was also clean and quite nostalgic with lots of interesting old time memorabilia - and didn't try to go too cheesy and over the top with the theme though again was a bit too busy and crowded and could have maybe used a more highlighted 'less is more' approach to showcase the ice cream shoppe feel, the old time candy shop ambience, etc. I also loved that there were no tvs to distract from the ppl in front of us, and though time period music would be fun, it might have made it even too much louder. I appreciated very much that they seemed to want ppl to talk and enjoy the company in front of them. The fried pickles app was really good, and the dreamsicle style shake and curly fries - sooo delicious! The ice cream concoctions we didn't try, but saw delivered all around us were huge and fun and looked so good! The BLT was a bit dry and could have used a good mayo or sauce, and my sister's Hawaiian chicken didn't have the Hawaiian bun but it was unique and still not bad. Though with the soda shoppe name I had hoped for more unique or home made soda concoctions or offerings. Overall though- the food was mostly really really good; it seemed cute and beloved and very popular with the town; and there was a clear pride in the place - and very apparent love and appreciation of the customers by the staff which was number one in what I saw and was very impressed by. They just need and deserve a bigger space!

Sat down and was greeted immediately ordering a water and sweet tea. Loved looking thru menu with so many good choices. We were going out for a big dinner later so this was suppose to be a small lunch. My wife ordered a cup of soup. I ordered a bowl of brunswick soup and a grilled pimento cheese sandwich. I could not finish the soup as the bowl was large and amount of meat in it was abundit. My grilled cheese was wonderful, I love pimento cheese. Unfortunately we could not try any of the soda or ice cream products this trip. The service is great and friendly. Restrooms are restored old school design. Will return to try other menu items and some Soda Shoppe product.

The…read morerestaurant is in an old mill and has unique brickwork and exposed beams to really set a fun experience. They have a piano player playing quietly to really create a lovely atmosphere for a quiet dinner where you can talk with your company. The menu is à la carte. The worst thing is deciding what to eat because you want to order everything on the menu. We had a group of 4 and we all ordered different entrees. We started with a bottle of wine but their cocktail list looked amazing and I will try that next time. The bottle we ordered was on the dry side but ended up complimenting our meal very well. I ordered the beef tenderloin with mashed potatoes and mushrooms and it was excellent. Perfectly tender. My table also ordered stuffed scallops, the ribeye, and the halibut. I wish I had taken a picture of the menu because the sauces served with each meal really brought out the flavors. The dessert menu was also excellent. They offered a gluten free apple streusel and it was so great to have a dessert.

While rustic, The Sycamore feels very upscale. Service was excellent! We were warmly greeted by the hostess and our server was engaging. She provided excellent recommendations for us. Drinks from the bar were deliciously crafted. The sides are sized for the table and I highly recommend the Mac N Cheese. We had the Winter Mushroom Ravioli, Butter-Poached Lobster, and the Grilled Bistro Filet. All three were perfect. Our dinner was completed with their impeccable Spiced Sweet Potato Cake. The Sycamore is a terrific choice for a fine dinner to celebrate a special occasion, for a date, or just to have a nice experience with friends. I'd love to take advantage of the Lounge which can be reserved for private gatherings. Definitely put The Sycamore at Chatham Mills on your short list...and move it to the top.

The good: beautiful space, excellent Harney & Sons tea, and outstanding scones. Unfortunately, that's where the highlights end. The milk bread used for all the sandwiches was dense, dry, and hard to swallow, which wiped out an entire tier of the service. No one came to check on us, so we had no chance to raise our concerns. A booked baby shower in the same room completely killed the ambiance, and despite noting a special birthday at reservation, it went entirely unacknowledged. Beautiful bones, but the execution made my birthday memorable for all the wrong reasons.

The service and presentation of each plate was outstanding. We had the 3 course Prix Fixe menu, and we got something different so we could try 6 things. Overall, the food was good but did not quite rise to the same level as the presentation and service. Rating by plate: - Pumpkin Squash (2 stars): It was very hard and not very warm. Do not recommend. - Pork Osso Bucco (5 stars): Best thing we had. Wish we both ordered this one so we didn't have to share. - Beef Tenderloin (4 stars): We enjoyed it, but have definitely had better for less money. - Seared Chicken Breast (3 stars): It was a rectangular piece of meat, which was unexpected. I would compare it to chicken at a wedding, but I've had better at a wedding. - NC Cheese Trio (4 stars): Large portion of cheeses with a nice variety. I wish the crackers had more variety (not all seedy). - Chocolate Soufflé (5 stars): This is their signature item and a must get! The name on the menu is more complicated than the word chocolate, lol.

We wanted to try something new so we went ahead and went for it. We pulled up and parking might be confusing for some, if you pull up behind the car wash just circle around to take a parking spot, if you pull in front of the car wash you'll have access to the drive thru and the parking spots on the right. Easy to maneuver around but very limited spots in general. Ordering was easy, they let us order at the drive thru since there were a few people ahead of us at the normal area. They have menus posted in 3 different areas, the 2 main ordering areas and then at the corner of the seating area. They also had a Katsu special posted on the window that wasn't on the regular menu. We really wanted to try some of the sweet and spicy bbq sauce, but they had ran out so we got the normal bbq sauce and Polynesian. I really enjoyed the original bbq sauce it reminded me of a thicker soy sauce with a hint of sweetness. The kaylenes Polynesian sauce was very sweet and something my husband really enjoyed. The chicken was cooked to perfection, it wasn't dry and was very moist. The short ribs were a little more on the dry side but good overall. The pork was one of my favorites. It was flavorful, moist and overall just some of the best pork I've had. Polynesian meatballs were just regular meatballs covered in the Polynesian sauce. My daughter ate almost all of them (she's only 2!). But they were pretty moist and reminded me of the meatballs you get at baby showers. Spam musubi was good overall, can't go wrong with it. My son really likes these. Mac salad was good, was macoroni pasta and carrots in their island style way. My husband really enjoyed the veggies, said it would be really good with a pupusa. Hahaha. White rice was cooked good. Our only complaint was overall it lacked just a bit of salt. But the sauces made up for it. Service 10/10. Food 9/10. Location 7/10. Price 5/5 You may have to wait a little on your food but it is very well worth it. Would definitely come back and need to get here earlier so we can try the sweet and spicy sauce!
