However, today there was an extremely grumpy man behind the counter who when I asked him to recommend a good strong cheddar, simply said: "There are loads of Cheddars at the end, take your pick". Well, the reason I asked was to get an expert recommendation, not to simply pick one out of several by chance. There was no one else in the shop, so it wasn't as if they were over run with other customers. I will probably try this place again, but it has been a little soured for me!

Service is very professional and those working at the store are very knowledgeable about the cheeses. While upscale with a traditional ambiance, the store is also fresh and modern. I once found Džiugas, a cheese from Lithuania, here, though have not seen it recently, and was really pleased because, well, it's very tasty, and it saved me from having to fly to Vilnius just to get a taste of it once more. In addition to cheeses, this shop also stocks chutneys, cake mixes, biscuits, jams and sandwiches. I haven't tried them myself as I don't quite like their range of breads (white sandwich bread and baps). Staff are nice and friendly and happy to look for and suggest cheeses in accordance to your needs.
