I came here with a colleague on my first morning in London per his suggestion and I was pleased with his recommendation. We walked in and there is a grocery store/market and then in the back is the restaurant portion. We were seated right away at a small table for 2 and given menus. Our server came over and took our drink order while we looked over the menu. I decided to go with the Farmhouse Breakfast which included 3 different cheeses, cantaloupe, yogurt, prosciutto, and bread. It was all really good and fresh. I also got English breakfast tea, since I was in London. Breakfast was fulfilling, but not heavy. After we ate, we walked around the store and went into there cheese refrigerator which is a climate controlled room filled with tons of cheeses. It was really neat and the guy working in there was very friendly and let us try a few cheeses before purchasing. This is a great local store and restaurant that I hope to visit when I'm back in London.

If I said I bought the biggest clove of garlic that I have ever seen at La Fromagerie you would be none the wiser as to what this place is. This place is a combination shop and (cheese and wine) tasting / cafe area. I confess I have only used the shop and have not fully sampled the sit down tasting/eating experience - you can look to other reviews that cover this. Though I will say there are friendly communal tables inside which seat 16, 8, 5 people and there are some tables for two. The fresh produce and the vast choice of cheese makes this place worth a visit. Everything about this place screams quality...and I would say the price mirrors this but I say worth it. In any event I bought the biggest clove of garlic you have ever seen...it lasted me absolutely ages and....okay the fact I smelled of the garlic and the cheese ruined my love life for a wee while but....I still say worth it....

La Fromagerie is one of two cheese and wine places on the same street in the heart of Marylebone Village. It is a small and intimate place, which serves good wines, and not just the French stuff (yay!). We went there around 10p and got a nice table. The cheese plate was good but we felt it didn't have much variety. For wine, the Valpolicella was nice and went well with the cheese. Definitely worth doing this place, especially after dinner. I think they also do brunch, but I haven't tried that yet.

This is posh foodie heaven. Everything here is absolutely delectable, enticingly displayed and more often than not, sourced abroad especially from France and Italy. Unsurprisingly, given its name, cheese is the big deal here and there is a large tasting room, temperature controlled and pungent to put it politely. However, there are also myriad other options including the best clementines I have ever eaten, chocolates and special blends of tea and coffee. There is also a cafe which serves possibly the best brownies in London alongside other tasty treats. It's not cheap but it is good quality, although I was surprised when the creme fraiche that I was offered with my brownie (excellent for cutting through the richness of the chocolate) was charged as extra on the bill. Still, if you can afford it, this is a great shop for all the special things in life, and if you can't, this is still a lovely place to pick up a tiny morsel of cheese or very occasional jar of something as a gourmet treat.

I loved being in the refrigerated cheese room! The cheesemonger was extremely knowledgeable, easily recommending substitutes when I found out they didn't have the cheese I wanted. An incredible selection. I'll be back on my next trip to London.

4 * - Ambience 4 * - flavor and selection of cheeses 4* - selection of locally sourced goods 4* - service Had the large cheese board and the beef charcuterie. Admittedly I just came out a 10 hour flight, eating raw beef and eating cheese wasn't quite the best thing for my lactose-intolerant tummy but even in my jet-lagged dazed, I appreciated the the flavors and the atmosphere.

Marylebone is a special place for lovers of London and La Fromagerie does the same for lovers of cheese and all that accompanies it. What if a good friend had spent a part of her life understanding all there is about cheese? Well her house would look like this, well almost. The feeling here is like a festive occasion so yes there is a busy atmosphere, lots of like minded people lost in food heaven. This is a slow food type of place so you better feel like settling in and relaxing. With the well curated wine list and such well thought out food where else would you possibly want to be? You can follow on twitter to see the days menu and pounce when the mood is right. I enjoy a communal table, especially when traveling since your sure to met interesting people along the way. Let them set you up with wine, cheese and charcuterie and lose yourself in food heaven!

I reserved a spot at the conveyer belt for 430pm. I arrived a little early, but they sat me. They had a spot with a reserved sign waiting. When I sat down the server explained to me how everything worked. You take whatever cheese you want off the conveyer belt and each color plate has a different price point. There is a cheese menu and each cheese has a corresponding number. The numbers are with the cheese on the plate. There's also unlimited crackers and "off belt" items. Most cheese also had a pairing; fudge, tomatoes, jelly/jam etc. There were also cured meats and pickles available on the belt that was up for grabs. The cheeses I had were #5- La Latteria Mozzarella paired with roasted cherry tomatoes #6- Cenarth Brie paired with tomato and chili jam #7- Cornish Gouda paired with fudge #18- Durrus paired with bacon jam #19- Lucky Marcel paired with Apricot jam #23- Truffled Baron Bigod. No pairing with this one. Each cheese was so delicious. The pairings were also perfect. It's hard for me to pick a favorite. The staff gets new cheese out very quick! You don't have to wait long for your cheese number of choice to come out. The conveyer belt itself was never empty. I highly recommend this place !

That would be the call for our next visit--a table-full of grilled cheese sammies! A note about the space--the space has a few tables outside, plus seating at the bar and a large, high-boy-style farm table for guests. I don't mind seating like that (more communal in nature), but I know a lot of people who would mind. Also, it's all stools inside, so for those of us looking to lean back in a chair, just know that is not an option here.
