Good service, pretty good food over all I would give it an 8/10 in terms of food and the ambience was good

Our party of two dined in the bar side dining room for the Early Bird menu on a Thursday afternoon. We were fortunate enough to get Kerri as our server. We have had her before but it had been a while. She has been an employee there for 23 years! She is a gem! While she set us up with beverages and scali bread, we had a look through the special menu that included soup or salad as well as desserts and coffee or tea-all at affordable prices. Kerri always gets the individual orders correct and always knows when to return to service the table in a timely manner. She really knows her craft and makes the dining experience all the more enjoyable. Kudos to her. The food (surf & turf and broiled scallops) was delicious as always. Wanted to truly give a 3, but Josh (Our server) kicked so much ass that I needed to give 4 stars... Have been going to the Chateau for over 30 years, but first time in this location... Was with a gf who lived close and we decided to stop in... Had a few things - Toasted Ravs as always were delish... I got a Shrimp pasta (they let me sub the chick, broc, ziti for shrimp) it was good, really tasty a TON of shrimp... We might have ate 3 baskets of bread - that shyt is addictive. But it was just a meal, it was fine, but Josh truly kicked ass, super friendly yet it wasnt forced & might consider coming back just to talk to Josh again, LOL He truly hustled his ass off this night & was a pleasure to sit with! read more

Pretty mediocre food to be honest. Open since 1933 and I wanted it to be better so they continue to survive but they need to up their game. Eggplant sandwich didn't have much eggplant or cheese and was mostly bread. Fried ravioli was just okay. $7.50 up-charge to get a greek salad instead of garden or Caesar salad. The dressing was good though - don't change that! Or server was also really attentive and friendly! We appreciated that! read more

Do people still eat here? I'm surprised it's still open. It's been around forever but I've never heard of anyone raving about it or recommending it. Ive only been a couple of times and both times were for events. The food is just not for me. Very mediocre. Also, this may not be fair, but anytime I hear of someone getting food poisoning from an establishment, even if it's just one incident, it immediately puts the place on my avoid list. read more

Went for my son's birthday. Waitress was pleasant and accommodating but the food was a different story. Chicken parm was so dry and overcooked it could barely be cut. Absolutely swimming in a tasteless tomato sauce that tasted straight out of a jar. The eggplant parmigiana barely had any eggplant, just breading. Husband had the marinated turkey tips which were also so overcooked and dry that they were almost inedible. We hadn't been back to the chateau in years. No more second chances. One of the best places you could go to with your friends or family and sit around and you can play Keynote right at the table they have scratch tickets there sports is always on the TV but now let's get back to the real thing the food I didn't think I was gonna like a garlic and oil pizza, but I tried it and fell in love with it. Also I would recommend the mushroom pizza but if you're in the mood for a cheese pizza, let me tell you you can't go wrong here either. Saw toasted ravioli all over on the outside of the building all over the menu so we had to try it nothing to ride home about not even crispy the meat sauce that came where that was fantastic. This place is absolutely HORRIBLE! Bugs all over bar and crawling on food. My friend got a chicken parm sandwich which they served on the bread that they give away for free. Clearly a piece of FROZEN Tyson chicken with a tablespoon of I'm sure Jared sauce to the tune of 16.50!!! Are you even kidding me!!!!! We each got one drink ( which were fine) bartenders very nice. I got a small meatball pizza which was pathetic and frozen tasting crust. The bill came to 78.00!!!!! The manager took 20% off due to the bugs as far as I'm concerned the food should have been completely compensated. I would not even give that to the outside critters. Came with a client, sat right down. The ambiance is very "keno/bar". It was clean, restrooms are clean, waitress was great. I was excited for the gluten free menu options, there are many. However, the food was just okay. I got the gf chicken parm and it was dry and bland. The gf pasta was ok. The rolls were unfortunately terrible. I think they might've been old and reheated a few times. They were very chewy. I'd try something else if my client wanted to come again. He had the pizza and was very happy with it. read more

Ugh...I have been here before and the food was so delicious. Conveniently located right off of the highway. Pros: The pre dinner bread is lovely. You get large loaf slices with butter. Waitress was the sweetest and gave good service The sauce for the pasta is amazing! The have good prices w choices of 3 course meals Limoncello cake was delish Cons: I ordered the chicken penne pasta that was absolutely awful. It should of been a lovely garlic oil sauce but instead it was a bland soupy sauce. The chicken tasted boiled. I sent it back and they replaced it with egg plant parm The breading on the parm is not good. I feel like they may prepare ahead of time and freeze products then serve. My family was in town for a celebration of life and were staying nearby so we stopped into the Chateau a few times for late evening dinners. We tried everything from pastas, pizzas, and whole belly clam platters. Everything was pretty good and hit the spot in our moments of need. It's pretty standard Italian food but definitely good. Went tonight around 6 o'clock there was four of us. We had high hopes as in the past it was great. We got the bread. It was cold but tasted good. It took a while to get some drinks and then what you ordered. I got pasta and meatballs with meat sauce. I really feel like the meatballs were frozen. They had that taste and we're perfectly the same size just like a frozen meatball the portion seemed more like lunch portions and they didn't seem to be enough sauce. The pasta was cooked perfectly though my buddies steak salad as well just two or three steak tips cut up into a small pieces and he was unhappy with the price. My wife liked her ravioli fettuccine and chicken cutlet, but our other friend wouldn't even eat the eggplant. She said it smelled like it was old. Like it had been frozen and her ravioli was very thin and hot. It's disappointing because this place always had a great reputation for solid Food. Not sure. We celebrated our father's birthday at the Chateau. My sister and I enjoyed the haddock piccata, which was excellent, although a slightly thicker sauce would have enhanced the dish. This restaurant is huge and has a big bar. If you want to grab a drink near your hotel, this place might be a good bet. As far as food goes, it was bad. Let me start with I really like the Chateau for soup and pasta, but the pizza is terrible and the fried seafood was inedible. Worst scallops I have ever had in my life! They were so hard and dry and the breading was so weird and thick they tasted like they were made 3 days ago. The fries were ok and the haddock was ok but the clams had a weird taste, the shrimp had the same terrible breading as the scallops. It was a terrible experience and a waste of over $100. ordered a cheese pizza and a chicken marsala. Pizza taste like cheap pre-made pizza crust and cheap can sauce and crust was all like soggy no crispness to it. Chicken marsale had 2 small pieces of chicken size of 3 fingers and like 10 basic white mushrooms pieces and no pancetta at all tasted like 10 percent marsala 80 percent butter and 10 percent stock will never eat there again. Okay, this place is fucking awesome. I was torn between chicken Marsala or a half hot honey pepperoni half buffalo chicken pizza. I told the bartender and told her to surprise me she chose chicken marsala then threw a curve ball and asked me if I wanted fettuccini, penne or ravioli to which I obviously said surprise me. Well she did indeed she threw the ravioli under that succulent Marsala breast with the tenderest of mushrooms. I have dined at other Chateau locations in the past. The lasagna and chicken Parm I've had at those other locations were good. Unfortunately the three star rating at this location is on par. To start, the order was for takeout. I feel a bit like I was taken out. Maybe dine in customers get a better experience because both entrées would have been returned if I was dining in. They both were either missing something or the temperature alone warranted a kick back. The eggplant Parmesan was decent. Though there were only two cuts of eggplant, the battering was minimal and the flavor good. The portion was small, the food was cool. It severely lacked marinara sauce for the even this small portion. At a cost of $23 for Italian food (which historically are large portioned), there should have been more food or lower priced. The Cape cod reuben too was cool. Though warmer than the eggplant, the fish itself was bland tasting. It was supposed to come with dressing on it but I guess they decided not to give it to us "to go" customers. Frustrating even though you check the food before you leave, it's things like this that you don't peel apart the food to check for a complete order. The bread was hard around the edges and the coleslaw was super skimpy. The upside of this entrée was the squash. It was the warmest of all and had a nice taste to it. Overall disappointing for $45 worth of food (two entrees) that missed the mark on taste, ingredients, and temperature. read more

Never thought I would be writing this review but here I am! We know Merrimack Valley is not known for great food with that said pizza being top of the list! Took a chance ordered a large cheese from Chateau, a chain restaurant ... hot out of the box, cheese was not runny, bottom of the slices were cooked nicely, moderate flop and even cuts. Some crisp bubbles also! Taste was fine! Good sauce not too tangy and a good crunch to it. I wa expecting maybe something similar to a papa Gino's but I got a really good pizza. Can't speak to the other menu items but I was impressed and this was an Uber delivery too! Insane that chateau has been in my top 5 so far here! Still more places to try. read more

I had ordered take out last night and when I got home I opened my ziti dish and there was a long stick sitting right on the top of my food. I then called and asked for a manger and when I told him there was a long metal thing on my food he said I have never heard of such a thing, first he was basically saying I was a liar and told me to drive back and get a new one. I did go back since I was fuming at this point and asked for my money back , there was no apology just attitude like I did something wrong. I am surprised by all of the bad reviews because I keep going back because I think it's really good! I keep ordering the same thing - stuffed haddock and the stuffed mushroom appetizer - maybe it's what I'm ordering but I have yet to be disappointed. It's consistent and tasty. And the fact I want to order you off Uber eats maybe very disappointed because I looked at your menu prices from your own page and I find either you or Uber Eats upscales the price I looked at one of your dishes that was $32 and on Uber it is $39 we're already paying for an Uber fee we're already paying for tip which is fine I get that but if you upscaling prices just make a few extra bucks shame on you I will take screenshots now you're not the only restaurant that does this I was kind of doing a back door investigation and I'll be posting these things on my accounts on social media not all of them are very popular but if you are with over 50,000 followers I will make sure you fix this problem. read more

Beautiful space and our server was so sweet, personable, and attentive. I just can't get over how bad the food was. The chicken on the marsala seemed like it was microwaved, the mushrooms were undercooked, and the sauce seemed like they just used a can of Campbell's condensed chicken stock with no Marsala wine. Such a shame because the place has all the bones to be an excellent restaurant - the food was just so bad. The moment I took my first bite I thought of the part in Caddy Shack when Rodney Dangerfield says "tell the cook this is low grade dog food". I was in the area for business, with not much else near my hotel, I thought I would give it a try. The place is huge and might have been THE place to go back in its "Hey Day". Love going to other Chateau locations. I had never been to this location and figured it was a good time to stop on my way back from Vermont. Plenty of parking and a lot of seats on the bar side. Keno screens at each booth. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating. The low rating is for the food. The mussels was their "special" and they tasted awful. The garlic sauce wasn't even flavorful and the mussels didn't feel right texture wise. I also can't believe they charge $16 dollars for a bowl of pasta with marinara. My pasta was falling apart and very watery - pretty sure they did not drain well and over cooked. Will not be returning to this location. read more

I love The Chateau but have noticed over the past few years they have gone downhill in their services. I used to order Manicotti. After years, they removed it from their menu. Stuffed shells were the next best thing. These have now been removed from their menu! Arent these Italian dishes?? The next choice was raviolis which were a little overdone in my last visit. In addition, the waitress forgot about our dinner so it was not hot. Then they were opening another section of the restaurant which was not kept heated as they were setting up with their coats on. They then opened the doors so the cold air blew on us for our whole dinner. Needless to say, the Chateau won't be my first choice when I visit the area. read more
