I was looking into this property for my grandmother who wanted to downsize her living options. I dealt with Karen Crisco who was a sweetheart. I never got to go on tour as planned due to my schedule, but I did drive there at night to check out the neighborhood. I wasn't that familiar with Hampton, so I didn't realize really where it was located. I did some research online (Facebook) & realized that it wouldn't be a good fit for my grandmother. The area was quiet and right next to the water. The view was nice and there was a marina around the corner. If that's your cup of tea, I would suggest you give Karen a call. I was looking for a more diverse senior community for my grandmother. This just wasn't it!

Finally trying the Chamberlin with friends and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Brunch is from 10-2 I believe and it is a bit pricey but we loved the place. The building is beautiful and the service was great. Elijah was our waiter and he was awesome. We tried a rainy day drink for $5. They have a seafood section with Alaskan crab legs, shrimp, clams, and oysters. They also have a omelette and waffle bar. And breakfast section and a variety of tasty deserts. It's gem of a place hidden in a retirement home.

I've been in the area for 6 years now and finally got the whole family togeather for the brunch at the Chamberlin. This Is a bucket list experience in my opinion. The price is 29 per person but considering the wide variety of good food and awesome environment this is a very nice option for a Sunday brunch. My kids destroyed the all you can eat crab, oysters, and prime rib. It's easy to get your money's worth in this fine establishment.

The Historic Chamberlin Hotel build in the 1820's houses both guest and residents. The walk through the hotel is like walking thru a museum. All of the original wood work is well preserved and you can feel the 1820's era as you walking to the main dining room and the pleasant aromas of a great Sunday brunch waft thru the hallway. Greeted by a nice young lady that took the time to make sure we had a table over looking the bay that was filled with majestic sail boats. The Main dining room has towering ceilings close to 20 feet with beautiful wood work that could have only been carved by hand. The brunch consisted of 4 buffet lines including, fresh seafood, breakfast with all the fixings, fresh omelets with a carving station with fresh waffles and of course a Desert table. The three of us visited all the stations. and I sampled the Oysters on the half shell they were the best thing I had all day, also did the Omelet and the carving station, the eggs were not fresh cracked and the Prime Rib was medium well at best. I also hit up the breakfast bar and had scrambled eggs, also not fresh Turkey sausage that was great and blueberry Blintz that was very good. At the end of my eating frenzy I hit up the dessert bar and was very disappointed as they all seemed to be store bought pies and cakes and not at all in keeping with the rest of the brunch. All in all the food was "okay". The service was also "okay" our server seemed a bit new and or timid but she did take care of anything we asked for. It is a bit pricey at $29.00 per person. This is a 4 Star location with 3 Star food and service and I give it an official score of 3 Napkins.

My mom spent the night on a cot with her head under the sink (which is on the wall outside the bathroom) and her feet in the hallway. She laid there with a broken arm all night long with no medical attention and no pain meds. By morning the other lady in the room was dead. I got my mom out of there immediately. Recently my mom was in need of a rehab facility again, and we decided to give the Gardens another chance. We'd heard good things about the place and that it had turned a corner. And in fact our experience was not quite as horrendous as the first time, but that is a matter of degree. She was in there for seven days and never got any actual rehab. They evaluated her twice, which consisted of having her walk from her bed to the door of her room and back, twice. But there was no rehab per se. She never left her room. I could see her getting weaker by the day and once again made the decision to get her the heck out of there. One statistic quoted to me by a staff member at the Gardens: two CNAs, 60 patients. Let's say it takes 20-30 minutes to get each patient washed up and ready for bed each night. That's 15 hours a day right there. Not a whole lot of time for anything else. And the need is so great. You can walk up and down the halls and hear patients hollering for help.

This place is terrible and very short staffed. The staff that is here is indifferent and cold and…read moreunsympathetic. My mother in law has been in three I different places and none ever been this bad. Here are some example that are so bizarre I can't even make them up. Day 1: missing her tooth brush and tooth paste and no one seems to know what happened to them. Day 2: Her cup and chapstick have now been stolen . We bought her fresh night gowns. Day 3: Found her in an old hospital gown because they said it was easier to dress her in!!! Really not your decision. Day 4: 11:30am and not even dressed for the day, said they didn't have time. Seriously if you truly care about your loved ones you will choose somewhere else. ** Just look at all the neglected people sitting in the hallway slumped over.
