He said he wouldn't charge me for the additional labor because I already paid 170 for labor and he didn't actually do anything to it yet. did not authorize the repairs, Nor did we sign the terms of service, yet they repaired our Nintendo switch anyway and charged us almost as much as a new unit. I looked up the part they replaced and it retails for $9.99 which means they probably got it cheaper than that. if they would have asked if we wanted it repaired, we would have said no and bought a new device somewhere. we would have had the satisfaction of getting a new device, a warranty, and all of the accessories that come with it. their diagnostic charge is a hoax. if that's the diagnostic charge, then it should come off the repair cost because you were diagnosing it and repairing it at the same time. If this guy (Tyler) could get a minus 5 stars I would give him that. My son's computer malfuctioned and he needed it fixed or the information from it downloaded fast for school. I called Tyler at Cell Phone Guy and explained the issue. He said that the cost of a diagnostic would be $169 or getting the info would be $90 plus whatever enclosure was needed which would cost another $90. I asked him how long it would take and when he could get to it and he said he had time to do it "today". I told him we were coming from 1.5 hours away but would leave now and bring the computer to him. When we arrived we asked if he can get to the diagnostic today and he said yes and charged us $169 for an "advanced diagnostic" up front. He said it would be about 90 minutes so we left to do a few other things and told him we would be back. Less than 20 minutes later we get a phone call that the computer was ready. When we returned he had simply had popped the hard drive from the computer and asked if we wanted him to get a enclosure from Best Buy. I asked him about the diagnostic and he said he had not done a diagnostic and if he did it would be "days" before he could get to it. I asked for a partial refund of our money for the lack of a diagnostic and lack of time he spent on the computer and he refused (and refused several other times after) and was terse about the issue. We left the store pissed as you can imagine and went to Best Buy to get the enclosure which cost $35 (remember he was gonna charge me $90 for the same enclosure). When I looked at his bill his labor charge is listed as $69.99 for "same day service". It appears this business also does business as Rundaq. I brought my phone in on 6/14/24 needed my screen fixed. They needed to order the parts, said it would be done Monday. Then Tuesday, then Wednesday... I didn't get my phone back until 6/20/24. What really irritates me is they had a part for my phone this entire time and just didnt look hard enough day 1 to find it. Mind you I'm homeless, struggling with money and trying to get into an apartment and my phone is my only access to my money right now. They told me the total bill will be $130 at the estimate and ended up charging me almost $160. There's other places in town that are cheaper and know what they're doing. My mom has already gone in 3 times due to her phone not working after they "fixed it." Her phone has frozen more than it's worked in the last 2 days and her earpiece went out at one point. Tonight, she has no phone because it's frozen AGAIN and has to wait until they open tomorrow at 10:30. Also, when they quote you over the phone, they don't include the $60 labor fee and $10 protection fee that they add to the bill. She was quoted $140 and walked out with a $224 bill. Just a heads up Was even told that they get on peoples phones and write themselves 5 star reviews. Update My mother was given a "new" screen and noticed there was a small crack in the corner. She called to tell them and they said they were closed for the night and to bring it in the next day. She brought it in and the owner said she would have to pay for extra repairs THAT THEY CAUSED. There are some lessons learned in dealing with The Cell Phone Guy. A refurbished phone was purchased from them that would not work with my cell phone service provider. They replaced that phone with two more refurbished phones, and neither of those could not be activated with my provider to make OR receive calls. The last phone arrived in the mail with a cracked screen. Everything (phones, car and OEM chargers) has been returned to The Cell Phone Guy, each with a detailed letter detailing the situation, and I am now "out" over $700. Remember, they don't do refunds. So, the advice is three-part: 1) Read the on-line reviews. I sure wish I would have BEFORE I chose to go there. 2) If you do visit the store, ask about the return / refund policy before you go any further, because they are not going to tell you what it is. (everything falls under "warranty" for them). I did NOT get a copy of their Square receipt at the time of sale. And even if I would have gotten a copy, it would have been too late because the transaction was already complete by then. 3) Be prepared for the possibility of an expensive experience without the benefit of having a working device when it's over, even if they tell you the phone you purchase will activate with your cellular service provider. read more

Run far away from this place. I took my phone in to be fixed and they charged me up front 200. I changed my mind less than 24 hrs later and went back to get my phone. They refused to give it back. Told me once it is given to them I could not get it back. I ended up calling the BBB who referred me to inspector who had to call them to tell them they could not due this. I had taken it to Max Pros and found out there's so many non-Apple parts they can't cover it under warranty because basically it is no longer an Apple product. Called first and was told it the total price would be $99 +tax to replace the screen of my iPhone and would be done in 30 minutes. When I arrived in the store I was told that $99 was for the part only, and if I wanted same day repair (they couldn't guarantee 30 minutes), the total would be $169 +tax. Of course they wouldn't honor the price quoted to me on the phone or work with me at all, it was an obvious bait & switch technique to get me in the door assuming I would pay the higher price since I was already there. Hello I had a screen replaced on cell phone that was unlocked (open carrier) and was missing the power button ok I took it to these guys and got charged just shy of 200 to repair it, I know to much money but I like this phone so I decided to go ahead and pay it. A week later I go pick up my phone and now it's missing the volume buttons, I ask the guy what happened why are they gone..his response was " the tech said that no buttons were there, so now what? Asked how much to put them back and he's says like 89$ and I just took phone shook my head and left. Gets worse I got get a straight talk card since that's the service I use and oh it won't work cuz the phones locked up to Verizon again, I'm really disappointed in the way that they just shrugged me off and messed up my favorite phone . I brought my Iwatch series 3 in to be fixed with a broken screen in October of 2018. Had to pay for cost of fixing it up front. They had called me said watch was fixed a week later but I wasn't able to come pick it up right away. When I did go back to pick up my watch they said my watch has been recycled because they hadn't heard back from me within 72 hours. WTF! Took my phone in to get my screen fixed, they said it would be 2 hours and about $240. I came in 2 hours later and it was still not done, came in 3 hours later and they were done but had lost my power button. I had to wait a week for them to get the part for my phone in. During that time my speaker also didn't work. Whenever I was talking with someone over the phone they said my voice sounded muffled and distant. They put my power button in and said they fixed the muffled sound. Only when I got my phone back my volume up button didn't work and others were still having a hard time hearing me. Took my phone in to get those two things fixed, but when I get my phone back it is now two different colors! They broke the back of my phone which is white and didn't have a new white backing for my phone so they put a black one on it. By this time I had talked to a manger who told me they are fixing all these things for me for free. Like it was my fault that they were breaking these things on my phone. Why wouldn't they do it for free when they are fixing the things that they broke! I then realized that my flash for my camera and flashlight do not work. So I take it back in and have them fix it, now I have my phone and my WiFi will not work. I took it in to best buy and they did a soft reset but said that it seems as if my WiFi chip isn't working and some wires got moved around. I take it back in to the cell phone guy and tell them about my WiFi. They had my phone for about 4 hours and said that they fixed the problem, but as soon as I got home the WiFi still did not work. I understand mistakes happen and no one is perfect but this is absolutely ridiculous! They offered me a free screen protector, no refund or even partial refund. The customer service is a bit lacking here. I had my phone's charging port repaired here and while I believed they appeared to do a great job, they ended up selling me a "new" battery which was clearly used in an old phone. It ended up swelling on me and made my phone restart randomly. I went in for a 99 day replacement (which is good) however I was given an off brand battery that was also used and not knew. I couldnt get my money back. So my advice would be avoid this place, find another phone repair as they are not truthful. So after doing so they tell me I need to pay 200 more to replace the battery and screen. Begrudgingly, I accepted and had them move forward fixing my phone. When I get there to pay he says I owe $250 because of different "fees" but this only includes a 3 day warranty. Paid it. My phone completely stopped working on the 4th day and they wouldn't do anything about it, blaming it on the water damage from before. I took my Galaxy Note 9 to get a quote on How much they would lend me on Pawn, and they only quoted me $150 for a phone that he called in Flawless condition, my phone has always been cased with a screen protector, and I also sold them a flawless Galaxy S7 bringing the total to $200. First they charged me $35 just to write the pawn agreement on paper on top of a 35% of my loan amount bringing the total to $324. My phone was only in pain for 8 days when I came back and paid in full only to find my original S Pen had not been returned and substituted a black S Pen that was not OEM original, intern which made my device not recognize it. But I had brought this up to Tyler he told me that I had to return the black one before he would even order me my yellow one back, that they lost in the first place. When I mentioned to him that not only did they make money off of me but I had my a amount do paid in full in only 8 days, he said how do I know that it came in with it, this is the way it's going to go because that's how business works. The "Cell Phone Guy" a combination of a business without values, integrity or competency: I had simply brought my iPhone 6 Plus to the store to have a replacement screen. Since I was from out of town I paid a $30 premium for their "rush" service. A service to get your phone back with a new screen within an hour. Upon return an hour and a half later, they were just putting the finishing touches on installing a new screen. Since I was there to see it finished - I was able to see them place the initial test call to insure everything worked. Upon the test call I could see something was wrong, the employee appeared a bit disgusted - he had kept covering the camera with his hand while on the phone and I asked what was wrong. He said that the proximity sensor (which turns off the screen when it senses your face during a phone call) was not working. So back to the desk he went to try a fix it. Up to this point I was not yet bothered by the service or business; but standing in their small foyer waiting I was able to observe the current customer interactions going on. After a hour and multiple tries (3 more re-assembelies) to fix the proximity sensor they said they would have to order a sensor (2 weeks out) to fix something they broke during the process. Since I am 100 miles from the business I asked for any other solution as I cannot justify another trip, I even asked for a discount as they had been the ones to break the sensor in the process. This was not an option either. It was not even an option to get the "rush" charge waived which was requested, considering Rush was a guarantee 1 hour job and we are 3 hours into the job. During my wait - I witnessed elderly customers get taken advantage of when they were buying a phone ($400 for a used iPhone 4S!); naive and technology newbies are the the prey of "The Cell Phone Guy" To justify not reimbursing for their breaking of the sensor, the business owner would assert, "we've been in business 7 years, we must be doing something right" From that statement and seeing the business "transactions/rip-offs" going on this time - I believe the customer never comes first here - (unless coming first means ripping them off!). Having seen them lie and take advantage of every customer during my wait; I was not surprised at his candor. Knowing that I knew he was a rip-off; he suddenly wouldn't even offer back my phone (holding personal data hostage) without a cash payment (yep suddenly he wouldn't take a credit card) (which is illegal); having to get the police involved so that I could get my phone back - summarizes my experience with the most scheming scammers in Sioux Falls. I am still in dispute with him on the credit card charge; as I walked a way with a phone in worse condition than it came in with; his refusal to refund or credit anything (but admitting they brokethe phone) is the icing on the cake... read more

Super great service. I had my iPhone 4s screen fixed just yesterday and it works great. Only complaint is that my battery percentage bar is now yellow and not green. They fixed it for a lot cheaper than the Apple Store would have ( it was like $400 at the Apple Store) and they fixed for just $130 with a 30 day warranty. Second time being there and I love it. Great customer service and employees! The thing they fixed was my screen had turned tinted green. They gave me the front of my phone white for no extra cost! The worst place to go for a phone. I thought it would be less expensive to buy a used phone from them over other retailers WRONG! Ripped off on layaway the phone i got was so called unlocked, after i got it switch sims, no sound and it was not unlocked. I spent the entire weekned there with them trying to fix it and pass me off on cheap 45-50 dollar phones. I paid a total of $170.00 on the phone i put on layaway. Also he claimed it was a sim adapter kit issue that he sell me one for $30.00 I passed as the exact same one is $3.75 on Amazon. Im a busy mother and put myself last.
