Happened upon this place as a happy little accident while on a road trip with my husband, and had the best experience. The lodge backs up to a wonderful babbling brook that lulls you to sleep with a window open. The view was spectacular! And there was a nice, clean hot tub there to use, too! The room was VERY clean as well as the kitchenette we had. If we ever happen upon this area of Colorado again, we will definitely be staying again! read more

From the minute I arrived on site I knew my time at the Cedaredge Lodge was going to be a unique and wonderful experience. I had called ahead to ensure an evening check-in wouldn't pose a problem. Donna assured me that they live on site so there would be no issue. Knowing I'd be arriving after 8PM, she asked if I wanted to have them prepare me dinner, since all of the local restaurants would have been closed by that time. Not being familiar with the area, I appreciated this tip and accepted Donna's offer. Upon arriving at the lodge I met Gary in the office. He quickly checked me in, walked me to my room, and provided me with a thorough tour of the grounds. From the street, this lodge may appear to be a simple motel. However out back is a hidden oasis; fully equipped for ultimate relaxation. Gary presented me with a few options of where I could enjoy my made-to-order dinner. How could I choose any location other than inside the lighted treehouse? Within a few minutes of me settling into the simple treehouse, both Gary & Donna repeatedly visited me, bringing me item after item. My meal consisted of delicious grilled chicken breast, corn on the cob, baked potato, roll & salad. They didn't skimp on the fixings either. They provided bacon/cheese/sour cream/butter for my baked potato as well as a giant bottle of BBQ sauce. It was A LOT of food and so delicious! My second night at the lodge, I spent over an hour reading peacefully stretched out on the creek-side hammock. At one point a roaming deer came within 10 feet of me, just on the other side of the creek. Checkout couldn't have been easier. I walked into the office and dropped my key in the basket on the counter. That was it. There's a ton more I could share re: the delightful little touches that this place provides. If your travels take you anywhere near the Cederedge area, it's absolutely worth your while to book a room at the Cedaredge Lodge! read more

From the highway, the property looks basic but then the goodness starts. Gary and Donna make you feel like family. You immediately know this is going to be a great stay. Then comes the room. Couldn't imagine a more lovely place to stay. And to have it run by a wonderful couple living their dream and creating a beautiful atmosphere made it perfect. This was our first trip with our baby daughter and they took such good care of us at Cedaredge Lodge. There's lots of cool stuff to do but it's also an easy place to be quiet and take it easy. I have traveled the world and I have visited very few places with the love, attention and hospitality offered by the Cedaredge Lodge. It calms your mind, eases your soul and just brings your so close to nature. A deer 20 ft from our door, a sky where your can see every star of the Milky Way (!!), fresh crispy air, cosey warm rooms and a hammock by a fresh running spring. A meditative experience overall. Oh my gosh.... this place is super cute!!!! They have a lovely river in the back with picnic tables and a swing. Totally adorable. My favorite was that their cleaning service must have OCD everything was place perfectly, totally symmetrical and super clean. If you have kids or are a kid at heart, they have a game room in the property. The host are also very nice and accommodating. This place is a YES! Definitely stay here. read more

We had an amazing time... The rooms are extremely clean, comfortable, and stocked with all necessities. The personal touches add greatly to the character of each room. The creek in the back yard is magical especially at night when it's lit up. They have several areas to relax and enjoy the running water including a hammock! The hot tub is spacious and clean, the arcade is adorable, the community kitchen is lovely, the horse shoe pits are well groomed and they have a treehouse as well! This is one of the best hotels In our experience. Gary and Donna are wonderful innkeepers. Gary can whip up excellent meals (prearranged). Donna gave my wife Sally an incredible healing massage. There is a hot tub available and a game room with TV. There is a huge outside kitchen where one can prepare a meal to feed family, friends or other patrons who'll become friends. Try the fire ring at night and share tall tales or roast marshmallows. Gary and Donna are nice accommodating people. The rooms and beds are very comfortable. At night the creek whispered us to sleep. Stayed on a road trip through Colorado. Absolutely loved our stay. Donna and Gary made us feel welcomed and taken care of. There is an amazing attention to detail that made us feel instantly comfortable and relaxed. Our room was cozy, very clean and had beautiful custom wood work all throughout as well as nice mood lighting. There is a creek that runs behind the lodge which you can hear while in your room or admire from the creek side kitchen and gathering area. There is also an outdoor hot tub (it was a wonderful treat after hiking) and a game room along with other really charming features. I can't say enough of this place and we'll definitely stay again! This place is a hidden gem. Looks fairly ordinary from the road but the rooms are superb. You can tell the staff really puts their heart and soul into their work. The rooms were extremely clean. The check in staff was very eager to show off all the facets of the room and the property. The housekeeping staff was very attentive to our requests and needs. They have lots of fun extras as well. Bikes to borrow for around town. A fun old game room. Bocci ball, horseshoes and even croquet. The internet here is reliable and very fast. Pictures of their rooms on the website are very accurate. Not sure if I will ever be through here again but if so have no doubt where I will stay. They have outdone themselves. read more

Gosh.. I hate to have to update this review because we had a great time there previously. I reserved a room with the intention of spending Christmas there again and having a family dinner in the community room. Not sure what has happened to facilitate the change in attitude, but although it is advertised as a community room, we were discouraged by Gary from using it to prepare a meal there. Can't use and not use at the same time unfortunately. Got a totally mixed message and felt uncomfortable that we were welcome there. Too bad there is this change of heart, I see it is a loss for the value of the stay. Canceled the reservation because of it. At least they did give a complete refund. read more

This is not a lodge...it's home from the time I drive in to the time I regrettably depart. It's a cute place with a beautiful creek running behind the building. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. But our favorite part was how accommodating the owners and the staff were after we showed up around midnight which was rather inconsiderate on our part. DO NOT MAKE A RESRRVATION AT THE CEDAREDGE LODGE!!! I made a Reservation to stay at this Hotel/Lodge through Booking.Com The booking was for $349.00 on 10-16-2015 There was no notice that they would take half of the cost of the stay when I booked this stay. I am partly to blame as we own a business and I used our business expense card. I had booked stays before that my card number was only to hold the room, but the stay would be paid at Check in. On Saturday 10-17-2015 At approx. 6:45pm I received a call from an individual that stated that they had just run our card and it did not authorize payment for insufficient funds. The girl being young said that it was OK that they would cancel or reservation. I told the young lady that this was not acceptable to call at 6:45 pm on Saturday to threaten to cancel our reservation. I told her I would do it on Sunday as my business partner had our business card. I then called back after transferring funds to pay and either the manager or owner, stated that they were cancelling our reservation as I was argumentative. I own a business that is customer service related and I was not abusive. After being insulted and having my reservation canceled, I went back to booking.com to see if there was anything that stated thee rooms would be deducted. And did not find anything that stated this, but the room was placed a little over $200.00 more than my booking. This individual not only being rude but literally not giving me a chance to speak leads me to the conclusion that they wanted to book this room for more money. They will never again be recommended by me or anyone else. read more

I stayed here in late May 2018. Donna and Gary say that God lives here with us and considering their warmth and hospitality and after sleeping in a wonderfully comfortable bed with the creek behind my room bubbling in my ears, I believe those words to be the truth. read more

Great find!! We stayed here during the 2018 Bicycle tour of Colorado. Very calm, peaceful surroundings. Enjoyed the hot tub by the creek after a long day's ride. This is the cutest place I have ever stayed. The photos online looked a little sketchy but they do not do it justice. This is a very small lodge that is big on style, service and amenities. The proprietor/chief-cook/bottle-washer greats you warmly, escorts you to your room and inspects it with you, then takes you on a tour of the property. Our room has a king sized bed, a desk with plenty of outlets, a lazy-boy chair with a side table, a full eat-in kitchen and a full bath. The common areas are well furnished and there is plenty is places to relax alongside the running creek. I opted for the hammock and never even cracked my book, just sat there in the serenity listening to the creek. DH sat in the lounge area by the full, giant community kitchen. There is a menu available so if you want something you just ask Gary and he will make it for you and deliver it wherever you want to eat whether in your room or any of the outdoor seating areas or in the lounge. There is also a very large game room with foosball, air hockey and even a skee-ball lane. What a great getaway. I truly wish we were staying longer. read more

Really enjoyed this place. Was there for AppleFest weekend. Gary and staff were outstanding hosts. The food was excellent (ribs and meatloaf when we were there) capped off by some freshly flambéed bananas foster. Horseshoe pits, hammock by the stream, dinner anywhere you want to relax.
