Nicholas & Nancy are running a fine establishment! The 1st…read moregreat is the location. Hours outside of the city and nestled on a hefty acreage you find yourself in a peaceful beautiful QUIET setting, where you can unwind and recharge. I loved the outdoor back patio breakfast nook where I woke up each morning and spend hours alone listening the the trees sway in the wind enjoy this amazing setting. The 2nd great is the accommodations. Every square inch is clean, nicely decorated and newly restored. There is great thought is put into each room & it has a charming character. The 3rd great is the FOOD! We had the privilege of coming in on a rare evening where Nicholas cooked pasta bolognese from scratch! Paired with a red wine, it was VERY good!!! Breakfast each morning was gluten free, and so delicious including fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables from the garden! The 4th was the hospitality. I felt as I was the only one, and completely waited on a catered to. They care greatly about their guests, & it shows in their actions, down to having healthy snacks, grab and go items to eat and coffee and tea day or night. If you want to GET OUTTA TOWN, relax, and be on a lax schedule this is the place for you!! Can't wait to be back. **Also know readers, that my best friend compared this place to one of the best b&bs she stayed at months ago in Cape Town, South Africa. That should sum it up!!!!

In short, a wonderful and rejuvenating experience…read more  I needed a few days off to recharge and decided to visit Paonia, a beautiful small town on the western slope that is a throwback in time. Yet, it combines art, farm-to-table restaurants, organic farms, vineyards, a local brewery and traditional farming.  I started looking for accommodations around Paonia where I could rest and relax and be surrounded by nature. I found it in this beautiful modern farm stay bed and breakfast that came highly recommended. Not only is every part of the farm well cared for, doing yoga in the forested area is plain invigorating. Walking around the property I was surrounded by wonderful views, beautiful flower and food gardens,  and felt exactly how I wanted to feel, reconnected with nature in a very well cared for and modern bed and breakfast farm stay.    The proprietress was fabulous. From the moment I called, she was attentive and asked if I had special dietary needs, worked with me on my arrival time, and provided great hiking information for the local mountains. The space is impeccable, rooms are clean and modern. The gluten free breakfast was absolutely delicious and was served on the patio overlooking the gardens.  The space and the attentiveness allowed me to unplug from the daily grind, reconnect wth nature, and recharge. I returned home looking forward to the next time I will visit. I highly recommend Agape Farm and Retreat.

Wow. We came here as a reference by friends and we couldn't have been more impressed. The owners…read moreare absolutely delightful and the food Michelle prepares is amazing. I am gluten free and she was respectful of that and made us the most amazing breakfasts. It is located close to downtown Palisade and has everything you could need.

The word that comes to mind is "Tired". When my wife…read morecalled Dave to arrange to stay, it was mentioned that they (Him and Michelle) were tired. It was closing in on the end of the 'season' for them and it showed. (The price didn't come down for the end of season though.) Most every feature, water fountain, back yard, hot tub area, bar area outside looked uninviting. We chose not to sit down in the back yard because the chairs where so filthy. And that was just the common areas. The location is awful. Right on one of the busiest corners in the town. If you were on the front porch area you had to stop talking until traffic passed to carry on a conversation. Non stop traffic. With the window air conditioner in our room, it's like an open window to the traffic noise. And let's not forget the trains that run all hours of the day and night blowing their horn through at least a dozen intersection through town! Good luck trying to sleep. The breakfast was skimpy. Not like the pictures on their website. The pictures are apparently when they first started their business. It's apparently been down hill from there. There are junky looking vehicles parked off to the side of the property. The bedroom plug-in was so old and worn out that when I tried to plug in my phone charger it fell out. You get the picture. Don't get me wrong, Dave and Michelle seem like nice people. For what they charge and what you get, I would not recommend it. I would not recommend staying in Palisade at all because of the trains. Visit, yes; Staying, no.
