Kappa Saprissa home 2015/16
Jose Manuel C.

Showed up while giving my dear a tour of Folsom. Record selections good , she decided to get an Earth Wind and Fire one. CDs were a bit low stock but I got a zingy Marley one for 5. The thrift side of clothes is interesting they have all styles. Sports gear was something that perhaps they could use a bit of research, I got a 20 dollar soccer jersey from a team in Costa Rica, made by the brand kappa. Bit of a steal considering it had new clothes tags . Will return someday

Brothers Johnson cover with a Rufus and Chaka Khan record. Isley Brothers "Showdown" cover with their "Winner Takes All" record.

I was really excited to come up on these two records just to find out that the wrong records were inside of them. One of them was even in a plastic wrap. I called to see if there was some way to get a refund over the phone and unfortunately, that's not possible. While I could have accepted that, the person I spoke with over the phone was dismissive and said "Mhm there's nothing we can do over the phone. Sorry about that, I hope your day gets better". That last comment was rude and unsolicited- not sure what warrants the patronizing attitude, but the comments on here about rude customer service certainly check out.

This place is aptly named the Cave. The decor is a time warp to a typical teenage boys bedroom in the 1980s in a John Hughes movie. They got gently used vinyl, CDs, DVDs, gaming, movie posters, props, clothes, cosplay costumes, shoes, animated action figures, comic books, collectible toys, stuffed animals, playing cards.... blah blah blah. Complete with a bit of disorganization, messiness, and mugginess. I spotted a He Man, Lieutenant Barkley Star Trek Next Generation, and Lisa Left Eye Lopes action figures in its original packaging. A blast from the past. I left them on the shelf though. So go on in and get them. Hubs bought some vinyl records. The vinyls are not in a particular order, not by genre or alphabetical by artist. So pack some patience while going through the stacks. This place is worth checking out when you are on the hunt for the rare hard to find oldies. There are not a lot of these types of businesses left.

Shoes behind the counter I wanted to take a look at.

Very rude customer service, I asked to look at some shoes they had in stock the reply I got was "you can't go back there but somebody can help you out". I waited for a bit and decided to leave because no one was trying to help me out. There were 4 employees behind the counter either on the phone or behind a computer. Will not be returning and do not recommend this place to anyone. Linsey was the employee that gave me that response. I understand if you're in the middle of something and ask me to wait for a few minutes but brushing off a customer to someone else is very unprofessional. I attached photos of the shoes behind the counter that I was trying to take a closer look at.

The cb established 1962 top on!

My suggestion... organize your store and check your used vinyl before you sale it. Collectors do not want warped vinyl.

The owner is very passionate about music and you can tell it from talking to him. He is friendly, was chatting with all the different customers about what they picked, and even gives good suggestions! I bought a record from a band I had never heard of before (Fox Medicine). They were in the metal section but it was cute and bright pink. I looked them up quickly and listened to a couple songs and told myself I had to get that record. The owner was chatting with me about if I liked them or not and I was honest about literally just discovering them. He gave me one of their posters free of charge! They had just performed at his store and so he had a few left. I didn't realize he was giving it to me until we were leaving, I thought he was just showing me the poster. That absolutely made my day once I realized he was just giving it to me. The variety in this store is amazing with loads of vinyl, CDs, cassettes, and even music equipment! Prices are very fair, and everything is properly labeled. Instead of me having to get my hopes up inspect the record, the front usually says the condition, pressing, if it's colored, etc. I don't have to waste my time inspecting it myself, as the staff has already done the leg work. They even have a bargain bin (wall) with great deals! Down on the floor was a box that had cheap project vinyl too. When I worked at a record store I remember teachers coming in looking for the cheapest ones they could find for a various lessons they had coming up. I'm glad The Audio Nerd has a box for people like them. The store is a little bit cramped with how small it is and with how much product they carry, but it is such a gem and so fun to flip through. You can spend an hour or two easily in there despite it being a small store. Live shows even happen here! They move some of the tables out and put a band in there. Shout out Hayden for always promoting upcoming shows there! And as if this place couldn't get any cooler, they also do punch cards too... Who has ever heard of a record store doing a punch card before? Absolutely amazing. If you are looking for a cool new record store, The Audio Nerd is a great place to check out.

I came here to sell a cigarette neon light, 2 beer bar lights, 1 framed Star Wars poster, 2 bar mirror signs & several movies: they offered me $88 cash or $115 store credit. That offer is about 10% of what they will sell them for not to mention I had to wait over 3 hours to get this offer. Another thing I noticed is this location is very picky & somewhat snobbish so beware. I know the business is there to make money but there is a difference between making a fair offer vs low balling. Unlike the Sacramento location on Arden the staff here isn't as helpful. The quality of the items here are good but it comes with a hefty price tag. The store is located in a plaza so you can window shop while you wait for the staff to go through your items once you're done browsing @ The Cave. I am being very nice by giving this place a three star rating. For appearance & selection it gets 5 stars but everything else really brought down the ratings for me. If the staff actually helped me by answering questions I had in regards to what they buy instead of them giving a default response of: just bring it in... I would have given a 4 star rating instead.
