Thank. Freaking. Goodness. For this place! When Dimple closed, it hit me pretty hard. Being a music lover and also a child of the 80s, it's been hard for me to grasp the streaming music. Don't get me wrong, I do it. But I would much rather pick out my favorite CD to put on. It's no secret that actual music stores are becoming extinct and that makes me incredibly sad. I could spend hours in a store just flipping through CDs. My very first date I ever went on when I was 15, he took me CD shopping! In addition to a large music selection, they also have a nice selection of used T-shirts and clothing. A lot of really great retro toys also! Some really fun nostalgic candy and things too. I LOVE THIS PLACE my mom took me here and it was absolutely amazing. I got posters, magazines, and stickers!!! There is Clothes, nerf guns, old comic books, everything for preteens, teens, young adults, and geeks ( which being a geek isn't a bad thing). I absolutely loved Dimple records and I know that this is not the concept. However, this is a great place to find anything and everything from vinyl record store items, to vintage toys, clothing, and much more at a very well overpriced deal!. The staff at the Folsom store staff...or overpaid "I'm just here for my participation trophy " kids, are not helpful at all. I called one day and asked about selling some items and they said yes we are always willing to help and looking to but merchandise. I literally took e boxes of music from the blues, buddy guy to Warren Zevon...punk..rock..ect. So the guy literally took 15 minutes to look through at least 200 cd's and items, to say...we aren't buying anything! Not just my stuff....Nothing!...wow...I sure would love to talk to the owner. Bummer guys. I would like to apply for a weekend job, just to show what great customer service is, and also how to inventory your damn store read more

A lot of neat toys, but most of the stuff is overpriced for what it is. Not to mention there's too much confusion over what's actually "new" and what's "used." All-in-all, I DO NOT recommend shopping here. Earlier this summer I purchased a figure but didn't notice that it had been previously opened. It was taped up to look new, but was missing a bunch of items. I didn't discover this until I returned home. Due to the rampant wildfires we had all summer long, which resulted in toxic air quality + the pandemic, it wasn't a top priority task for me to try and return a $15 item to a store nearly an hour away. When I was able to drive back there they would not take the item back, claiming that I should have known that it was used, and also told me that 99% of everything in the store is used. This is even after I told them that it was my first time shopping there so I was unfamiliar with their store, services, and items. However, they didn't seem to care and I left with my deceptively used figure...which is still sitting in a bag on the back seat floorboard of my car. BTW, they have a massive wall of "used" Funko Pop toys (they're all new, just stickered as used). They also have a bunch of old figures in blister packs hanging up everywhere that aren't technically "used." So they decided to be rude and lose a customer over a $15 toy. Nice. read more

This has instantly become one of my new favorite stores, as it has such a nostalgic feeling. The music they play, the items they sell it's like a trip back to the 90s. I've seen toys (wrestling figures, happy meal items and etc), apparel (hats, shirts and shoes) and more that remind me of my childhood times. The stock seems to change every few weeks to months, which makes it like a treasure hunt to find what you're looking for. Customer service is very friendly and most of the items have a fair if not great price, only a few are a little over priced. Folsom has more figures and cds where Sacramento has more apparel and shoes from what I noticed. read more

Great vinyl selection! Fun store we can spend hours in here !! Flipping through records , cds , video games ! I scored a pair of vans for super cheap ! It's also my go to for fizzy pop incense !!! Great selection of games , board games and so much more ! Definitely worth a stop ! You won't be dissatisfied! Your bound to find something ! Lots of stuff, but very messy. More of a Goodwill vibe than cool collectible store. Some prices are so out of whack as to almost feel offensive. Hint: When things are still readily available for msrp, or less, at every major retailer don't price your second hand product 10-20 bucks over retail. I'm not gonna give you 30 bucks for something that sells new for 15. Toy hunters aren't looking to be robbed, they are hunting for deals. read more

I too can spend hours here. I also sell here often. Their prices are somewhat fair.. I dislike how I will take things there to sell and they give me X amount, then the next time I go back I see one of my items that they bought and they are selling it for like 4 times the amount they gave me. But that's business I suppose. Most of the staff are friendly, minus one or two employees. If I had to make one suggestion, it would be organize the clothing section, at least separate men's and woman's. Overall I like this store and will return, and have many times read more

This place is dope! I am glad to see they re-used the Folsom Dimple store. Its pretty much the same except there is more toys, action figures and comics! Hell yes!!! I been meaning to make an visit and finally had a chance one sunday. Right away as I walked in and so much stuff everywhere. Whatever you are into, star wars, marvel legends, batman, gi joe, transformers its all there. I knew I was going to be walking out with stuff. I spent two hours looking. I am happy to see that this store exists. I would love to come here more often but I live a bit far from Folsom. I will make a visit every other week. This place makes me miss Dimple!! While it's possible to find some cool, niche items here, everything seems overpriced. Do not waste your time trying to sell them anything either. I brought in a brand new, sealed vinyl record that they said is worth about $18 but only offered me $4 for. I can understand $10 but that low of an offer was just a slap in the face. On opening day I found an ASM 194 for 10$ or so. It was between a 7.0-8.4 grade raw. I also found a helluva lot more keys as well. Hella rare Deadpool vol1's ect. Last time I went in the owner asked if I like Harley Quinn. I said helllll yeah. Took me in back and showed me a short box full of rare Harley comics. He priced them really good too. One of them was a Mexican "Killing Joke" edition. I've only seen pics of it before then. Now I own it for 5 & ch. Never know what you'll find there. Miss Dimple but the Cave is just as good. The guy with the dreads is hecka cool, always has been since the Dimple days. Super posi+ and helpful in addition to polite. Cool dude for sure. Worth the drive to Folsom. read more

There's a clothing section, but it's mostly a bunch of lame T-shirts for virgins and a selection of bland shoes. There's a few interesting pieces of women's clothing, but I don't know if it's worth the journey. read more

I am a bit of a toy collector and still finding great places where I can add to my collection. The Cave is awesome with a lot more than just Toys. I've bought a lot of rare Rock and pop CDs there too. They are some people that used to work with Dimple Records and took over the Folsom Dimple, so expect a lot of cool stuff. They also have clothing now and all the racks are separated by clothing theme, instead of all mixed in. you can get shirts from the Metal or Rock, or even sports sections. The Cave Store on Arden Way is A Awesome Place to shop. I was able to find some nice Music CDs for very affordable prices. I was able to buy 5 DVD Movies, 2 Blu ray Movies, & some Nascar Diecast Cars on the same day. You can spend hours in this store, so the key is to look around, & enjoy yourself with the All kind of Cool Things to look at at, & maybe Even buy as we. My Number 1 Rule is this : While in the The Cave Store Never be in a hurry, or have anything else to do that day because The Cave Store will eat up the minutes turning into hours while in the The Cave exploring items that are in the The Cave. Its like a new store Every time I go into the Cave with newer items that have just arrived, used or New, & for Awesome Prices to. Called to explain our bad experiences but the "manager" couldn't ever care less who we were. Got yelled at for being behind the counter when they've allowed it before the 1st time so we decided to come back, waited by the counter & got ignored. Not to mention all the times we had to put something back because it was either too damaged or incomplete. Goodluck trying to push someone in a wheelchair, weve knocked down soo many things. Huge store. Appears to have had, at one point, Rock, Punk, Metal, and Soundtrack/Jazz sections. But these are vestiges of a time long past: while there might be some albums of the correct genre in those sections, they aren't in any kind of order (certainly not alphabetical), but also records of every genre interspersed. This place is absolutely horrible to seniors! I went in there to do some shopping and I drove all the way from Sacramento, by the time I got there I really had to go P. Management told me that their restrooms are only for employees no exceptions! They said it was because of Covid. But the owner Pinkey also said that that's been the policy for 20 years and obviously there was no Covid 20 years ago. I told them that I had been vaccinated and that I would not spread Covid. Management did not care. Would it kill them to just let me go P? They have to have provisions in their policy to accommodate special circumstances. I won't go into how I relieved myself. If you are a senior , or have a loved one who is a senior, stay away from this place as a matter of principle. There are plenty of other places to get used vinyl etc. I really wanted to like the store. It is so groovy and cool. But the management is very rude and the employees are like robots. Opinion of someone who collects; vinyls, pops, stuffies, limited edition merch. If you are looking to sell to the cave please do not waste your time. They give you 20% cash or 30% store credit. I've sold to them a few times and it was honestly a slap in the face, they don't have employees who specialize in anything so it's just a bunch of employees googling prices for items. I've even been told by a few employees that if I sold to them they would give me $30 and sell the item for $90 and that I should just sell it myself online which I suggest too. As a customer, they're vinyl selection is not for modern vinyl lovers it's mostly for people who listen to metal, indie, alt, oldies. I think they're truly lacking in the modern area. They don't have a solid catalog for inventory on vinyl either, I've called ahead of time for specific vinyls they told me they had them in stock and would even keep them on hold for me yet when I got there the vinyls were no where to be found and they had once again wasted my time. Their vinyls are marked up a bit, if you're in the mood to help out a small business go for it but just know if it's a standard edition it's cheaper at a chain store. Their clothes aren't organized either, it's all mixed in together which is fine if you have the time to look through everything Their funko pops are priced from 9-100 they do have some really cool stuff you just gotta look around for it. The employees are also hit or miss, on some days you'll get assistance immediately and have amazing customer service and on some days there will be 5 employees just chilling behind the register talking while like one other employee is busy doing all the work. In my opinion if you're looking for amazing customer service and better buy back for your records go to phono select on fruitridge. Over recent months they have raised their prices more and more. It is now to the point (particularly for clothing) that I would say it is very overpriced.
