I love that she gave me a hug when I finally put my little girl down. I had 2 dogs over 35 years, and they were both patients of Lexington Veterinary Associates. I miss that really hunky-looking vet, Dr. Reed, but everyone there is great. The gentleman who works the front desk/answers the phone is perfection. Very professional, but plenty of sincerity and warmth. I couldn't ask for more from a vet. Unfortunately, I live in NH now with a new dog. Praying I get someone half as good.

Kevin and Sylvia who work at the front desk are really nice. They know my dog by name and are very warm and welcoming when we arrive. Dr. Applegate is the best vet. She's so knowledgeable, compassionate, and understanding. She's kept my dog alive and thriving to this ripe age of 18 years old. I appreciate that she respects my wishes as a dog owner, as the person who knows my dog best, but also teaches me what I need to know as I haven't had a senior dog before. My dog has had a number of health issues over the years, and this vet and all their experts have been so helpful. My dog has had some surgical procedures here too, and everything has gone really well. Highly recommend.

Betsy is technically skillful but also extraordinarily compassionate, understanding, soft spoken and gentle toward both our beloved dogs and the family members present for our dogs' final moments, one on a familiar couch and one on the grass in the yard he so enjoyed. She clearly understands and feels the trauma we were feeling and made our pet' s passing as easy as possible. She assisted at every step, and stayed to help until all was done. We are very grateful to her for making these difficult steps less painful. We were so very lucky to find her. She is the best.

My dog was 15 miles away and when I asked if there was any way she could help us say goodbye, the vet snapped and said, "That's way out of my way." No empathy. No care. Just a complete lack of humanity in one of the most painful moments of my life. I wasn't asking for a favor--I was trying to give my pet of many years a peaceful, loving goodbye. The response I got made an already heartbreaking situation even worse. She was recommended by a local vet too!!! Horrible.

A few years ago, we reached out to The Cat Connection about adopting a cat we saw on their website. Within 24 hours, we were personally contacted via phone by Eva Miller (Founder and President) to discuss exactly what we were looking for in a new cat. She set up a meeting with a volunteer, Martha-Ann, so that we could meet a few cats that she was fostering. Although we didn't find a perfect match after our first meeting, The Cat Connection continued to follow up with us with other cats they thought would be a good fit for us. We then visited The Cat Connection's headquarters where we were greeted by volunteers and lots of happy cats. After taking a tour and meeting a few different cats, one cat in particular seemed to take a liking to us, and the rest is history! The Cat Connection is one of the best cat rescues in Massachusetts. I highly recommend reaching out to them to find your next feline family member!

In December, the shelter's president, Taline, proactively reached out to ask if we could foster a cat again. At first, due to an uncertain schedule, we replied that we couldn't commit yet. About a week later, once our environment was confirmed suitable, we immediately contacted Taline with our availability, preferred cat types, and other preferences. Taline responded promptly, promising to review the list of cats needing help that week and get back to us. Over ten days passed with no response, despite our reminders. Assuming she was busy, we reached out via The Cat Connection's Slack channel under another volunteer applicant's name at the beginning of this week. Taline replied the next day, again promising to schedule a discussion this week. This week almost passed, and despite private messages and follow-ups, she ghosted us again. Six days ago, we posted a follow-up in the channel regarding fostering. Only then did Taline reply, claiming, "This channel is for announcements and statements to all members." This explanation contradicts prior posts by others requesting volunteer or other opportunities. When we asked again about scheduling a discussion, she ghosted once more. It became clear that she was not too busy to respond - she simply chose to ignore us. I guess she thought volunteers in her opinion were just someone to grab when she needed them. We want to stress that as the shelter's president, Taline's commitments carry weight. Repeatedly making promises and disappearing is disrespectful and unprofessional. Others' time and effort are valuable, and communication - whether to express concerns or provide simple updates - is essential. We hope that in her role, Taline can honor her commitments and respect the time and dedication of volunteers, rather than repeatedly making promises she has no intention of keeping.
