We were very interested in the Carpet Workroom as we knew they had all sorts of carpet remnants on site to choose from. We needed custom replacement runners in our kitchen and after a long exhaustive searches, there are not many carpet stores that have a large inventory of leftover remnants and that will modify to your needs. We went and chose a very nice mid-quality (they sort them low, medium, and high) and pricing reflects that. We needed 2 rugs custom made and James assisted us with the questions, and measuring it all out in the workroom. James was wonderful and told us that our piece would be able to be cut into 3 pieces (a runner that we have off the kitchen) so we were happy about that. It all came to about $630, quite a bit more over our budget but we needed this and we came all the way there and the carpet was wool and very good quality. In closing, there was some miscommunication and 1 of the runners was not the right size, and 1 was missing! After talking to Alison, it the 1st issue was corrected which was great. We got a very apologetic email from the owner Bill, he must have been alerted of the problem and he quickly made good on the issues (wrong size and missing runner) and sent the last piece to us UPS which was hugely appreciated. I was referred to the Carpet Workroom from a friend, and although at first the customer service was spotty, as soon as John took over my account it was smooth sailing from there. He was responsive, scheduled me right away for a showing in the work room, had plenty of options ready, and from there on out the scheduling was a breeze. He followed up several times by text finalizing my order, asking me questions, and confirming the details of my project. Where to I begin? I'm in love with Carpet Workroom. Matt was so amazing from my first "hey I'm in Miami looking for nontoxic runners that won't get stuck in my little dog's nails and is also cute", and even though they are in Boston, MA he said they could help without hesitation. Even though I'm in Miami, FL, the picking out of the product (check out their amazing Instagram), the financial matters, the actual installation logistics was a BREEZE! The carpet itself is incredible. It's beautiful, durable and trendy but also SAFE (flat weave wool). As way of background, on my 35th birthday LOL, I fell down the stairs which I normally wouldn't care about it except that I also fell with my doggie (THANK GOD SHE IS OKAY!) but I now realize runners aren't just a possible decor aspect, they are a SAFETY MUST HAVE! Like honestly, it should decrease your homeowner's insurance if those companies knew better LOL But anyways so I'm in Miami and could only find companies that did nylon or other mixtures that weren't compatible with me because I have a couple autoimmune diseases and I'm extremely sensitive to chemicals and glues. And so I started looking for a wool which led me to carpet workroom. Matt was able to suggest some flatware wools (so the little dogs nails don't get in the rug and cause them to trip) and because their instagram is so extensive, I was able to pick out a flat weave, "in stock" (which generally means more affordable) runner. And because they install with stapler, no glues!! They also provide such a high quality backing to the runner that the walk up and down is breeze (cushiony) and so much more quiet!! The dogs (all 5 of them) absolutely love it and I can tell they feel more confident going up and down. And I am way less panicky The carpet also brightens up the stairwell so much and it's truly so beautiful. I can't thank Matt enough for making this happen and during covid no less! They followed every safety measure ps so don't hesitate as it's truly so much safer and so important especially if you have kids, dogs, elderly parents, any sort of visitors LOL I'm sure I will think of more to say and can update. But honestly so many stars, so many thanks and I LOVE THE CARPET WORKROOM!! Such a great company with integrity. It's also a family run small business ~ ALL LOVE! Can't wait until they are in every city in the US lol because they are so great!! PS: Their prices are also soooo reasonable. And I think they send samples if you like. Though I didn't need it because Matt was so helpful and their instagram has so many great examples as well. PPS: The installation was done meticulously. And no chemical smell!! PPS: I chose the peter island stripe in graphite with a black thin border. It's gorgeous!! I realize it's a light color but that's what I was going for and even though my yard isn't sodded right now, I just put a waterproof matt on the landing (little tip) so that my muddy dog doesn't walk mud up . I also put a little, unsecured movable gate that I use in case he's a total mud ball and one the yard is sodded it won't be necessary. But I also put the same waterproof carpet a the front door so now there's a little extra protection =). Also thank you to Ken for the perfect installation and wonderful company. THANKS AGAIN GUYS!! I hired The Carpet Workroom to do a somewhat complicated stair, and I had a wonderful experience from beginning to end! I worked with Maggie through the product selection to custom details, she explained everything in detail and William even came out a second time to confirm measurements. The final product was perfect! I even went back to them a few months later to get a small tear in a rug I had purchased elsewhere repaired and William looked it over and offered to repair it on the spot to save me a trip back. I'm afraid I had a really disappointing experience with customer service here. We are up in Vermont and I incorrectly thought that Carpet Workroom was in White River Junction, NH. Totally 100% my mistake. I requested some information and Matt was very prompt and helpful. When it came time to get someone out for measurements we realized my mistake but Matt said that, for an extra fee of course, they could still carpet my home. At his request, I sent a sketch of the area with measurements and he said he'd get a quote together. That was several weeks ago. Emails started to slow down a little bit but everyone has been so busy that I didn't think much of it. Matt sent a suggested carpet to keep us in our price range and, when I asked if they had a grey synthetic carpet with a pattern, he simply said no. I found some other examples that I thought he carried and he simply said, no we don't carry those. At that point I said it seemed like maybe he was not interested in our project and he said that since we were far away it wasn't a good fit. Frustrated, I said that I wish he'd said that a month ago, to which he responded "haha I'm pretty sure we established that we weren't in the same state weeks ago." Now, I know that this is a terribly difficult time and I know that tempers may be running high, but this response really disappointed me. I wish he'd simply declined our business when we realized I was too far away, I would have totally understood that. Instead, he was unprofessional and rude. Their products look beautiful and the results do too, but I wanted to share this customer service experience that fell short. read more

My last project in our recently renovated home in Cape Cod was to find a nautical stair runner. I called John at the carpet work room who made an appointment for me to come into the store and visit with him. He was extremely helpful, and guided me to the exact color, style, and quality runner that would fit my space. Within two weeks the rug came in and they had Jim visit my home to install it. It is absolutely perfect. It will hold up to my dog and all the company I have and more importantly aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We had our 15 year old carpets replaced on two flights of stairs in our home. With Matt's expertise, we selected the perfect carpet for the steps. Several samples were sent to our home within a few days . As soon as we chose the one we wanted measurements were taken, and we were given an estimate with cost breakdowns shortly after. I have been stalking The Carpet Workroom on Instagram for months. Each project they feature is stunning. Their Instagram feed made it so easy to prepare for my visit to the showroom. I was able to see options installed in other homes that I would have easily overlooked had I only looked at the samples. I worked with Maggie, who was so incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about their extensive product lines. She made this process seamless and worry free. I first found them on instagram and after a few friends got their runners from them, I made an appointment with Corey to visit the showroom. He was so helpful in finding samples that fit our taste. They came out to do a final measure the day before installation and made sure we were happy with the layout by taping out a few options for one of the landings in particular so we could see what they would look like, helping us to ultimately choose their recommendations. The install was smooth and even though we were home during it, it all went well! Overall we are very happy with the carpet and it is great for our 3 kids and dog to be safe on the stairs while adding some warmth, texture and comfort to the hallways and stairs in our home. Rug for the playroom: My wife and I were expecting twins and for any guy who has had a pregnant wife you know how they want things a certain way...we found this place a stones through from our home in Needham and worked with Matt for over a year to find just the "right" carpet (as my wife would say). Matt was extremely patient and worked with us, sending us pictures every time they got a new shipment of rugs until we found the "right one". Then Matt's Dad came over to measure and did an amazing job of creating a custom rug with multiple cuts and angles to meet our rooms unique shape.
