Barry answered my phone call and agreed to my job right away. We scheduled the next day, and less than 24 hours after calling him I was a satisfied customer. I needed just a small strip of carpet between my bedroom and bathroom cut back and tacked down after replacing the bathroom floor. I had at least eight subcontractors working on my bathroom but not one was willing to fix it. He was friendly, timely, thorough, and priced well. Will definitely call him again (and give his name to the general contractor!) read more

Barry stretched some "waves" out of my carpet. He was on time, very nice and moved my furniture. I live in a small condo so moving beds was no fun. I tried not to bug him while he worked but he took time to explain how he does the stretching. I love small businesses with old school service and values!! read more

I reached out to Barry at The Carpet Repairman after remodeling one of my bedrooms into an office and realizing the carpet had a seam right in the doorway transition. It was very easy to schedule an appointment and Bay came out the same weekend even though I'm sure this was a very small job for him. He even showed me a cleaner way to transition the vinyl plank than what I was planning on before doing the carpet transition. I found The Carpet Repairman on Yelp based on their MANY 5-star reviews and it's easy to understand why. Super professional and phenomenal work at an extremely fair price. I'll most certainly use them again when I need additional work done. Thanks for the great service Barry! read more

It took some time to find a trustworthy good professional company in my area to clean carpets. These guys came highly recommended by two other companies that don't service the area. I've used several carpet cleaners through the years, and have to say these people are top notch, they made my previous experiences with other carpet cleaners look inexperienced. They cover their feet as entering, prices were incredibly reasonable. Our carpet has some ripples which they also can repair and we will be using them as well to repair and stretch it. But what an amazing job they did. It turned out Beautiful. Carpet looks new and it's many years old. They were very good with communication, and returning my calls promptly. They use a toxic free cleaner safe for kids, Pets, people etc. Eco friendly. Highly recommend them. read more

Our 5 month old shepherd pup decided that the carpet next to the dining room would be a good place to try and dig. The only thing she managed to do was pull the carpet off the tack strips. We called Barry and he was able to give us a phone quote for the work. He was able schedule us an appointment, and was then able to move the appointment to an earlier day as he was in the area. He was pleasant, prompt, and very reasonable. Based on my experience, I would highly recommend this business. read more

We just closed on a new house and had reached out to Barry to help remove the old, stained, glued-down carpet from the garage concrete floor. Barry stopped by the house to give us an estimate (which was very fair!) and came by a few days later to complete the job. Barry was very communicative and kind throughout the whole the process. His team did a great job to remove the carpet and clean up all the glue residue that was underneath. He even sent some progress videos which was super helpful since I was unable to be at the location during the job. And on top of all that, there was an old piece of furniture that was left from the old sellers that Barry was kind enough to help us get rid of. Had a great experience with Barry and his team and will definitely reach out again if we need his services in the future! read more

This company is fantastic! Barry and Cody arrived on time and were extremely accommodating to our family. They stretched the carpet and cleaned throughout our whole home. Our carpet looks brand new. They were willing to help move furniture and belongings. They were extremely kind and even fielded questions from curious kids. I will absolutely be hiring them for regular cleanings. I would absolutely recommend them. read more

Answered my call quickly, gave me a great price, came and did the repair within a few days. Looks great! Thank you!!

I wanted to send a big shout out to Barry and Cody for the outstanding work that they did at our house. We had to have our carpet stretched and sections resized and they did an outstanding job. Looks good as new. They also did an excellent job steam cleaning the entire house. We will definitely have them back on a regular basis to keep the carpet in good shape! And their pricing was extremely fair. Highly recommended. read more

Barry and his son are amazing! We recently bought a home in Boulevard and it desperately needed the carpeting stretched. Barry came out and did an estimate for us, it was super reasonable and affordable. They did an outstanding job and our carpeting looking brand new when they were done. They will forever be out flooring guys! read more

I contacted this company to re-stretch my badly rippled carpet downstairs and then clean the carpet throughout my home. Scheduling was really easy. Barry was able to give me an estimate after I provided the detailed info he requested. He and Cody arrived on time as scheduled and took care of everything. The stretching was done perfectly. The cleaning was extremely thorough and now, one week later, it looks like they just did it. All around this was a great experience and I'll be calling them when I'm ready for my next cleaning. read more

Barry was awesome. He was ontime, gave us a fair quote and did a great job. Explained what we were looking for and he showed a sample that was perfect. I would definitely recommend him. read more

Barry and Cody did a great job repairing the carpet in one room and cleaning the carpets in a couple rooms. The price was great and they were able to fit me in on my tight schedule. The customer service is top notch. Only reason I didn't give a 5 star is much of the stains or high traffic dirty appearance on the carpet have reappeared after about a month. Not sure if it's due to the type of carpet or the cleaning process. I would use them again for sure. read more

The search for the PERFECT carpet repair begins and ends with the Carpet Repairman! Long story short, a big dog destroyed an even bigger area of carpet in my son's playroom. Barry, a.k.a. The Carpet Repairman, came promptly and removed the damaged carpet, put new padding underneath, and replaced the gnarly section with a piece of the same carpet that I luckily had stashed away. His process and technique produced flawless results for us in about 1 hour! Barry is a good presence when he works too, he is focused and so friendly, great with kiddos. From the first phone call to the actual cutting of the check I was blown away by the awesomeness of The Carpet Repairman. The service could not be any friendlier. The prices are good, very good. The job will get done the way you want it done...the way you hoped it could be fixed but didn't believe it was really possible! You'll be here writing your 5-star review in no time. :) read more

The Carpet Repairman saved the day! With two small children and two dogs-our carpet needed rescuing! We thought the carpet in our (new to us) condo was in good shape-but after a month-the true condition of the carpet was apparent. We were going to just clean it-but then realized it needed to go. The price to replace both carpet and pad was great. His quality of work is unequal to other companies that just out source the work to sub-standard contractors. Barry and his sons are great! So friendly and professional-I recommend them to anyone! read more

AWESOME, AMAZING, PERFECT, GOOD AS NEW, THE BEST, SUPER, GREAT, SPECTACULAR!!!!!!! Words can't describe the amazing job that Barry did. My dog had destroyed the brand new carpet in my apartment. He had taken apart the carpet (foam and all). I called Barry The Carpet Repairman and he gave me a quote (a amazing quote) over the phone and was able to fit me in right away. I work all week and Barry was nice enough to work around my schedule. He came to my place and within an hour my carpet was good as new. It doesn't even look like a dog lives here (looks better than before the damage). Not only did he do an amazing job and works fast but he cleans up after himself. He not only picks up after himself but he vacuums the entire area. If you need a carpet repairman there is only one person to call and that's Barry. Not only does he do an amazing job at repair carpet and making it look brand new but he gets the job done fast. He is very nice and his prices are extremely fair (understatement of the year, you can't get a better price for an amazing job). Barry saved my carpet and he can save yours! He's the MAN the carpet REPAIRMAN to call!! read more

SIMPLY PHENOMENAL!! A Contractor had drilled a hole through our only 6 month old carpet! We hired someone to fix it (not the carpet repairman) and the job was not good. Also, that original guy said that the results we got was the best that a carpet repair could be! BUT then... I found the Carpet Repairman... Barry. He came in and made our practically brand new carpet look spectacular! Couldn't even tell where the patch was done! If you need a carpet repair, I would ONLY go with THE Carpet Repairman, Barry. And to add, we read up on the Internet, and found several sources stating the best carpet repairs use a circle cut to obtain the best patch. I couldn't find anyone originally who had a circle patch tool, but to my amazement that's what Barry does!!! And it worked beautifully. read more

Barry and his son came to our house today to restretch and repair carpet that had been water damaged. The carpet looks so much better and what a professional company! They arrived at the agreed upon time, went right to work and thoroughly cleaned and vacuumed when finished. Highly recommend!! read more

I have used Barry two times now to patch damaged carpeting from our dog trying to dig under the door to get out. I actually locked the dog accidentally in the room and didn't realize for a couple hours later that he was missing. Too late, damage done. I don't know why he couldn't just bark! Barry did an excellent job of cutting out the bad area and replacing it with extra carpeting I had. He has also fixed carpeting that was improperly laid where it met some tile. He was able to restretch the carpet and glue it down with some special glue. His estimates are fair and I will definitely use him again if needed- or get a new dog. I get nervous trusting workers in the house. Barry, his son, and another worker are all religious, trustworthy people and I have no problem with their working unattended in the house. read more

Best service ever! I have used this company several times for cleaning and my grout and tile ALWAYS look brand new. I've tried other companies, but keep coming back to these guys. Today, a section of my brand new carpet got wet & lifted while the tile was being cleaned. Barry immediately fixed it, solved all my problems (well, flooring problems) and even showed me where the installers from another company had missed a tack strip and glue. These guys are the best. Another Yelp winner here. Hired Barry to repair pet damage to Berber carpet based upon yelp reviews. In brief, Barry is a pro. Responsive, communicative, great work, and on time. After sending some photos of the damage he quoted me a fair price. He showed up on time and made the carpet look brand new. He also made sure to clean up everything. Nice guy and, again, totally professional. Would most definitely recommend for carpet repair work. read more

Barry is a magician when it comes to carpet repair. My lamp tipped over and left a burn mark right through the carpet. As you can see the before and after picture the results are amazing. I got a quote from other business at slightly lower rate but decided to go with Barry, and glad I did as his quality of work exceeded my expectation. Highly recommended business. read more

Ah the joys of owning dogs! Our shag carpet was the victim of a Chihuahuas anxiety. Barry came by right on schedule. He was extremely professional and a genuine person. Our carpet is perfectly patched up and not to mention, he even went above and beyond to glue down the edges of the rest of the living room carpet! The price was reasonable and he even gave us a great quote for a carpet shampoo. I will definitely have him on speed dial for any future carpet issues and I'm sure our dogs wouldn't mind having another person to play fetch with :) read more

We needed our bedroom carpets steam cleaned. Cody with the Carpet Repairman did a great job. Arrived on time, thorough and friendly service and a very fair price. One of the rooms needed some extra attention due to dog smell, so Cody recommended their Ozone machine service for odor remediation. Thank you Carpet Repairman! We recommended them and will definitely use them again. read more

Barry (the owner) is the best! He is the nicest guy, and he was able to do a "tuck and roll" on three closets despite having been left too little and damaged carpet to work with by the previous contractors. It took him a few hours longer than the normal job but somehow he was able to work miracles and the closets look perfect. And like I said, the nicest guy! Thank you Barry!! These guys are great! I love dealing with small companys where the owners really knows their business, loves their work, and are really good at it. These guys win in all three categories. Last year I was hosting a party for about 100 friends, relatives, and business associates and needed to get my carpets in perfect shape. After having them cleaned by another firm I had Barry (Zauss), the owner of The Carpet Repairman, come over, cut out some stained sections, replace them with leftovers, and replace the worn carpeting on one of the staircases. When he was done everything looked brand new and he even took the time to give me a run down on the capet's quality, some maintenance suggestions, and ways of reducing wear. As he was leaving Barry volunteered that they also did cleaning and that he thought that they could do a better job for less than what I had paid. A year later I took him up on his challenge and scheduled them instead of my usual carpet cleaners. Barry, in case you're reading this, your son did an excellent job! He was hardworking and thorough. Best of all, his work backed up your promise. He was on time, it was the best job I've ever had done, and it cost less than my usual carpet cleaning company. You guys are great and should be the most successful carpet guys in San Diego - just don't let it go to your heads and raise your prices. Good Luck and I'll definitely call you next time I need anything carpet-related done! read more

I can't really give a good review on this one. I guess he's a good guy, but very pricey for repairs. At least he goes out to check out the job with out a charge. I didn't use him. As a matter of fact never used anyone for repairs. I base my 2 stars of your pricing. It's more than double than what others came out and quote it. Also on the phone you did say something else. That's why I did have you come by. Otherwise I wouldn't have wasted your time or mine. read more

Barry came to my house to repair the edging of old carpet butting up against the tile entryway. After taking a look at what I was asking him to do, he pointed out that inserting a piece of original carpeting adjacent to the worn carpeting would probably not make me happy because of the big difference in coloration. He made several suggestions for affordable alternatives, none of which would earn him a fee, but all of which made more sense than what I had wanted to do. So after driving to my house to do a specific job, he left having convinced me to just buy a small area rug to cover the worn edges. I was incredibly impressed by both his honesty and his thoughtful consideration of options that might address the problem. 5 stars for integrity. 5 stars for problem-solving. 5 stars for friendliness. I highly recommend. P.S. I used Barry's services several years ago for carpet repairs and he did an excellent 5 star job. read more

That's how business should be done! I found this company on yelp, and Barry was quick to respond to my quote request (via yelp's email). With a few back-and-forths he gave me a quote to replace some carpet padding and stretch/re-install some carpeting we had to peel away due to a leak. We booked the work and his son, Cody, called ahead arrived 2 minutes ahead of schedule. Nice start! Cody was very professional, on task, friendly, and generally likable. It was fun to see him do his thing, and I learned a bit by watching him - enough to know that I'm just going to call them if I ever need carpeting repaired or installed again. We originally had Family Carpet & Drape sell and install our carpeting. They were nice and reasonable, but after seeing how Cody installed the padding vs. the job that was done earlier, I see that FCD's installers didn't do such a great job. You're in good hands here. read more
