Alonso crew quote was reasonable and at par with other roommates received from couple of flooring company. Alonso came in and gave us all the option during first meeting and we eventually ended up going with Luxury Vinyl Plank (LVP), 100% waterproof from Old Republic Pure SPC brand. Their crew especially Khoa was just incredible and possessed an excellent skilled craftsmanship. Khoa was precise, detailed and extremely impecable in his top of the line work quality. We needed the work to be done for Professional Dental office we recently signed the paperwork. In the wake of our 6-month anniversary in working with the Carpet Center, my wife & I decided to share some additional insight (from our experience) Since there has been no resolution, nor restitution (from the $1000+ in damage the Carpet Center caused to our home), we continue to want to inform & tell our story. Besides to the damage (which is well documented, via pictures on Houuz, Google + and yelp), my wife and I wanted to tell story of in lack of customer service, lack of professionalism and verbal accusations. Outside of the lack of customer service, my wife and I came to understanding when (and this was our case) the Carpet Center asks for a deposit/ down payment of +10% is technically illegal (and against California State License Board policy) The CSLB told me directly that is highly UN-professional, not to mention, you generally do not want to engage with companies who conduct such behavior. It typically means that the company (in this case) the Carpet Center does not have enough cash flow to fund current jobs (I wish I had known this) We ended up paying in full and would have regardless, but Aida and Nick Budetti sure know how to take it to their customers. In addition to that... and this is more of the issue, but when Aida and Nick came to inspect the damage the Carpet Center caused, Nick repeatedly (numerous times) decided to imply my wife is a liar (and right in front of her) I completely understand that this my story, but I will remind you that pictures do not lie, so you can see the damage and decide for yourself. I for one, would just like to educate and inform (from our story) so that others do not get hurt by the Carpet Center. If anything, I truly hope someone can be assisted by our story. Quite a random way that we ended up finding them--we built a set of floating shelves that our cat could climb and play on, and we were recommended to find some carpet scraps to staple on that would make the shelves more comfortable and safe. Went to a few carpet shops to find something that would work, and the Carpet Center staff were the only ones that cared to walk us through their leftover inventory and choose something that looked good and worked perfectly for our application--and the cat is happy too! read more

I think I found The Carpet Center here on Yelp. First the positives: Nick came out shortly after a call and his team was putting in the floors 2-3 days later. I appreciated his eagerness to have the job completed before we had 3 families visiting shortly. He worked within my last minute time frame. (BTW, Home Depot was to take 11 days just to measure). His workers were hardworking and cleaned up well. They also told me that the kind of laminate I picked was not good for a kitchen. That was confirmed when we found water damage. Five months later they replaced the floor and we are happy with the results. You should know... You'll need a bit of patience as Nick returns calls at his leisure. I do not doubt that he is busy with work related issues. Once, workers showed up instead of a returned phone call. I would use them again. read more

i would use them again, but might request a different installer. they have pretty affordable carpet and a variety of options. i'm a fan of nick and alonso, who were very professional and taught me all about carpet (if you can opt for nylon over polyester). we ended up purchasing some carpet that they had in stock (lucky for us the color, type and amount worked out great) and had the carpet installed 1-2 weeks later. the installer (forgot his name :( ) didn't do a good job initially.. he came by himself so I had to help move the furniture , so i spoke with alonso who sent out the installer again who fixed it (but i had to stay home from work to make sure he did a good job) ... for the most part he did a good job, i just wish the installer did a good job the first time around. i think the installer was a bit iffy and this was probably an isolated incident. i would use them again. read more

The guys at The Carpet Center are great! I've worked with them a couple times, and they're always patient, sincere, kind, thorough, thoughtful, and they are good at making suggestions when I'm not sure what's best for my home. When I was looking at linoleum recently, they understood that I didn't want a common color/material/look, and they helped me sort through a lot of fun samples. And, they ordered samples for me to examine at home. Earlier this year they put in carpet in our master bedroom, plus in a small family room. In the bedroom they needed to make a little change in the floor slope to accommodate a higher tile threshold leading to the adjacent bathroom. While the slope is somewhat apparent, it's also necessary so we don't bang our toes on the tile. They also came by and re-stretched carpet several months later after a contractor had to pull it back and check something with the subfloor. And, they've also bound some extra carpet for me so I can use it as a protective area rug. Craig, and owner Nick are the two people I've worked with. Both are very nice, and very professional. I would use them again in a heartbeat. My only 'heads up' is that there's an employee with whom I've left phone messages in the past, and he doesn't always seem to pass on my messages. I've learned to call the sales persons' cell phone number(s) and/or use email. Or, I just call back (at their store) later when the person is in. This is a minor thing, but good to know. read more

I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of service and product from a local family-owned business. When I first came in to the store and explained what I was looking for Alonso was very patient and informative. He came out and gave me a quote of my condo that same day. Alonso was great at explaining the difference between the types of carpets and suggested the brand and color he thought would look best with my furniture. The price as very reasonable and he did not try to get me to buy anything extra. The day the carpet was installed, I left in the morning and came back to a plush, soft, beautiful carpet and all of my furniture in the same exact place I left it. I don't know how they were able to install everything within a few hours and move the furniture around within my small place. The only difficulty I had was that my TV cord was stuck behind the entertainment center. Alonso came over personally the next day to move the heavy entertainment center simply so that I could watch TV again. They also sent a thank you card and then a holiday greeting. I have not experienced such great service in a very long time. I highly recommend the Carpet Center if you need to change your carpets. read more

Good sales process with Alonso. Our first installation with them went very well. Clear pricing, good install team and high quality carpet. The second time around, we asked for no padding and to utilize baseboard that we already had. When the installers arrived, they had padding with instructions to use it, and we had to refuse it. The invoice after install had padding and baseboard still on it. Since the invoice was not itemized with a price for each item, they simply took the padding off and we had no way of knowing what the price difference should have been. We ended up with a final price that was still higher than we expected. After having trouble reaching Alonso and the finance team via text and email, they came back with threats of litigation over the disputed bill. Although it will be paid in full, we're left feeling like we were taken advantage of through their disorganization and lack of a concise invoice. Very disappointed with the experience, and would not suggest dealing with them. We've worked with other companies in the area since, and found similar pricing, a more experienced installation crew and none of the finance confusion. read more

The wife and I were very pleased with the entire experience had at The Carpet Center. The sales person (Paul) was helpful but not pushy. He helped us settle in on a great carpet with a very good price (almost half of what was initially quoted to me by the local chain store). I really liked their approach. The other place said they would match any price, but I don't want to support a shop that starts with a price in the stratosphere, and expects you to do all the work to get them down! Paul gave me a fair price, and so i didn't have to "grind" him much to feel like we were getting a great deal. Even though the carpet wasn't in stock at the manufacturer, they stayed on top of it and had it scheduled to install within a few weeks. The install took all day but the end result is luxurious. We did this application several years back, and it still looks like a new install to this day - no seam separations whatsoever. - A new carpet in our family room and stairwell helped remove the evidence of a well-loved, multi-animal home - with little strain on our part for furniture rearranging. - And, a long-coveted cork flooring in the kitchen now keeps our tootsies warm and is easy on the back when long-standing, heavy prep sessions for Thai cooking are in play. If you haven't considered cork flooring - definitely do! There are beautiful patterns. Such easy care. And very easy on the eyes. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!! I just did a full remodel to my townhouse and hands down can say that the worst experience from amongst over 7 different contractors was with The Carpet Center and the job is STILL NOT done!! My designer hired The Carpet Center in July, yes July, for 2 very simple jobs. 1) to replace 3 bedrooms of carpeting upstairs with laminate flooring and 2) refinish the real hardwood floor downstairs to match the flooring being installed upstairs. That is when the problems first began. Alonso swore that his subcontractors were professionals and could easily match the stain to the upstairs flooring "they do this all the time" he said. I moved out of my house while they did this as it covers my whole downstairs only to return to the COMPLETELY WRONG COLOR. They had stained it a gold stain when all the rest of the wood and the upstairs flooring were a dark brown/mahogany color. I will stop to say that if they had matched the color correctly and the job was complete, this review would have been very positive. They had done a nice and efficient job upstairs and the quality was good downstairs and they had moved the furniture, returned it all in place etc. Basically, the job I expected minus the right color stain. From reading the other reviews, it sounds like if everything goes smoothly, they are great to work with but let me assure you, if anything goes wrong, you will be VERY sorry you ever hired them. Alonso came over to see the floor and quickly agreed that it was clearly the wrong color. "No problem" he said, "they can easily sand it down and re-stain it the correct color". So, I once again incurred the cost and inconvenience of moving out of my house for a week and came back to it the correct color...but something was clearly off on the finish. The floor scratched with any slight movement over it and there was clear discoloration in places (see pictures). Again, Alonso came over and quickly agreed that something was not right and that it did not appear to have the correct amount of top coat. He said he would speak to his subcontractor, Miguel, and get back to me with a plan to fix the situation. Well, his solution was that Miquel and team would come and fix their mistake but that I would need to pay an additional $1600 - are you kidding me??? I hired the Carpet Center for 2 simple jobs as listed above and they had agreed to the fact that the downstairs was not completed to anyone's satisfaction. The Carpet Center subcontracted to Miquel, not I and it was certainly not my issue that he did not do that job correctly. After getting frustrated to the point of tears in trying to explain this to Alonso, I asked my boyfriend to step in and try to resolve the issue. I had already moved out of the house for THE THIRD time so we needed to get this resolved in a timely manner. THANK GOODNESS FOR NEST CAMERAS AND THE RECORD FUNCTION!!! After telling us that Miquel and team would come and on Monday, I had moved out Sunday night....only to be able to watch that come WEDNESDAY morning, not one person had come to fix the floor and no one could seem to reach Alonso. Finally Miquel and team came back and did the absolute WORST possible job as caught on video. While moving the furniture they managed to knock my dining table into my brand new refrigerator door, leaving a large dent to which again, Alonso said, "I didn't do it, it's not my responsibility". Since when is it not the contractors responsibility for the work of their subcontractor???? To try to shorten this horrendous story, we finally just paid to have the door replaced as it was not worth the headache and we are STILL trying to get Alonso to have someone in to fix a horrible patch in the middle of the room where god only knows what Miquel and team did. (even scarier is that Alonso swears that Miquel is his A team, I'd HATE to see his D team!). The latest is that Alonso says we "are on standby" to have the patch in the middle of the room fixed. WHO puts a customer who has gone through this type of experience on "stand by" when the issue has been outstanding for over 6 months????? Happy to provide more details if anyone would like but I would strongly suggest that you steer clear of this company. I will provide an update if this finally does get resolved. read more

We are so glad we found the Carpet Center. We must have called 5 different companies that told us they either couldn't install a runner on our stairway because of the difficulty or they were extremely expensive. Then we spoke with Nick. He was so personable and took the time to come out to the house so we could show him what needed to be done. He said there was no problem and they could take care of it asap at a very reasonable price. Within a couple of weeks, he sent his installer Benito out even earlier than expected and he had it finished within 2 hours. Thankfully, after dealing with a myriad different subcontractors, I decided to move forward with The Carpet Center. The installer (Humberto) is meticulous with his manual labor. Humberto genuinely cares about his work. I had all my steps stained a dark walnut to match the existing hand rails and the installation got completed in the time frame promised. We have been using The Carpet Center for all of our apartment communities for the past 2 years. Can't say enough about Nick! I went with The Carpet Center to remove the old disgusting carpet in my townhouse and replace it with hardwood flooring. This covered the living room, dining room, small kitchen, stairs, and hallway. I did get an estimate from a local, well known competitor and the rough estimates were fairly comparable, but I felt so much more at ease with Nick from the very first meeting. He was incredibly patient as I debated colors allowing me to keep samples without pressuring to speedily return them(as the other place had done)...did not pressure decision making or rush me.....and showed even more patience when I had to put the whole thing on hold due to unexpected kitchen renovations I faced. Alonso is a great person to work with. I don't have much idea about what kind of carpet to install at new home. When we first talk to Alonso in person, he showed us all kinds of carpet and the price. He knows every detail about carpet. Due to HOA regulation, we have to replace some tiles in dining room by carpet. When Alonso came to our home and take a look, he suggested us not to remove the tile, just putting carpet on top of the tile. That saves us a lot of time and money! The installation team is great and professional. After carpet was installed, some doors need to be trimmed due to the height of the carpet. Alonso coordinated with the team and came the other day to finish the work. Thanks that we have met Alonso and his team. I am so happy with the new carpet and the work they did for us. We had just pulled old carpet up from the house we recently purchased, assuming that the hardwood floors underneath would be in decent shape but they were a mess. We were moving in the very next day so had no time to refinish the floors, and atually thought there would be no way to even get carpet laid that same day...but, we went over to the carpet center on Friday morning at 11am, and by 2:00 they had two installers at my house laying carpet! it was only one fairly small room, so were were able to choose a remnant, but still...we were in a bind and they helped us out and didn't charge us anything extra for a "rush job". I recently had The Carpet Center replace my living room carpet and they did a wonderful job. The whole process went very smooth, from Don helping me with the selection to a very timely installation.
