They are very dishonest company. They spray paint all of their used cars, shocks, and underbody, so you cannot see rust or any cracks or damage. They post pictures of a car's paint when they're wet, so you cannot tell the discoloration of the paint jobs. And that's just from their viewpoint. Now their customer service point definitely should be more of something from New Jersey or New York rather than something from the south. Their customer service was rude, disrespectful, unprofessional, and I would not recommend this place to anyone, whether they were a friend or an enemy. They do not do a 360 inspection. They get them in and they flip them the next day. The salesman thought, because I was a woman, I knew nothing about cars. Well, let me tell you what I can drop and rebuild any Tranny you bring to me. The moment he realized I knew what I was talking about on the car is the moment he got disrespectful. shut the hood and walked away right in the middle. ignored our objections and criticism of the price. thinking that I needed a $6000 vehicle when I was there to actually buy something nice for whatever price. I would avoid this place like it's hell itself. read more

they charge huge down payments, say they have a warranty then the car breaks down 30 days after purchase and the problem miraculously isnt covered under their warranty! shady shady business practice! read more

They sold my elderly grandpa a car for approximately 10k , not even 4 months later hes sick and incapacitated and g fits me the car. on the 4th diagnostic fees they decide to be honest and let me know it needs major work done that of course isn't covered by "warranty". The sales manager offered 2500 cash to buy the car back in person but then doesn't return my phone calls. I'll continue to try to post to protect anyone else from this dishonest place and will contact bbb if they don't resolve. read more

‼ WARNING!! ‼ The pics they posted of the vehicle i bought online, a 2007 Toyota Tundra, were done in such a way as to hide all the damages & deceive buyers into believing the Truck i bought was in much better shape than i got. Busted front bumper fell off as it was poorly zip tied on, busted tail and fog lights, the "few scratches" Byron Adkin described was an outright lie. The truck has been in 3 wrecks!! It's falling apart! I paid $7,000 plus repair parts for this falling apart hunk of junk! ‼ STAY AWAY FROM THIS JUNKYARD OF A DEALERSHIP‼ read more

I was in the market for a new to me car, as my car was getting up there in mileage. I was looking for about a month, and found The Car Store. I don't have credit. Not bad, just none. I was treated respectfully from the moment I went in. I had an idea of what I needed and Bobby was very helpful! He went above board to help me to get financing for the car, and at the same time build credit. I am very happy with the car, and I have no doubt that should any issue arise they will see to it that it is taken care of. Everyone was super nice and professional. Special thanks to Bobby for all the help and encouragement. I look forward to a good working relationship with this business. I'm a customer who stays if the service is good. My last 2 cars were with a dealership who just didn't have what I needed this time around. So if you are in the market for a " New to You" good vehicle, go see Bobby at The Car Store! read more

The Car Store - Used Car Dealers Near Me - Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

The only reason that I clicked 1 star, is because you had to in order to write a summary. These ppl scam you on purchases, they did not provide full disclosure on the car and I had to deal with issues with the car including but not limited to the fact that it never had heat although they indicated it did. Additionally, they ignored my boss when they tried to provide pay stubs and employment verifications of my new job to modify my payment dates to match my new paychecks while acknowledging to me in writing that they received the correspondence, they assured me those dates were modified in a recorded call and that they wrote notes on the account but I later found out they were not and instead intentionally making me late on a payment despite a recorded call I had stating otherwise. They ask you to set up a date to pay, then ignore the emails when you provide them with the information, they did not follow South Carolina laws with repossession which legally require (they attempted to repossess a missed payment that was due to their own fraud) State law requires a certified letter to be sent called the Notice of Right to Cure according to an attorney I spoke with it's unlawful repossession since they didn't serve a right to cure letter which is legally required. Had a notice been served they still would not legally be allowed to act for the 20 period required in the notice. Not following state laws leaves them open to lawsuits. They also have yet to release personal belongings or respond regarding same that include my son's carseat for my vehicle. They legally are required to provide you your personal belongings, I intend to hold them accountable should they not comply immediately on them. They are scam artists who look for ways to make easy cash. They would try to call to avoid things being in writing and I would email to ensure it was fully documented at the direction of an attorney. They made a great deal of mistakes in those emails. I have a lot of email records and correspondence showing some very shady business practice. I would stay far away from a place like this. There are honest buy here pay here places I've had amazing experiences with. This is not one of them. You will experience fraud, deceit and unlawful business practice as well as not receive full disclosure on any issues with a vehicle. read more

Call ridgeway tire and auto today to have my car looked at I was a customer of the car store. I Bought a Yukon xl from there but no longer have it. They have always worked on my car before new policy now states that they cannot work on any car but cars that have come from the car store needless to say they are going to lose a lot of business. I have always trusted Ridgeway tire and auto with my vehicle And now that Devon no longer works there and the owner of the car store wants to change policy I now have to find another trusted mechanic. read more

Let me start this "5 Star Review" by stating that I am a customer service snob... being in the customer service industry myself. And I can honestly say the experience of buying my boat from The Car Store was nothing short of fantastic. Mike, Jordan, and Robby treated me with exemplary care and concern throughout the boat buying process. The Car Store is a family-run business and they treated me like I was truly a member of their family. I love excellent customer service, and The Car Store delivered. Thank you, Mike, Jordan, and Robby, for making my boat buying experience so pleasurable. read more

Regarding my original post of 08/10/18 (D.J. review), I need to clarify that almost immediately after learning of posting, the owner reached out to me and made efforts to rectify the problems and actually towed it from my mechanic at his expense to do so. As such, because of the owner's display of honesty and integrity in this case, my opinion of this business has changed. I'd also like to comment that my experience with the original salesperson and the owner was very positive. Owner does care and wants to make things right. read more
