I would like to update my review. The last time I visited, I purchased candles but didn't partake in the class. On a Saturday afternoon, My Mr. and I decided to do a walk in and make our own candles. Thankfully they weren't busy. Highly recommend you book online if you have large parties. We were given a clipboard and pick out our favorite scents. From there, an employee will guide you through the process. You smell the oils and whatever pairs well, you mix them in a jigger. First before you do that, you have to pick out a glass. I highly advise you do the buy 3 get one free. Mix and match any size. It's more bang for your buck. After you mix your scents (you can pick up to three), you pour into the wax glass and stir until the oils are not in the bottom. We picked: Mine: Mahogany Roasted chestnut Vanilla bean Baked bread Bourbon Campfire My Mr: Orange zest Agave Bourbon Toasted marshmallow Dark chocolate Hazelnut Give them two hours for the wax to dry and you can pick them up. If it's close to closing time, you can pick it up the next day. We had so much fun making our own candles. The ladies were so helpful and down to earth. Definitely returning! read more

I wanted to add more to my previous review after creating my own candle here. I really enjoyed being a sort of scented Dr. Frankenstein and being able to create something truly unique. My lady and I walked in and asked to make some candles. Luckily they were not busy so we were able to get started right away. To start, they give you a paper and clipboard, and they let you come up with concoctions using the plethora of scents they have in the store to make two candles. You can also choose whatever glass you want the candles in to personalize them. Here's what we chose: My lady- Mahogany Roasted chestnut Vanilla bean Baked bread Bourbon Campfire Me- Orange zest Agave Bourbon Toasted marshmallow Dark chocolate Hazelnut You can mix the scents however you want before pouring it into hot wax to make the candles. They take about two hours to set. Ours turned out great, especially my toasted marshmallow/dark chocolate/hazelnut blend. This is super fun and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes candles. read more

We had the best time creating a candle for my Mother's Day gift! They had a ton of choices for scents and the staff was all very patient and accommodating, especially with my 5 year old son who asks a lot of questions. We ended up combining honeycrisp apple, magnolia and yuzu and our candle smells AMAZING! We will definitely be recommending this experience for anyone who wants a unique gift. read more

A really fun experience and wonderful addition to the Anderson Towne Center! A few shops down from Bar Louie and Macy's, the newest location for Candle Lab is nestled in the up and coming strip. Typically you can make a reservation if you're having several people but my birthday falls on a holiday weekend which did not accept reservations. For this reason, we skipped the OTR location and came to Anderson. The store is adorable! I love the fresh workshop vibe. You start on the scent wall if you want to customize your own candle/lotion/scrub. That's right, you have more options that a candle! Over 100 scents are there for your liking, pick your favs and don't worry if they don't vibe well together. The associates will help you pick 2 or 3 that smell great together! You can decide which jar you'd like, starting at $16 for 8oz, a 60 hour burn. Over at your pouring station, an associate meets you to mix your scents and decorate your label. The lady helping us was so kind and encouraging! She made us feel special and that our scent was awesome. Rarely do they have specials but we got lucky with a buy three get one free deal so keep on the lookout! Your candle does have to set for 90 minutes so either shop around the towne center or come back another day. We opted for the next day and our candles were ready to go in cute bags. Overall, I'm really impressed with how kind everyone here is. I'd like for the prices to come down just slightly but that's the price you pay for a fun experience! Definitely worth it! read more

Tonight a group of 7 of us visited the Candle Lab to celebrate a birthday. The space is so open, clean, and well organized. The employees are amazingly helpful and friendly. There around 100 scents. I was amazed how accurate the scents are. I was nervous to that I was going to make a horrible smelling candle but the employees are so helpful it's impossible to mess this up. I LOVE my candle! (Lots of Basmati Rice, Fig and a little bit of peppercorn) We weren't sure if our candles would be ready to take home before the store closed. We went to Bar Louie to wait. These people brought our candles to us! Talk about amazing customer service!!! Besides candles you can also customize lotions, sugar scrub, bubble bath to name a few. This would be a great date night, girls night, or birthday party. read more

This place is awesome! I hosted an event here with my meetup group and we were all very satisfied with our experience. I was originally going to go to the OTR location but several people informed me that Anderson was superior. And I can see why! First of all, their store is very spacious and welcoming for groups. The ambiance was lovely and everyone on the staff was super friendly and accommodating! They offer a very wide variety of scents to decide on for your candle and they give you a paper to write your favorites down on. The instructors don't just leave you to figure it all out on your own, they look at your list and tell you which combinations will work best together. They then allow you to smell each combination and you then decide which works best for you to create your candle with. BTW - I decided on Chardonnay, Grapefruit & Christmas Ale. So good!! Creating your candle only takes 30-40 minutes and then you allow your candle to set for 90 minutes afterwards. Our instructors told us to go grab dinner nearby in the meantime. And there are several restaurants within walking distance since the store is located in a giant shopping center. Perfect! They were also hosting another party after ours, but they were so kind as to let us know that if we came back a little late to pick up our candles, that it would be no problem at all and they'd let us in. They were super gracious upon our return, had our candles all bagged up and they offered to take a group photo for us. We were all very pleased with our finished product and our experience there overall. We definitely plan to go back in the Spring! read more
